Mm - different figures from my world's mythology and folklore. My primary one is Izanagi, effectively one of two creation gods in Japanese legend.

[ Well, actually a creation god. But Souji is treading lightly when it comes to that, because he doesn't know what kinds of places that other people come from, what they might believe or know. ]

[It might be immediately obvious that England also comes from Earth, because his immediate reaction is disbelief.] Yeah, I've heard of him.

Do you mean literally? [Surely he doesn't go around summoning the gods themselves, right? It's probably some representation or avatar.]

With Izanagi, maybe. [ Look, after you face down a being that claims to be Izanami, and she... sort of pulls out all the stops, you kind of start to consider that. How else would he have gotten his powers, if not through actual divinity? ]

The others are manifestations brought on by the collective consciousness of mankind, so they reflect what we know of their folklore and tales, but I don't think they're the exact representation.

[The Izanagi thing still sounds insane, but the rest is a much more palatable and reasonable explanation. His expression relaxes somewhat, though there's still a crease to his brow that indicates intrigue.] Interesting. Are all people from your world capable of summoning these beings?

[ Izanagi is... complicated. Souji is trying to pretend that it doesn't bother him, that he can't hear any of his Personae. It leaves a void that the magic hasn't filled. ]

No, only some people. There were special circumstances that they went through to actually accomplish it, and it's a dangerous process, plus a deeply personal one that can be hard to face.
