but, you don’t need any more of his ire today. he looks interested enough (no, he really does look interested. you have shown a neanderthal fire. ]

What kind of energy does it run on?

A lithium ion battery.

[ That probably sounds like gibberish, but don't ask him to explain it. Akira has no idea how it actually works. ]

I'd turn it on, but it's almost out of energy and I don't think I can recharge it here... [ He slides it back into his bag. ] It can't call here, anyway.

[ Now he peers over at Eren. ] You really don't have anything like this in... [ A pause, recalling. ] Paradis?

[ yelling eren voice: A WHAT

but, since that seems pretty clear already, eren won’t . . . push, not this time. he doesn’t even know the basics, he can’t hope to understand the mechanics even if he. well. hoped he would. ]

We have radios now. They’re— they have wires. [ he just blatantly doesn’t know how it works beyond some nerd lingo and the use of “wavelengths”. It’s complicated. ] And we can send messages to other bases.

[ "Bases"... is it a military thing? Eren's world seems so different from his own. Akira may be having his own difficulties adjusting to this new settings, but adapting to what seems like an older time period certainly must be easier than being thrown forward. ]

Then think of it like an advanced radio without wires. [ That also runs on magic. Akira also doesn't actually know how that works, but he's not going to question it. At least not right now.

He thinks about telling Eren that it can send written messages, too, but... probably best not to overload him. ] ... You'll figure it out.

[ His gaze shifts towards the door. ] Are you thinking about going to that festival?

[ (interested grunting)

but, not for the festival. eren looks up for the watch and is actually glad for what he sees as faith in him, apparently a caveman. his brows scrunch, and he does plan to go through the door, walking towards it, but . . . ]

Not for the festival. [ there was. way too much going on for him to think about festivities. ] I’m going to map the place out. [ . . . ] Are you?

[ Honestly? That's probably a more productive plan than Akira's, which is to go get something to eat (he thinks he overheard someone mentioning free food?) and try to figure out a bit about this culture they've suddenly been thrown into.

Breaks are important, after all, and with the day he's been through, he thinks he needs one. ]

Yeah, I want to check it out. [ Something he should get on before the sun starts to rise. ] I'll see you around? I'd like to hear if you find anything interesting.

[ He'd ask Eren to call him in the event of any such findings, BUT..... ]

[ eren’s a team player dude. he nods in agreement, because surely— why would he keep anything interesting to himself? ]

We’re all on the same boat. [ consider him on a call list, even if it isn’t actually voiced. He’s about to turn to leave, but then swerves back around. ] —It was nice to meet you.

[ watch in his hand— he gestures. don’t worry, you’re forgiven. ]

[ Good to know! Akira returns the gesture with a quick raise of his hand, a motion to say goodbye. ]

Nice meeting you.

[ And he heads out the door, off towards the sounds of the festivities. ]
