March catch-all
Who: Xingchen + you
When: all of March
Where: Throughout the city
What: Studying, working as a host in a tea room, doing quests
Warnings: CW: character is blind
I. Spring is coming
Winter has passed and the snow melted. It seems to be warmer in the city at this time, but slightly chilly and layers required to keep warm. Not that Xingchen could tell, because he cannot see and his vision is dark, but he could tell the sun is out by the warm on his skin, so spring is around the corner.
The weather is calm, calm enough for him to slowly venture. He wears a clean white blindfold around his head and a staff in one hand. The staff works more than a walking stick, he enchanted it to sense people and spatial space as he moves it around. It's a small feat as his spells tend to backfire on him and he still inexperienced, but it works for him.
He walks around the lively city, learning the streets, the roads, and memorized it and learn to ask kind strangers for directions. There isn't much jobs he could do efficiently, not with his disability but there is many opportunities and he heard by word of mouth and asking, and eventually he was given tips and guided in the right direction. He doesn't make much by the week, but it's something to help cover for basic necessities.
II. The Green Petal Tea Room
He found his first job as a host at the teashop in the evening. He was chosen for his handsomeness and beauty for a gentleman to please their guest. All he needs to do is charm and talk to whoever is sharing the alcoholic tea with him.
With spring being the theme, they had dressed in their uniform in an oriental fashion, and put spring flowers in his long black hair, which he ties up in a bun and a hairpin to keep it in place.
Sitting in the booth across his guest, he makes a bow. "I'll do my best to serve you. This tea is aromatic with fruit essences. Is there any snacks you like?" He make his voice soft and sweet to entertain his guest to the best that he can, despite wearing the blindfold that covers his eyes.
III. Modern metaphysics
On most days, Xingchen tries his best to accommodate his magic, but without a stable bond, his magic is static and unstable at best as his spells and spell-casting tend to backfire. He adapts by sticking to touch-base magic and whatever he touch, he reads the information in his mind in fragments.
He attended most classes in the college, but often sit in the back and take notes as he listens, even if he's unable to read his own writing. As a mirrorbound, he volunteers for research to study.
Many of the question intrigues him as a former Daoist priest. He feels like he missed a lot. Questions to the religion like in his world and it's relationship to the spiritual energy and magic.
Either way, in the classroom, he contribute to conversation, adding to the conversation and discussion.
"Oh, is it my turn already to speak? Well in my world. I am what you called a cultivator. I'm a Taoist priest, and I practiced the way. That's the study of qi deviation or using spiritual energy in our bodies to use in meditation or swordsmanship." He explains to whoever is listening to him in a circle.
He hoped the professors received what they're looking for.
IV. Wildcard
[Anything else? Feel free to make up your own scenario. If you like, I can make a custome starter you! Just hmu here. He's a witch and is currently looking for to make a temp-bond or purely business / mutual benefit]

So he watches, and does so for around half an hour before he finally approaches near enough to be heard when he speaks.
"The spell on your staff could use work," he comments mildly. "Did you cast it yourself?"
no subject
"Mm. Indeed I did. I imbued it and enchanted it. Wood can be a channel for magic. Pretty basic, but it doesn't work all the time."
no subject
Mogget approaches the staff and sniffs at it, sensing the magic and feeling the tingle of it through his sensitive nose. He blinks once, then takes a couple of steps back and sits down in such a spot that he won't be in the way should the man decide to continue walking.
"Still, not something I've seen before." Not that many here would have use for it. "Someone at the Coven could help you improve it."
no subject
"The good people at the coven could do so much to help, but my spells and magic will have more efficiency if I can find someone to have a bond with. Especially a monster type. Which I haven't found someone yet."
no subject
"I'm sure there are monsters looking for a witch to keep them from going feral."
no subject
"I'll keep myself open and on the lookout."
no subject
The necessity of it being so quick had been what had pushed Mogget into the mindset of doing it simply for the sake of convenience. He isn't looking for friends and would go without it entirely, even at a detriment to his magical ability, if he could.
"There's no stay of execution because you want to make friends first."
