That's my finger. Not food. [ Though it's not painful, so he doesn't particularly mind. Jean gives the little chick a pat on the head, finding the tiny bird sort of cute. The others also start emerging from their shells, wading over curiously and chirping persistently for food. ]

Aah, looks like they're all whining now. The nearest market is a while away. Do we just -- look for bugs for them?
