( Orphanage: Mistaken Identity )

[ Vanitas has nothing to do with the orphanage or the kids there. Really and truly, he doesn't. Now he might have been tasked to drop some donations off, but hanging around them? Playing with them? Oh no. No no no. That's not something that Vanitas can tolerate at all.

Seems like he's in a bit of a situation right now though. Looks like some of the kids are out and about when he's dropping something off. With a cry of "Sora!" one kid starts running toward him. One kid becomes two. Then there's a quite a few running up to him and asking him a million questions. What happened to your ears? and Is your hair darker?

Van is a little overwhelmed and flabbergasted. Help? ]


( Wet and Wild: Options A and B )

Back off!

[ It's not so unusual for Van to be out in the Wilde offering assistance or just working out some of his own aggression. This time he's battling some Shades while a group of people try to clean up the area. They're now evacuating and Vanitas? Eh... He might be buying time. Not for their sake, but mostly so that he doesn't have any dead weight holding him back.

He slashes at one with his weapon, Void Gear and goes to take another step. So ( a ) either help Van get people out or get ride of Shades...

OR

( b ) Unfortunately this had been taking place along the cliffside. He gets the idea to cast a spell to cause a controlled landslide to bury another Shade. Unfortunately it also makes the ground below to become unstable. One wrong step and Van is getting swept up in an additional rockslide that is going to cast him off of one of the cliffsides. ]


( Wilders Training )

[ Okay so Vanitas had originally been there for other reasons. He just so happens to come across the recruitment people and others interested in taking part. That's why he shows up at the training grounds. When someone asks if he is a new recruit? He brushes them off and says that he's just here to watch.

But if a Mirrorbound were to try to convince him... That might change things. Or he'll just watch Mirrorbound and their partners attempt to train people and scoff from the sidelines. ]

( he pulls van up, taking his eyes off of the mesmerized chimera and the cultist, taking hold of van's hand and making sure that there aren't any others looking for a fight. )

No use staying here... hopefully none of them will remember our faces.

( because that's the last thing they need. he helps van to the alleyway's entrance. )

[ As they go though... Vanitas manages to conjure up a fireball and launch it at their enemies. Again, the aim is off but it ignites the trash nearby and the smoke will cover their tracks for the time being. ]

They probably won't.

[ Won't forget them he means. Van's voice is raspy but he seems to be recovering just fine. ]

I'll hunt them down later. No playing hero about it.

[piromare]

( the fireball makes lio's eyes widen. fire... he loves fire. how couldn't he? except this fire is more of the normal variety; it lacks the iridescence that his own had what seems like a long time ago.

he's a little distracted, as he has to tear his eyes away as he continues to lead them away, back into a more populated street. )

Don't do it alone, if you're planning on it. Doing anything alone here would be stupid.

[ Van's aren't quite the regular sore of fire either. This flames are tinged with a bit of Darkness. It's more a black and purple color.

Hopefully Lio doesn't mind that Vanitas is sort of leaning against him a bit. ]

I can handle it. They just surprised me this time.

( black and purple... closer than originally thought, then. they're pretty amazing. just like van! )

So if there were six? Seven? They might not need to surprise you if they overwhelm you instead.

( this is when he wraps one wing around van. )

You think I couldn't handle six or seven?

[ ...If they are of moderate strength or power then probably not. However Vanitas is convinced that they'd be severely weaker than he. He can handle a bunch of weak enemies.

Though he does understand and acknowledge his limit. ]

I don't want to find out when you find your limit.

( and that wing tugs at van. )

This doesn't seem like the best time to do that.

[ Yes yes wing! Vanitas is coming. He's not sticking around to create more mayhem. ]

Why not now? I still need to show them why it was a bad idea to come after me.

Don't think you need to do that, either. They'll probably keep sending people at you, whenever you least expect it.

( he finally lets his wing return, back to his back. )

Which is why... I'm going to keep following you, too.

What do you mean you're going to keep following me? Again?

[ Hadn't Lio said something similar? Back during the wolf incident? Does Vanitas really need such "protection?" ]

You're my friend. Of course I'm going to follow you... and you're important to people that aren't me, too.

( he's not just looking out for van, but also for those who feel the same (or stronger) than him. )

Besides, if they keep coming for you and find us both, it'll make me a target too.

( which is what he wants. kind of. )

[ Ah the "f" word. It makes Van scrunch his nose a bit and yet he doesn't deny it either. Van can just see Sora also rubbing it in his face. Vanitas has friends! ]

It's also important to put down a threat so it can't come back to get you later.

[ Just throwing that out there for consideration. ]

But why would you need to be a target?
