It's not just the tempering Irhya has to contend with, trying to deal with Lahabrea. Eons of mismanagement and poor choices has left some fairly profound differences between him and the Ascian she knew far better in Emet-Selch. Such as the Architect is still able to function as a normal living being, and make actual rational decisions. Not just ones that sound good on paper, or are completely deranged, with little inbetween. Irhya's still struggling to treat Lahabrea like a normal person.
He hasn't been anything close to that for a very, very long time.

Were the Praetorium and your disposal of that delightful little toy not between us I would still have no reason to wish to give you my time."

There should be more of a reaction than there is, to her continued implications and hints. In anyone else there might be. Questions, demands, insistence that she explain herself - reasonable reactions to confusing elements she should not know.
