Kai
"That's quite alright. Bites are far from the worst things I've experienced. It helps if there aren't any adverse effects that comes with the bite too," Newt says. He only glances up at the other for a moment before returning his attention to the cat. He wonders if the other will let him pet it...
"I'm sure he's just a bit startled. New scenery can be a lot to acclimate to. At least, my friends aren't too fond about our new location," he says with a small laugh. "Your friend is quite darling, really." He'd, of course, find any animal darling.

It doesn't do much to endear the cat, but Newt is sizing this man up as if he's considering climbing him. At this point Kai figures either he'll take it, or he'll change his opinion on Newt being darling. "I can't blame him for being unhappy at the transition. If I thought it would help, I'd start biting things."

He keeps his arm outstretched to the other and waits for them to decide what they want to do instead of approaching. "Yes. Sudden change in scenery can really stress an animal out. It's why they need some time to acclimate proper to new settings. We don't really get that option with wherever we are though.

Newt does in fact decide to start climbing the man, claws digging in as he makes his ascent.
"He'll be fine, just needs some tuna and a chance to settle down." That part's easy, probably. Kai's less sure about the long-term affects of being here.

"I don't think he's the only one who'll need a bit of time to settle down," Newt says as he turns his attention to the other. "It would be presumptuous to assume we'll only be here for a moment." It would certainly be nice, but he's doubtful that this is more than just a quick stop.

"It would be presumptuous of them to keep us any longer," Kai says. His face continues though, into a frown. "Of course, the same could be said of showing up here in the first place." The whole situation is a mess, and Kai doesn't do well with messes like this.

"Well, I don't actually think their intention was for us to arrive, if I'm being perfectly honest." If there was actual intention, then he would imagine that returning them would be more plausible, but it doesn't seem like they had anyone here to greet or expect them. That, and- "I imagine that we'd have someone here waiting to greet us, but the only person I saw ran off in a panic." Which is telling that their arrival was probably unexpected.

At least this time seems a little better. "I hope this time can stay away from war." But he can't pretend he's pleased. "It feels like the sort of thing someone would be responsible for, though, even if not those specifically here."
