[Like having to use a wooden bucket against the pixies the month before. It has not been fun, they'd kept trying to burn the wood.] Did you have your's?
no subject
I did. Not that it's been of much use here. On the other hand, I'm pretty sure I won't be sprouting actual wings anytime soon, so who knows.
[ it's a tool for a very specific purpose, but sometimes you gotta get creative. ]

She wasn't sure if there was a way to get around that. She'd heard of people powering those phones with magic. But looking into it was a waste when she couldn't use the gear to begin with.]
The guns would have been useful. Blades are usless for fighting here.
[The blood splatter. It carried the infection was impossible to dodge in the thick of it.]

[ listen to him, talking about "wind magic" like it's normal. he's not sure how long it'll take before stuff like that feels natural.
maybe never. ]
Eren told me about the anti-personnel gear. Only because I happened to see him practicing with it, probably.
[ that was weird. ]

[Witches had so many more options to be useful.]
He was? It was made after seeing what the Central Brigade had... [And that guy she was related to...]

He mentioned that, too. Maybe he was just feeling ambitious.
[ or maybe he wanted to impress someone? ]
Yeah. He told me that much, at least.

Maybe. He wanted to heal my hand when he's been learning less than a month. [That makes her look at said hand, the bandage long gone. Like the marking, her mother had inked on her skin. Lost under the chitin which had grown during its last burst.] I know someone whose been here for months and only just learnt how to heal a cut...
[Needless to say, she'd not been willing to let someone with less healing experience try.]
...I don't like the changes. [Some of them didn't seem like much at first. Like the blades being shorter, less suited for cutting titans, more suited for...But her wings give another flicker, sending her a few small centimeters up. Then she fell again. Catching herself easily. Chirping as the urge to run started building up again.]

[ and yet, it is kind of tempting. being able to make minor injuries go away would be pretty convenient. he'll put it on the to-do list.
he watches as she flutters up and then back down. it's... weird to see, honestly. he's not sure how long it'll take to grow used to seeing people he knew as humans as something other than human. ]
I'm assuming they're painful.

They were. [The weird pressure on her back. That had been a relief when the wings finally came out. Though, they were still a bit damp.] Now it just feels werid. [All her life, she'd had four limbs. Now, she had six. What is this? How do they work and move?]
