Hazard at the Harbor

[Oh boy, this was going to be a bit difficult.

Mira definitely understands the meaning of work and even did some herself when academics were at her limit but there's something really off about this particular factory. Not just because most of the workers were children but there was a weird feeling of...well, someone taking advantage. It was when she talked to one of the workers, a young boy no older than ten summers, that there was not really any means of benefit to them. Great, so are the owners like slumlords except with little kids? Perhaps it is the dark knight side of her who wants to do something like help ruin the machines but how much trouble would the kids get in?

It's why she's outside of this particular factory, leaning on the nearest wall and looking to the one who decided to come and help.]

I'm out of my element on this one. I wish to help the children but ruining the machines will only piss off the owners. How the hells do we get them to listen without the usage of a blade?

[She can threaten a bitch well with Shadowbringer but this is delicate. Need help.]

Out of the City

[This has been the normal for her: going outside the Bright Wall and offer her assistance but it's being of two things as of now: storytelling of adventures of people from her world (she has to tell something as she works on the third Alpha story) but being careful not to spook them too badly. But the newer one...it involves her Alchemy magic. Working in the potions shop has helped her skills greatly because she can make some potions to help boost for a short period of time or if there are those needing healing, her formula has gotten better. But she hears someone shift where she has her work station and doesn't turn when she speaks.]

Hey, careful with those. It took me awhile to make those and staying up all night is something I rather not try to do for the next moon.

[Or maybe you are hearing her tell stories, this one happens to have a hapless mystel trying to be like the hero in the stories he heard from his wetnurse. Reeq may or may not be flattered if he ever knew.]

Forget-Me-Nots

...of course they had to make this difficult.

[Sighing, she puts her hands on her hips and stares down the thorny bushes which held the prize needed. Getting flowers were usually not this hard but there's something about this that screams 'DANGER' when they grow around something sharp.]

Damn, I would use fire but it may burn the flowers as well. Got any suggestions other than cutting them down?

[Asking her partner this. Would it work with large broadswords?]

Closed to Emet-Selch

[It was a normal day after Lunasa and Mira was at the house for an actual day off. It was quiet and thankfully Breezy has stopped bugging her to stay put for a second until she heads outside, noticing what appears to be a postal worker at the gate. Holding up a letter, they hand it to Mira and leave as quickly as they came.]

That's weird. I wonder what this can be...?

[She looks at the address written on the envelope and...stares. Is this for real...?]

Wildcard

((OOC: Got a different idea? Hit me up on Plurk at 'litamaxwell' or throw a starter my way!))

[Emet-Selch had been doing a bit of magic practice in the yard (Evocation; not the sort of thing he could comfortably do indoors- not unless he wanted to destroy bits of the house in the process), though he was taking a break for the moment, sitting against a tree as he decided what to do. Details of what he still needed to improve, whether he felt like continuing or going inside and doing something else- or perhaps just staying outside and resting in the warm summer air.

But his reverie is paused when Mira exits the house, catching a bit of mail delivery. He watches because it was something to watch, and though he can't quite make out her words from where he is, her expression seems clear enough. As for what it means, he has no clue.

And while he doesn't particularly care, why not satisfy an instant's curiosity? So he calls out to her, from his place in the yard.]

Is the news good or bad?

[It's true, she hadn't been that loud, and it's secondarily true that he's bored in that precise moment and Mira's the only person around to entertain him (not that he's not entirely capable of entertaining himself, but talking to her is a whim he feels like indulging at this time).]

Well? The answer isn't going to change by waiting.

[He gestures vaguely at her- Mira, her envelope, her indecision, it's all encompassed in an idle wave.]
