Oh someone died doing that in training... [Just...casually. Throwing that out there. Her wings giving another fidget, she wanted to move-! Then they move again, a small droning noise emitting where they batted the air sending her up so she can stand instead of crouching here.]

There wasn't anyone to crash into before. [Not that she was that bothered about a tree or building. She'd knocked into both at higher speeds, had the scars to prove she'd gone skidding across the ground like a pebble across a pond. It was Fine.]

Oh.... oof.... [way less cool! The dying... thing. Soren can't seem to stick to wanting to try that out or not. Doesn't seem like it'd be worth your life, just to fly around a bit.]

Still, I'm kinda jealous. I mean, about you getting to be a monster. The witch stuff is way creepy, still. I'd rather grow cool horns and wings anyday! Or be a literal bear. Juza lucked out... bears are so cool...

[That gets a chitter, the wings flaring out for a second.]

Witches can do more useful things. And help people... [It was firm, with a frown. Yes. She was still grumpy about not being able to learn healing magic. She could still learn little things like potions, but most the witches she'd asked had discouraged her, that they could do it better.]

You kidding me? Monsters can do a ton of useful stuff! Just about knowing your strengths and how to use 'em. You can't have too much trouble with that, right? You're smart and strong and skilled-

[-oh. Is that going too far? Soren shuts his mouth, going on is going to embarrass him...]

[At first she's still scowling, but then it slips-] Geh? [Along with whatever that noise was. The strange stutter as she blinked. Did she hear-? People had said those things before...in the milatary though. Where was he getting that from? Did she sound smart? She'd felt pretty dumb talking to a lot of people here. And besides-] But you're those too?

[At least he seemed so to her. More confused than flustered. ]

[for once, Soren's confidence is a boon because he can answer with some all together positive self esteem. As if this is quite obvious, really, casually asserting]

I mean, yeah! I'm pretty great, but so are you! So, I guess that means... it doesn't matter what we ended up as, huh? We're great no matter what, monster or witch.

[Who kicks butt? they do! By being their own hype squad. Even if Mikasa couldn't muster as much cheer or certainty as he could. Not even managing to smile, but he did get a little nod. yesyes]

Maybe...[...Mikasa. Mikasa that is the least sure answer. As she glances around, awkwardly. Unsure if she should say.] One of the fae here, he said I should be proud. That one of the things I learnt can only be done by strong fae.

[Fairy rings, even though she still didn't know how they worked. They just did. Talent~*] It's about the only thing he said, it annoyed that old dragon... [The one she'd made an agreement to share information with. Except...Mikasa wasn't great at gathering infomation.]

[everybody needs a hype squad and if it has to be Soren himself, he'll do it!!]

Yeah? See! You're lucky, what's the special thing you can do? [oh wait, hold up-... hmmm.....]

Which old dragon? [he can hope it's not his very own father, but the hope is low]

[There's hum, thinking about how to answer his question. But the second one is easier to answer.]

Viren I think. Looks like a corpse but no one else seems to notice. [Though she had sensed something about that, not quite knowing what with her baby fae senses.] I owe him from before...

[When she'd picked him up and coddled him. Hindsight was 20/20 because thanks to the other Soren, she now knew coddling a cute little dragon could go very wrong. As in...You could be stabbed in the tit.]

Don't owe him anything! [that came out fast- Uh-]

... I guess you don't know? But Viren... that's my dad. [A he-e-em....]

And yeah. If he says you owe him anything, just ignore that. Or better yet just ignore his whoooole everything.

I've alr- [Given him the information he asked for. But she needs a moment. Head tilting back, large black eyes staring blankly. Blinking, once, twice. Lips parting, closing again,

The silence staring drags on.]

[Sure, he seemed grumpy and looked weird. But not any grumpier than the likes of Levi.]

Why? I don't want to think about why he's my dad. Sounds gross.

[Soren completely misunderstood this question, what can you do]

[Blink...Blink many times as she works out what he meant. Eyebrows furrowing as she rewords.]

...Why should I ignore him?

[It wasn't like they were friends. But the dragon seemed okay to her.]

He's not... trustworthy. At all. He always thinks he's doing the right thing, no matter what, and he's good at convincing other people of that. You can't believe that, not when he's willing to do anything to get what he wants.

[All lessons Soren learned just recently, before his arrival in Aef, but they're fresh. The Viren here hasn't made the worst of his future mistakes, so Soren's certain the dragon version of his father should stay.

But while he's here, Soren needs to make sure he's not manipulating others.]

I never said that I trust him. [It was more like, she'd tried to kidnap him and owed him a favor after. But she chirps, tilting her head. It was strange hearing something like this from a relative... Hmm.

She hadn't noticed the things Soren was warning her of. Because her and Viren had only exchanged information and...The dragon had not been impressed with her meager findings. But she may have missed it, she'd missed so many things.

So she's frowning the next time she speaks.] What kind of things does he want?

[Then she might have more of a chance of spotting it. Maybe??]
