I can handle it...
[Because it was probably best if most of them were here, with her. She'd leave the painful money stuff to him. It'd give her a chance to scoop out this place he'd taken them too, make sure it was safe. So she's okay with it.]
Which of you want to go first?
[She'd let the kids choose if they wanted to go with him for shoes.]

[At first, the kids were a bit daunted at the sight of Mettaton. He's strange and oddly-shaped, tall and different, like nothing they'd ever seen before. But he grins down at them all before planting his palms on his knees, leaning forward toward them just as much as his tall ears do. For the Turnskin and Puca in the group, his obvious interest either wins him points or makes them step back.
However, the Fauns among the orphans step forward, as do some of the curious Witches. The Chimera, too, step forward, registering Mettaton as... well, something kind of like them. What is he? (And normally, they don't see themselves as quite lucky! They want to be lucky.) All in all, a mixed group of Witches, Turnskin, Faun, and Chimera primarily step forward — seven of them, mostly Fauns. It's a manageable group, maybe. Good thing he can touch any of them — the Puca will be more difficult to corral.
Mettaton turns brightly to Mikasa.]
I'll take this bunch, then. You go ahead and get settled in, gorgeous! Toodles!
[And just like that, Mettaton... whisks away his group of seven with a sort of maneuver involving extending his arm and bunching them together, guiding them right back out the door with a sort of bouncy enthusiasm that either confuses the kids, or gets them excited — the bolder ones are the first to go, after all. Their excitability comes more naturally to them.
It will take him a bit. A good hour, at least.]

While Mettaton does that, the fae would busy herself with making sure the kids stayed out of the darker parts of the theater. Keeping them in the main section, where the stage and chairs where. While she made sure there was nothing and no one dangerous in the cubbies, though she couldn't smell anyone and Mettaton had made no mention of there being anyone else here.
She just wanted to be safe.
But she did find some loot for her efforts. She wasn't sure of the actual purpose of the 'beds' she'd found. But she'd dragged what appeared to be two large mats filled with straw out. By the time Mettaon got back, he'd notice that some of the younger kids were taking the opportunity to nap. The elders exploring the stage.
Mikasa was perched, leaning on a chair. Watching them sleep....yes. 1000% not creepy. ]

Mettaton returns with just as much energy as before, all of the kids wearing new shoes, as promised! And yes, of course at least one of the Fauns found a sparkly (yet sturdy) shoe to be an attractive pick... Mettaton only enabled this. (It's fortunate that this isn't a time period where shoes of poor construction are mass-manufactured. Mettaton's taking them somewhere he trusts for Monster shoes, anyway.) One of the Fauns excitedly runs up to Mikasa to show her how good they look, because they like Mikasa and want to show off. They are ready to walk ANY distance.
Mettaton's already asking who wants to go next, and more of the kids, affected by the flashy display of their peers, opt to volunteer: a mixed group of more Monsters and humans.
Before he departs again, Mettaton hops to Mikasa's side an observes the set-up she'd made out of what he readily assumes are mats intended to falsify falls or landings by actors. His return roused some of them, but harder sleepers who are exhausted might still be conked out under her watch. For a moment, the robot kneels at her side.]
You're awfully vigilant... What do you think?
[Of the theater, of the shoes, the kids, whatever.]

Mikasa...Hadn't been expecting much. She'd grown up in the warmest district. Though she had seen a few horses, the merchant ones that would be walking for a long time with socks, when they'd gone on that training exercise. The bleeting faun got a blink as the fae tilted her head, kneeling a little to look... A small nod. ]
They look...comfortable... [Not the best compliment. But it's enough for the calf to start hopping and jumping around so ALL can see their booties. Which meant her and Mettaton could talk without being interrupted. Not that the children had done much of that. Cautious, like she had been at their age.]
It's better than I expected. There's not many draughts or leaks. There are worse places... I'm glad you knew of it.
[It was an attempt at praise. Because it really was a good spot. Possibly a bit too good and she intended to stay just in case someone else had laid claim to it. But compared to the cold warehouse floor this place was amazing.]

Of course. [He tosses his head and flips his hair.] I would know if it, naturally. I spend a lot of my time in these parts, as you'd expect.
[He doesn't shirk his duties when it comes to aiming for the top, but there's not the same sort of impromptu urgency TV has... It's a strange affair, to be among other performers, too. That was the greatest culture shock and many months ago, he even found his spirit battered thanks to the need for competition atop a disfiguring change to his body, where welts and pain and ache were his norm.
Things have gone a long way since then. A boost in comfort meant a boost in confidence, and harnessing his magic and reclaiming his soul helped realign Mettaton. When he told Mikasa in Feoveur that Bonds were a key to feeling all right, he meant that in his case, they were his key to feeling like he had a soul at all. Being an Undertale Monster is suffering.
But this is a lot of introspection for thinking about a place to house some kids. It just happens that Mettaton's making the Entertainment District ever more of his domain, and he's pleased with his progress.]
Someday, I hope even this theater could be used for its intended purpose... But! We can use it in the meanwhile. We may as well! [He flashes her a grin while the Faun child struts their stuff, hopping around erratically. A break in their otherwise stolid demeanor, having weathered unwelcoming conditions beforehand.
Though Mettaton casts an aside glance about the room and pulls a face, wrinkling his nose as he comments lowly,] I hope they give it a different finish. Green? Please. The decor is ghastly in here...

...You spend your time in abandoned buildings? [But she snorts, turning to watch the prancing, ears twitching at the echo of the hooves hitting the wooden floors.]
It will be. [It's certain. Not out of knowledge of that industry or anything. She'd made her lack of knowledge there clear.] It's a large building, it would have been repurposed by now if there wasn't intreast in the performances. [She didn't know theater, but she knew how quickly things would be seized and put to use.
And the mention of the decor makes her look at him. Then at the walls, scanning them.]
...What's wrong with green? It's like being outside... [She liked green...]

[Wake up, Mikasa! Lose yourself to the dizzying lights of the other attractions the Entertainment District has to offer, including, well, Mettaton!!
Or don't.
But she has a point about these buildings remaining vacant and unused for as long as they have. People want performance back, and it's up to performers to make it so. Mettaton feels a fiery determination at the prospect and smiles at the venue, only for her to remind him of his problem with ... the decor.]
What's wrong? This is the shade of green, darling. Come on. You have to agree... It's a sickly color, for being outside!!
[Plus, the pink-and-red deal on top? Not a great combination. Mettaton tsks and shakes his head. It's not terribly important, and it's not like he's either owning this theater nor being paid to redecorate it according to his standards...
(But what if he made a venture out of owning real estate??? Mettaton spaces off for a moment.)
...Before snapping his fingers.]
Well! I have more shoes to buy. More children to lead. You can sit here and think about the outside, if pale green strikes a chord with you... Haha.
[Like he's giving her a dry retort to that, too! Same vein of humor, perhaps. Mettaton can be rather sassy. He wiggles his fingers at Mikasa and bounces to go collect some kids for yet another trip, trips he would take until all of them were properly Shoe'd.]

Ironically for a girl who'd spent the first half of her life living in an isolated cabin in the woods.
But his upset at the decor makes her take another look. Head tilting back to look at the ceiling.] It looks like moss... [She kinda liked it. Reminded her of the dappled light in the woods. How it looked as it went through the trees. Though her lips do pull back into a cringe after a moment.]
I don't like those cravings on the ceiling... [The gold-painted ones. Those looked gaudy, even to her low standards. But he's getting a snort as he leaves again. She's fine watching over the kids that wanted to make use of their new free time by napping. They deserved it.]
