[ Cruel felt like a bit of a stretch, but it was certainly selfish. It wasn't as if she had anywhere truly pressing to be, and even in her current state, Mikasa was not poor company.
However... it was pretty revealing, wasn't it? That Mikasa didn't want her to go away... ]
You're lonely.

Nahh. It was boredom.]
No one has died here, not like home. [SUCH A HIGH standard. She wasn't lonely, because no one she cared about had kicked it.] It's peaceful. [So much peace, in her chaotic disaster of a life.]

[ Peace was not, after all, a substitution for contentment. ]

The people here aren't hungry... If time is still, then I don't need to worry about people dying back home. [It was free time. So much free times, multiple months of it. More than she'd ever had.
And it gets a little wave of her sharp limb, it reaching out a little.] And I'm not alone. There are people here, even people from home. Like the midget and Eren.
[The friends she'd made here, the people from back home.]

[ Maybe it was a little heavy to talk about, but under the lunar influence, what might seem "madness" to others Eileen knew to be "clarity", well beyond what humans were normally capable of. Scruples and ideals all conflicted internally in the consciousness of the human mind, and the further released from those, the true essence of a person was so much more... honest. ]

It really was complicated. On one hand, she didn't dislike this city. It was nice here, peaceful. If she had no responsibilities or people to return to, then she wouldn't have been upset about being here. But there was the rumbling, too many people that needed her. Even if the people she cared about was here, she couldn't just let the rumbling continue.
So the fae hesitates.]
...I guess. It's okay.
[Delivered so blankly, such enthusiasm. And Mikasa tilted her head, leaning slightly.] What about you? [100% not deflecting.]

[ Which could only explain so much, couldn't it? Why had she fallen back into Hunting so easily, despite the different nature of her Prey. Why did she still wear her mask, still carry the Crow Hunter's badge? Still keep the Hunter's Mark in her mind? ]
This world, however... is not made for people like me.
[ No, despite all that, she was still a 'foreigner' in this world, just as much as she had been in Yharnam... And what's more... ]
Nor is it made for people like you.

Even then. They'd only been let out of those cells to protect Eren. If they hadn't then they'd have been crushed inside that cell. But now Eren had started the rumbling what would become of them. Would they be free to go now that it didn't seem like they could do anything to stop the destruction? Or would they be lined up and shot for not falling into line from the start?
Even if they could live physically after that, there was the knowledge of what they'd failed to do. Armin's death via the curse.
It sure was a conversation that absorbed all the fae's boisterous cheer away as she visibly deflated. Antenna and ears flat. Wings folded shut, secondary arms almost glancing the ground.
This place felt off. Almost boring with how peaceful it was at times, it's own problems felt like nothing compared to what she was used to. But at the same time...] Like me? [It's only a mumble as the fae thinks some more.
Then her wings spread giving a small flutter, magic shaping around her in an illusion. Cloaking her appearance. This was too much thinking for her.
... But she doesn't leave. She appears again a few seconds later. Back in the low branches of the trees as she tried to think of a way of getting the Granny back for making her think so deeply when she'd been in a good mood.]

Eileen wasn't particularly great at social cues, but the knowledge that she'd soured the mood with the gloom she carried with her wasn't out of her reach, and she let out a soft little sigh, and a mirthless chuckle. Of course, she's spoiled things... Weight down Mikasa with things she hardly needed to hear at that time.
Reaching, she pulled away her cowl, another hand removing her mask, exposing her face and her guilty expression, staring back down at the leather shape. ]
What a damned fool you can be, from time to time, you old crow...
[ Mikasa's reappearance, for the moment, escaped her attention. ]

As was the noise of what she was doing. The slight cracking and popping as small branches of leaves got broken off. Then the noise of her wings, that was only dulled as she jumped and glided over the harpy.
Just dumping all the leaves she'd gathered into her arms onto the old lady. Her mantis limbs clinging to the building again as she peered down. No, she wasn't getting close to prank... Also, geuess that mask was full of leaves now too.]

It wasn't quite like a switch, but Eileen only had to spend a moment in the shower of dead leaves before her expression started to shift, a smirk pulling at her lips. ]
Well I suppose that's how we'll have it, then. [ A small chuckle, and she let her gaze lift towards where Mikasa had landed.
... And suddenly, a wind-devil flashed into existence, brought about by Eileen's own power, to drive the piles she'd dumped on the crow back at her mantis friend. ]

Then a hiss as her eyes and wings glint, then the fae was hiding in an illusion completely again.
...She flitting away under her cover. Will come back for VENGEANCE once she has worked out how to deal with the unexpected magic.]

[ Mikasa had seen her use it before, at least a little bit, using the winds to lift her up for particularly wide leaps or long glides, but nothing quite like she had just then. And while she couldn't see Mikasa, she could tell she was still nearby.
But Eileen was smiling, enjoying the game, all of the sudden. ]
