In the first place, with or without magic, people make connections with each other all the time. I don't think a Bond is that different from the other kinds of promises people choose to make to each other. Like ... deciding to move into the same place, or starting a business together! [ She touches a hand over her heart, lightly. ] Of course, sometimes promises get broken. You can't always predict how people might change. But what you can do is make sure you keep communicating your feelings to each other, so you both understand how the other feels.

Even if that person decides they don't want to stay Bonded with you after all, it's not as though you're stuck, or it doesn't mean you can't still be friends after. Maybe it just means they decide the Bond isn't something they want. If you both agree it's not working out, you can always just annul it.
