Don't give swords to goats
Who: Geralt and Asriel
When: 3/16
Where: At Geralt's house, and then a training area
What: Sword training!!
Warnings: None
[It took a little while for Asriel to find Geralt's home, but he's here now and he's ready to practice his sword training. He's been training pre-emptively in his own house, mostly knocking stuff over with a stick he found.
He knocks on the door. When Geralt opens it, he'll find a goat child with a yellow lion's mane growing out of his neck and a long lion-like tail.]
Mr. Geralt? Are you home?

He's gathered one of the lighter, shorter blunted swords and a similarly sized wooden one from Yennefer's fencing class: made for those of smaller stature. They'll do, even if he doesn't have any of the equipment he'd normally would at the keep back home.
Approaching footsteps are hard to miss, and the door swings open only a split second after the knock sounds. Geralt's yellow eyes fix on the boy, a faint curiosity crossing his features. A Chimera? He assumes so. Geralt's marks are less distinct—at least for this world—with simple wolf's ears and a white tail that twitches once behind him. ]
You're Asriel?

[He definitely looks the part of chimera, but Asriel is a lion turnskin - though he doesn't really know that yet.]
I'm ready for training!

After a second, he tips his head for Asriel to follow. ]
You are late, by the way. [ It's a comment made casually -- less about when the boy showed up and more the reason behind it. Knowing Yennefer, he suspects she moved the time on her own.
He leads the way around the house: the yard out back is expansive, thanks to the two Witches that occupy it with him, and the edges of the woods aren't far. Flowers dot the gardens; a chestnut mare chews on some hay in her stable at the far end. ] You've held a blade before?

[Asriel laughs nervously, knowing this probably doesn't make a good impression. He eagerly answers Geralt's second question.]
Yeah! For a little bit anyway, so I'm not really experienced...
[Also he was bigger and stronger in that form, which he doesn't have those powers now.]

At the edge of the garden sits a sturdy mannequin of wood and straw. He picks up one of the wooden swords, about two-thirds the length of a standard longsword. ]
Experience doesn't matter. But what you know does. [ He'll have an idea of where to start when he sees the boy in action.
Geralt hands the practice sword over. ] Show me.
