[ Mrs. Mittens struggles momentarily in his grip, but Akira holds fast, watching as Izuku rapidly draws something in his notebook. When the finished product is turned towards him, he considers it with interest. ]

... I like the mask. [ He would. ] Looks cool.

[defendure]

Right? But, see, he covered up a lot more area for the winter uniform, and you can't see it but the material is different as well...

[ Please stop him he will ramble about this forever if you let him, Akira. ]

[scaling]

[ Too bad Akira is giving this the same sort of interest he gives most things, politely listening to and nodding along with Izuku's comments.

Mrs. Mittens, on the other hand, is having none of it. As if sensing his distraction, she gives a sudden jerk in his arms, trying to get free. It's only through quick reflexes that Akira manages to secure his arms around her middle before she can completely leap free of his grip. ]

... That was close. [ Her feet are dangling free now and her claws digging into his arm, but hey, they don't have to start this search from scratch again. ]

[ OOPS... ]

Luckily, the house is just up there - see the one with the red door?

[ So Mrs. Mittens might also have been making that escape attempt because she knows the true end is NEAR... ]

[scaling]

[ Akira lifts his gaze from the cat to seek out said house, finding their destination well within sight. Good thing—if they take much longer, Mrs. Mittens might jailbreak her way right out of his arms. ]

Ah, look at that. You're almost home.

[ The claws stay dug in as they approach the door. ]

[defendure]

[ She just wants her FREEDOM!!!!!!

Izuku laughs a little, apologetic and sheepish, and he'll knock on the door as soon as they're there...

One transaction later, he counts out half of the money to hold out to Akira. ]

I have to admit I feel a little bad...

[scaling]

[ Introductions are shared with the owner and goodbyes are said to Mrs. Mittens, and once the door is closed, Akira accepts his part of the payment with his thanks. All in all, not bad—he made a new acquaintance in Izuku, got to hold a cat, and got paid for it. Not how he saw his day going, but this is much better than any plans he could have had.

He glances up from tucking the money into his bag. ]

For bringing her back? [ She did seem pretty put out about it. Akira doubts the owner mistreats her; she probably just wants adventure. ]

[defendure]

Well, more for ending her adventure...

[ She just wanted her FREEDOM - which she will surely get again. ]

I think she's very happy at her home, but she must have just wanted to go play around...I can understand that feeling.

[scaling]

I get that, too. [ A soft noise of amusement. ] She'll probably find her way out to play again.

[ Inevitably. Once she wants to get out to play, she'll find an opening, and some other poor souls will end up tracking down the slipperiest cat he's ever met.

But that's a concern for another time. Akira shoulders his bag and offers a smile. ]

Well, thanks for letting me help. It was fun.

No problem, Akira-kun!

[ Izuku's stowing his money away in his own bag. ]

I'll let you go for now, but we should team up again sometime. Um...maybe on purpose from the start, next time?

[scaling]

Sounds like a plan.

[ They did work well together for having only just met each other. No cat will go unrescued as long as they exist in this city!! ]

I'll see you around, Izuku-kun.

[ And as he heads off, Akira offers a parting wave. ]
