capture
[Even before a call to assist in capturing escaped kittens went out, Sheva has managed to find herself involved in the matter. It seems as though it's by chance, but given the fact that she's feline now herself, it seems more akin to something along the lines of fateful kinship. Between her own scent and that of Ozymandia's sphinx cats, it's likely that she smells of welcome wagon.
Which is exactly what she does the moment she finds not one, but a melange of kittens blinking in and out of a market area with a fountain.
It's proper chaos.
One moment Sheva's trying to coax a little one from the top of an awning and another she's leaning precariously over into the fountain to try and retrieve a kitten with poor spatial awareness while several cry from her open bag only to disappear moments later to pounce on a scurrying beetle.
There's one, at least, that has found itself content to perch and navigate her shoulder while watching the proverbial circus. He's a pile of wiry fuzz, black as night, and has eerily violet eyes that are judging every one of the mirrorbound.
If she catches sight of anyone not helping matters, she's quick to strongly extend an invitation to help.]
Don't just stand there entertained. Give me a hand. [And as an afterthought:] Please.
[Do it for the kittens.]
foster
[The relative chaos has subsided as the kittens all come to realize that Sheva is a good cat mom that provides food and entertainment.
The acquisition and distribution of catmint has assisted greatly. Both in calming the kittens and her own mellowing.
Which leads to the current scenario of the lioness sunbathing on a blanket in the midst of a grassy park area surrounded by a handful of kittens. Her legs are stretched out in front of her with a book in her lap that's since been abandoned due to the white kitten dozing out across it in starfish. Her attention now centers on building arrows, a fresh pile of completed ones to her left.
To occupy the two kittens still in the mood for mischief, her tail tip continues to lightly bop at the blinking monsters while trying to flick away just as they pounce. They seem to be learning how to use their powers at times, but then other times they blink far enough away that she has to ask a passing stranger for help.]
I'm sorry to inconvenience you, but can you bring me the little escapee please?
[The black one still seems rather keen to perch on her shoulders, but sometimes it takes to attacking loose tendrils of hair that have fallen out of her braid.]

capture
Until it's kitten chaos as Nero lifts up a bag he's buying from the table as a frisky striped kitten bounces right across it and towards the fountain. ]
Uh...
[ He raises a brow, turning towards--oh, hey. It's that lady from before. And before he note any verbal recognition, yet another cat jumps out of someone's basket at the smell of another unsuspecting fool walking by with fish. Nero's reflexes, while not as good as they were before arriving, are still pretty damn good and he drop the bag and catches the kitten in it's mid-air leap by the scruff of it's neck. ]
Are these all yours?
no subject
None of them are. [She responds as she attempts to fish out one white kitten that has taken to swimming (happily) in the fountain and another that has joined expecting joy while discovering that it doesn't much like water at all.
Needless to say, she's now mostly wet herself, but diligent to the cause.
There's a moment's pause in her work as she glances over to the familiar face with an exasperated smile as her tail swishes behind her, betraying her agitation.]
Thank you for helping.
[It sounds on the edge of threat more than request, but that's just her frustration. Help her Nero.]

So he just kind of stands there still holding the one kitten when Sheva just straight up tells him that they're not her cats, but she's rounding them up anyway. The fact that it does not compute is very clear on his face. ]
Uh huh...
[ What's he missing, here? ]
So this is just a hobby? Pretty sure there's a saying about herding cats and it isn't supposed to be fun.
[ But he'll hold out this one to her if she wants to add it to her collection. No skin off his nose. Except for any potential skin lost to said cats. ]

He’s still standing there and she lifts her eyebrows expectantly before glancing at the kitten with a bit of a smile. Then her attention returns the displeased kitten in the water, who keeps trying to teleport away from the water only to end up slipping back into it with a sad, soulful complaint.]
Do you just walk by animals in trouble and ignore that?
[Mr. Twenty Tries and no Prize better stop his judgment on her helping out kittens as someone who’s clearly now part feline.]
Unless you can’t catch more than one cute little kitten? They are fast, after all.
no subject
Of course if she does it will absolutely work, but that's the besides the point. ]
Lost kittens are usually the least of my problems.
[ Will he climb up a tree to fetch one? Probably. But that's also besides the point.
That's definitely a challenge. Nero narrows his eyes. ]
How many did you lose?
no subject
Same here. I used to combat biologically engineered creatures. [It’s said as she attempts to lure the poor, distressed kitten in the fountain towards her.] Adaptation is the key to survival.
[It’s not a bad look to save kittens Nero. Quite the opposite. Quit complaining.]
I didn’t lose them. I think there are... Six? A few look close enough alike that it’s difficult to say.
no subject
I'm guessing there's a story behind that. We're talking about more than GMO corn, right?
[ He's hilarious. ]
So you're finding someone else's lost cats. Gotcha.
[ Well, whatever. He's done weirder errands, really. ]
How many've you got so far?
no subject
[Yes, more than GMO corn. Welcome to the tip of the iceberg in regards to the Earth in which she hails. She fully expects him to have questions, and perhaps he’ll want to hear the answers enough to stick around and help with the kittens.]
Are you saying you’ve never gone hunting for lost pussy before?
[Somehow, she imagines to deliver that entirely deadpan, but there’s an amused smirk tugging at the edge of her mouth.
It’s just in that moment that she’s able to finally snag the poor soggy one from the fountain, clutching and consoling the poor thing to her chest.]
Two now!

Of course once she says that, Nero has to stop and double-take. Did she really--? His mouth hangs open for a second like he might actually respond, but the way that his face almost looks a little pink probably says enough.
No one says it like that on accident.
Nero clears his throat and immediately shifts his attention elsewhere. ]
--Great. So four more. Tried the fish market? Cats like...fish.
[ That's helping, isn't it? ]
