[closed] 🔶 i don't have a witty title for this one
Who: Ferran & his gfs
When: ~15th or so
Where: Ferran's house
What: At last, they meet.
Warnings: ???
Ferran had definitely meant to do this earlier. Not immediately, given that he first had to grapple with his own behavior on those nights under the near-full moons. But then he'd been occupied with worrying about them and his other friends who'd suffered from the cult's actions, and then Tsutha had left and he wasn't in much of a state to arrange a positive sort of meeting, and then Underground mess made such a thing impossible, and then everyone had to recover from that...
... look, it's fine. They're not excuses, they're all very valid reasons. And he's doing it now! So it's fine.
He's just setting up another meeting between his bonded—and that's what he tells the two girls. He's doing much better on the time aspect when it comes to that... and the other thing can be brought up at some point. He'll figure it out. Better not to think too much about it... probably.
So he asks them to meet at his house, arranging a time close to the middle of the month. It's definitely a better idea to have this kind of conversation in the privacy of his own home, compared to a more public venue. There are cute plant pets to distract them. He wants both of them to feel welcome there anytime. He can distract himself by preparing their snacks, drinks and meal instead of vibrating out of his skin waiting for them to arrive. And he knows the nooks and crannies to hide in should it all go down poorly.
It's just unfortunate that he can't quite keep his anxiety to himself when it comes to those bonds. The fact that the two of them are familiar with his tendency to avoid talking about his issues may or may not turn out to be a blessing...

But then the anxiety starts creeping in through the Bond, and she realizes that something's up. The feeling isn't anything too deep or painful (feelings from him that she's well acquainted with, unfortunately), so she's not worried about this meeting. Just wary, and a bit confused.
That doesn't stop her from arriving with a smile on her face and a cat on her shoulder. She'd tried to leave the familiar at home, but Geddo had teleported to her about halfway here and she didn't have the heart to walk him back.
As usual, she lets herself in.]
Hi Ferran! Am I the first one here?

She, too, had felt the anxiety creeping through the Bond. She's held her Bond with Caster and Archer long enough to tell when - and usually where - such emotions were coming from outside herself, and it had hastened her steps towards Ferran's house, wondering what was wrong.
Stepping in behind the girl, her own familiar perched on her shoulder - Ao was cheerfully stuffing nuts in her cheeks, the squirrel cheerful and chipper as she always was. There's a warm smile on her lips as she slides the door shut behind her. ]
Only by a moment, I believe. Hello, Ferran. And... Rikku, I assume?

And all our companions, too. [Picking up his plant creatures on a whim was one of the best decisions he's made here, and there's always one or two them scuttling around whenever company comes by.]
Rikku, this is Yona—we bonded last month, but we met around when I got here. [Essentially. Dream nonsense.] I'm glad you could both come.
[As if he wouldn't simply figure out another time they were both free... but this time he wanted to be careful and make sure neither the new moons nor full moons were in effect. The more normal he can make the situation, the better.]

[Geddo, bored of the conversation and more interested in finding Pluto to harass, launches himself off of Rikku and skitters off to who-knows-where. Rikku staggers slightly as he does so, if only because the movement throws off her balance. She's quick to recover, however, and addresses Ferran's comment directly.]
And of course we have to bring all the animals. It would feel empty in here without them, you know?
Speaking of... Yona, what's the little one's name? They're adorable!

This is Ao, she's been with me since I arrived here from home - and long before that.
[ Smiling warmly, she gives the girl's hand a squeeze in greeting. ]
I'm glad to finally meet you. You're a friend of Karin's as well, are you not?

Ferran has to chuckle at Rikku's remark—it's true that the house is... larger than anybody would probably consider for a single person, and their pets help add a little bit of liveliness to the space.
He might have asked more about Ao's origins if he wasn't distracted by Yona's question.]
Oh, you know Karin too? [Small city... but there are only so many Mirrorbound that can be here, he's sure.]

[That accomplished, she returns her attention to Yona and Ferran, eyes lighting up a bit at the mention of their mutual friend.]
Yeah, I live with Karin and her friend Alice. [Rikku maaaaaaaaaay refer to the latter as Karin's girlfriend when talking to her big-sister-housemate, but she figures she should be nice here.] Karin's the first person I met here, and she's been like a big sister ever since. I didn't realize you knew her too!
For such a big city, it really feels small sometimes.
returns forever later oops >.>
[ Yona's smile softens at that, because she's often thought the same. Connections are everywhere here - and far more intricate than even the Bonds can manage sometimes. ]
I met Karin shortly after she arrived here. The circus, I think? [ She pauses as she tries to remember, before shaking her head. ] Oh, and Alice, too! I hadn't realized she was there as well. It really is a small city.
/o/ huzzah!!
I guess that's what happens when we're all sent to the same neighborhood.
[Speaking of houses and the like, though...]
Sit down and make yourselves comfortable wherever you want. [Not that he has to remind them they're welcome to pretty much everything he owns, but still.] Lunch should be done in a few minutes.

[The Al Bhed are big on the idea of community, and that transfers over to Rikku's experiences here.]
Do you need help with anything, Ferran? I feel kind of bad hogging Yona and making you do all the work.
