The chattiness is familiar. Unfortunately. ]
Pixies. [ They're not fairies. They're pixies. There's a difference, one that Geralt can't help pointing out.
He turns into the nearest tavern to escape both the heat and the creatures fluttering around the city still. ]
They might be little shits, but at least they don't talk as much. [ As you, is implied. ]

Right, pixies.
[ If he sounds disinterested in the correction, it's because he is. This tavern is interesting though! He follows Geralt in, scanning it curiously, then is abruptly reminded of something. The way Crowley's mind works is a little haphazard, when you have as many memories as he has the fetching and processing times tend to increase. ]
Do you know, I was talking to someone the other day and I think what this place needs is a jazz bar.
[ Don't you agree, Geralt? A jazz bar? Please agree, he needs people to agree so he can prove to Aziraphale people will come. ]
no subject
A what bar? A jazz bar? What is jazz? There's a second as he pauses, but he doesn't ask. He's got zero interest in provoking a long lecture about whatever it might be, lest he fall the fuck asleep. ]
Mm-hmm. [ A jazz bar. Absolutely. His tone is as dry as his glass, which would usually mean something if that isn't how he's just been sounding this entire time. ] I love jazz.
no subject
[ A dry tone never discouraged Crowley from anything. ]
See, we had considered the idea of something more general music-wise but I like jazz. I think a jazz bar would be cool!
[ 'We'.
Aziraphale had wanted something more general. Crowley had been all-in on the jazz idea.
Still, he does at least move to put payment down for the pitcher. He said he'd pay, didn't he? So he's paying!
With the money Geralt gave him.
For the pie he stole.
Small, unimportant details. ]

He can't say he minds. Much. He'll take someone more interested in talking about themselves over someone nosing into his life with too many questions.
Besides, amidst the rambling, he does learn one new thing: jazz is a type of music. ]
Do you play it?
no subject
[ Inspiring a little sin a long the way, if the mood is right. ]
Thought it might be fun to set up a little place, give back to the local economy.
[ Make money. Specifically, make money and build something he will personally find entertaining. ]
no subject
Not a musician, then. He would've believed him if the man had said he were. He has the dramatic disposition for it. ]
I'm sure the local citizens will be ever grateful.
no subject
[ There is, in fact, culture here. It just isn't jazz culture specifically. ]
It's all about providing the right space, the atmosphere. Jazz is all about expressing yourself, improvisation, feeling something.
[ Here Crowley is, underlining the 'dramatic disposition' assumption. ]
You play at all yourself?
[ Can he recruit you, stranger, to this future jazz bar business? ]
no subject
He's not sure which is preferable. Undecided, still. ]
No. [ There's a bemused lift to his brows. He scratches an ear. Hm. Jaskier has thrown plenty of things in his lap, unasked for. Maybe it's time he returns the favor. ] But I know someone who does.
no subject
[ Crowley is now Interested. Who is this person who plays instruments? More specifically, are they interested in jazz? ]
Someone here?
[ Are they someone he can... recruit? ]
no subject
[ Can you play jazz on a lute? Geralt has zero idea and also doesn't care enough to contemplate for long. Jaskier has accumulated a number of instruments since, anyway, some he's never seen before. A piano, for one. ]
You'll find him performing at the taverns here and there.
