[semi-closed] 🔶 the soap opera of his life begins
Who: Ferran Gallagher & CR
When: Deceuer
Where: Karen's Patisserie, the Light/Karin/Rikku house, and around town.
What: Catch-all! Closed threads and a wildcard for any new cr (hit me up below!)
Warnings: nothin
A. 2nd | Closed to Lightning
[Between Rikku's injuries and his own emergent problems, Ferran is certainly having a time of things as he tries to keep himself occupied. Between small jobs, working with his magic, learning about this world, and obsessing over any potential future changes, physical or otherwise... ugh, maybe he should look for some kind of steady employment. It would take out some of the anxiety, at least.
He's not thinking of the place as an option when he steps inside, but the thought occurs to him as he walks up to the counter, intending to order something nice for himself so he can try to relax and stop thinking (and thus worrying) so much. His fur-lined cape is drawn closely enough around him to hide the still-fragile flaps that could technically be called wings, in an attempt to keep them from being touched by the cold. It's only mostly successful.]
B. 4th | Closed to Leanne
When Rikku is finally allowed to go home to rest, Ferran's hovering takes him that way as well—and although he hadn't sought out the naga who was responsible for the situation, he finds himself sharing the space with her more often than he was anticipating. Even though she seems to have their mutual bond's well being in mind, their proximity in relative privacy draws up his defenses significantly.
And, well, the best defense is a good offense.
A day or two after they meet, he pulls her aside for a moment with a light touch on her shoulder, a serious but carefully neutral expression on his face.
"Can we speak outside for a moment?"
Wildcard.

lumieresdedragon and we can figure something else out! This month, Ferran can be found buying a few art and baking supplies and small Modranicht decorations, as well as studying illusions and enchantments in the Coven library. He could also be roped into the Written in the Stars or Personal Shopping quests!]

[... well, milk is what he went with back home, but this is like Fantasy Victorian England. You have to have cream. Either way—he pulls out the creamer before closing the cabinet and steps over to the fridge to get out of Sanji's way.]
Do I seem like I have a sweet tooth?
no subject
[Nonetheless, Sanji starts plating the food, making sure that everything looks perfect, not just presentable. If there's something he's anal about, it's definitely his own cooking. But with the two plates ready, he makes his way back to Ferran and places the finished spicy seafood pasta in front of Ferran.]
Time to eat.
no subject
I'll try not to take that the wrong way.
[Seriously, what's that supposed to mean! As Sanji is doing his thing with the plates, Ferran pours tea for both of them before he sits down to eat properly. Well, first he has to admire the artistry, of course, as any appreciator of fine food must.]
My thanks to the chef.
no subject
But it's all okay, because there's now wonderful food in front of Ferran and tea's been made, so Sanji is in a pretty good mood. It helps that Ferran isn't a complete barbarian and hasn't ruined his hard work yet by faceplanting into the dish.]
...You're welcome. Go and dig in, made it for you.
no subject
If you insist.
[He eats with his typical good table manners, grateful for the meal and the company. If Sanji doesn't follow suit quickly enough, though, he'll be shot a questioning look.]
no subject
The meal is quieter than what he's used to. He honestly doesn't have much to say, but it's still nice. Sanji takes a small sip of his tea, before placing the cup down.]
It's good tea.

I'm not sure it's anything special, but if you like it, I guess that's all that matters.
[A thought occurs to him, though.]
You know, you've seen me at my worst a couple of times, but... I don't feel like I know much about you yet. [Not that he's asking to see Sanji at his worst.] What do you do for fun, other than cooking?
no subject
What he does for fun, huh?]
Exploring new towns, learning their style of cooking. [So, still cooking related, but.] Did a lot of that back home with my crew.
no subject
I always enjoy traveling, myself. [It's nice to know they have some things in common.] What kind of crew do you mean?
no subject
[Guess a small detail he's forgotten to tell Ferran. Usually he doesn't have to tell people back home, but yeah, things are different here.]
I'm a pirate. I'm sailing with the future king of pirates. [The sentence may sound ridiculous, but Sanji is completely serious. Luffy is going to be king of the pirates and that's a fact.]
no subject
What, like a prince of pirates? [Is there a pirate monarchy??]
no subject
No, a king. Whoever finds One Piece becomes the king of the pirates. [He's still 100% serious about all that.]
no subject
[There are too many weird terms being thrown around with this guy, honestly. One piece? What a boring name. One piece of what???]
What exactly does being king of pirates mean? I thought pirates were all out for themselves.
no subject
It means what it means, you're the king. Guess you can call it a title, like being called the 'Greatest Swordsman.' You'll be the greatest pirate if-- when my captain finds One Piece.
no subject
[Ferran doesn't really get it—sure, it would be satisfying to find a treasure that no one else could discover, but is that enough to call someone a king? Is the satisfaction all that comes with the "title"?]
What happens after that?
no subject
[Would the Marines chase Luffy to the very end? Would other pirates start to hunt him down to get One Piece? A lot of things could happen, so he just doesn't think about it.]
Haven't thought that much ahead. Luffy isn't one to stay still for long though; he'll find a new adventure.
no subject
[Pirates can go on and live their weird lives and Ferran will judge from afar for the lack of plan.]
Well, it gives you the chance to learn a lot about different places, so I can understand that part.
