(Closed) Time to build a cart and a friendship!
Who: Rikku and Leanne
When: 9/17 (backdated to before the event)
Where: Leanne's place
What: Cart-building not!date
Warnings: Probably none? This is mostly them getting to know each other.
[If she has to be honest with herself, Rikku isn't sure if she's overdressed or underdressed for the occasion. She's meeting with Leanne in person for the first time, and it seems as if meeting a possible bondmate warrants dressing up. On the other hand, the practical purpose for the visit is to make a cart to help Leanne get around, which means whatever she wears is liable to get dirty. In the end, she's settled for something in the middle: a decently-nice dress without a lot of extra ornamentation that would get in the way.
She approaches Leanne's home, cart in tow, and takes a deep breath. If things don't work out, she'll be okay--she has purchased a few potions and is currently on the hunt for a familiar, so she's much less panicked about her situation--but she has to admit she has her hopes pretty high. Hopefully she and Leanne get along.
Here goes nothing. Knock knock.]

Hi Leanne! It's Rikku!

On the table before her was a pot of tea of her own blending brewing and a lemon cake, as well as lemon bars and tarts. She wasn't sure what type of lemon treat Rikku liked so she gotten different types.
Her wings perked up at the sound of the knocking and she goes to call out.]
Please come in Rikku! I am in the living room.
[Oh goddess, please... Please let them be compatiable.]

After a moment, she scolds herself internally. 'Don't stare, Rikku! You have to make a good impression!' So she looks away. And then looks back less staring-ly. And smiles again.
Yeah, she's nervous.
Luckily, there is hospitality to be commented on! Better that than standing there in awkward silence.]
Those treats look really good! You say you got them from where you work?

It's okay to look at them. I realize that not everyone is born with wings, my lady Rikku.
[A few more giggles before nodding her head.]
Yes, at least one of my jobs. I also work at the orphanage so I try to bring treats to the little nestlings there as well.
I hope you like them, I try to pick the ones that you mentioned that you like. The tea I made to go with them is a floral tea mixed with strawberries and blueberries to help balance the lemon of the deserts.

S-sorry. It's just that back where I come from, there aren't really people with wings. For what it's worth, I think they're really pretty.
[Rikku takes a seat and tries to make herself comfortable despite herself. The treats and tea smell really nice, which certainly helps put her at ease.
At the mention of the orphanage, she perks up.]
You work at the orphanage? I just started there--I worked a shift with my friend Sora, and it was a lot of fun. It's really nice to be surrounded by kids like that. I'm just one of two, and my brother is a lot older, and I always wished I could have more brothers and sisters, you know?
I hope I'll see you there sometime soon. I bet you're really good with the little ones.

There is no need to apologize, my lady Rikku. But, thank you for your kind words about my wings.
[Once Rikku takes her seat, Leanne moves at once to pour her a cup of tea before smiling up at her.]
Which would you like first?
Yes, part time but I am hoping to be picked as one they choose to make full time. I wonder way I haven't seen either you or this Sora.
[She gains a sad smile and nods.]
I would like to think I am. I do enjoy playing with them.

Speaking of... she looks at the offerings. Leanne definitely went out of her way, didn't she?]
It's hard to pick--they all look so cute! Maybe that one? [She points to one of the tarts.]
And to be fair about the orphanage thing, I've only been there the one time. I'm sure I'll see you there eventually.
And playing with them is the best part! We had a huge game of tag when I was there, and it was a lot of fun.
[Hrrrk. That's right, mobility is an issue for Leanne right now.]
And once we get your cart up and running, you can join in next time!

The tart? It is rather cute, isn't it?
[She bends over to cut a slice of the tart to place it carefully and gently on a plate and hands it over to the Al-Bhed girl.]
I shall pray that we do meet there eventually! It would be rather fun, I believe.
[A soft giggle and a warm gentle smile at Rikku's concern for her current mobility issue.]
It's okay, it is still will be a lot of fun to play. I will be looking forward to the cart. It will be useful until I get used to this body.

I think it'd be a lot of fun, too. I'll keep an eye out for you.
[At the mention of the cart, Rikku gets up to grab a bag from the top of her pile of supplies and brings it back to where they're sitting, handing it over to Leanne.]
Aside from all the working stuff, I brought some decorative touches. I figured you would want it to be pretty as well as functional. Let me know what color ribbons you like out of what's in there.
no subject
And I for you. As well as this Sora.
[Emerald eyes blink as Rikku brings her a bag of things to go through and just smiles. So thoughtful... She really hopes that they can they can become bondmates.]
I will let you know... [She coos and couldn't help that her ears goes to wiggle a little. Though hnnnnn, choosing just one ribbon or just a few will be hard.]
They are all so beautiful.
no subject
Thank you! Some of them are leftover from when I helped my housemate do her hair, but others are ones I bought especially for today. Feel free to pick out as many as you like!
[She takes a moment to stuff her face with a few more bites of the tart before she gets up again.]
Is it okay if I start working on the cart in here?
no subject
I should be thanking you for thinking of this one like this. There are so many to choose from. Thank you so much for your kindness, my lady Rikku!
[Leanne smiles as she watches the other girl stuffing her face, giggling a little.]
Of course, please let me know if there is anything I can do to help.
