They won't? [She doubts, so much doubt. They didn't have healers where she was from, a few doctors. But mostly it was patch up and hope it was enough to not die.]

I'm going to get soft...[Had she already mentioned that? Maybe, it was like she could feel herself losing her edge as she laid about. Even if it was just her mind playing tricks on her. She did not like it.]

[Edelgard's head jerks again.]

And you'll get softer if you manage to hurt yourself before you fully heal and require even more bedrest. Best to be efficient about it, rest until you're healed rather than accidentally prolonging it.

[She slumps, adjusting the crutches so they weren't in her armpit. Was she still taller even with her shrinkage and lack of posture? Not that she could really tell. ]

It's just my leg, the rest of me is fine... They can't heal it anyway. [Not anymore. The actual wound had mostly been healed, but the chitin that should have...kept...things together needed to regrow.]

And? Leg injuries that heal badly can permanently interfere with a soldier's abilities on the battlefield.

[Implacable, Edelgard is unswayed.]

If the healers say you need rest, then you need rest.

[There's a small groanny hiss that tapers out, okay. She's giving in.]

I'm...just tired of seeing the same walls. This place stinks too... [Most of the time it just smelt like medicine. In varying levels of strength depending what was happening. Then there was the occasional smell of blood that made her want to move even more.] I'll go back once I've gotten some air.

[Acquiescence makes her ease up a bit.]

Would you mind company? And...perhaps I can come check on you during your convalescence, now that I know you're here.

[She gives her best attempt at a shrug.]

I can't really stop you if I did mind. Should you be outside though? [The whole vampire thing, Mikasa was a bug, they liked the warm sun. But vampires. Mikasa is going to wait for an answer though.]

I can keep well covered and remain in the shade. Or, simply visit at night. It's little trouble, really.

This place is open at night..? [She guessed it made sense. With the number of nocturnal people and time of day meant nothing to the injured. But she'd not had any nighttime visitors. The nurses had told her of her more persistent ones, the ones who'd turn up every day even if she was sleeping.

But she turns. That answer was good enough for her to hobble out. Get that sweet sweet air.]

...Has Leslie been alright? I saw her in the slums before those creatures attacked. [She hadn't seen the girl at the medical tents. So hopefully that was a good sign.]

[Why wouldn't it be? Edelgard steps out, pulling her hood up and drawing out an enchanted parasol to keep the sun off her.]

She's fine. She's at home, recuperating. She had a fall, but nothing too serious.

That's good. [And with that small bit of good news, she shall hobble forth. Doors while on crutches? No issues here, she just shoulder bashes her way out.

And she is free.

... Just going to stretch her wings out now she wasn't in a cramped hallway. Giving them a flicker, letting them buzz.]

Yes, I think so. She's been pushing herself but not too hard.

[Unlike, you know, Mikasa.]

[She could, but she wouldn't.]

Like when she was running? Has she gotten better at that? It looks like she's put on some weight.

[All good things from what Mikasa had heard.]

She's improving, yes. And...yes, she's definitely putting on weight too. It's good to see. I've been concerned for her wellbeing, but with nourishment she's done well.

[Very well, in fact.]

[It's getting a small nod. The fae's antenna and wings giving a little flit in the breeze.]

I wonder what's going to happen. If she's gotten bigger and she goes back... [Was this where the shot up like weeds phase come from. Kids just coming to some place like this one night, then the next morning they'd have gained an inch.] I've heard that monsters go back to how they were before. But I've not heard about witches.
