He frowns sympathetically, but quickly looks for the bright side. It's hard to imagine Peridot ever being useless.

"I bet you can figure this stuff out! You just need some time to learn, right? You figured out all kinds of Earth stuff just by experimenting!"

"I suppoooooose," Peridot admits reluctantly, in that drawn out groaning tone she always slips into when she's depressed. Steven has a point, but, she probably just needs a few minutes to mourn the loss of her powers before she can adapt.
