July catch-all
Who: Mu and you!
When: Throughtout July
Where: Around aefenglom
What: Catch-all including quest and open prompts
Warnings: none atm
1) Odd-jobs
Mu learns quickly of the culture here, including the months. It is now summer with a blanket of oppressive heat, the air is heavy and humid, with occasional thunderstorms from the past week. Being a witch, he attended the classes at the coven once a week. He was an eager student, wanting to learn as much as possible, and study everything at the coven, but eventually, after classes, he is on his own.
Mu went searching for work. It seems to be the most sensible thing to do in a new world as there is nothing in his bank. He tried to find any job he could find, having no valuable skill of his own and starting from rock bottom.
He tried modeling, wearing whatever fashion they have to blend in with the fashion of this society until he convinced people that he looks like a gentleman. For a while, he works as a model and earned it until they told him they don't need him anymore, beaten by a better-looking gentleman that sold more outfits with his looks and charm skills, which Mu lacked, and so he is out of work in this area.
There was an opening at a bakery, and he works there for a few days before they told him they didn't need him anymore as they already have more than enough workers and they let him go. They were nice about it as they did gave him a dozen of cheerloaves as their thanks. He learned how to make cheerloaves and put magic in them to cheer people, at the very least, and that food can be enchanted.
He works in the apothecary to prepare ingredients and mix potions, and learn several things about raw ingredients from parts of animals and plants with magical value, mixing them into actual potions. He has gotten very good at making potions, that the owner decided to keep him as an apprentice on a long-term basis.
For now, that's how Mu's first weeks went. At the end of the month, he is well-to-do, receives clothes of his own, and can even afford tools and materials for his spellswork.
2) Blink and Miss 'Em
Mu searched the city for the kittens. They're not ordinary kittens as he learns they can play tricks and teleport from one space to another, but he figured out their limitations that they cannot teleport at least 20 ft. With quick relaxes and good sight, he is chasing them all over to catch them and bring them back to Pile's Petagorium.
3) Dopplegangers
It was risky, but he had tried the potion with every sense that it may or may not work. To his wonderment, after he drank a potion, he created a doppleganger, a twin of himself! He stares at his clone, his twin quite helplessly.
Thankfully, while his clone has a mind of his own, he is generally mild-mannered but he causes trouble for him, by not staying close to him, being disobedient, and run wild and amok in the city. Stealing food from the vendors and wandering around the city, not listening to a word to the original Mu had said.

Starting with the part time jobs prompts and then go from there.
She on the other hand.... Couldn't really bake to save her life and after a few threats of being fired, she finally gotten the hang of baking. Consider her bewilderment to see Mu working there for a few days. Though Leanne was fired before he was and she was carrying her own bag of of cheerloaves and frowns as she catches sight of Mu leaving the bakery with his own bag.
Leanne ponders a moment to see if she should offer him comfort before walking up to him. "They.... They fired you as well? I thought you were doing a lot better job at it than me."
no subject
"Hello...? Oh, it's you. I remember you. That night at the carnival."
Carrying his bag of loaves, while being approached. With a casual shrug, "It was a short term job and I wasn't a good cook. They didn't need me."
no subject
"Hello... My lord. I remember you as well." So much blushing.
Though at his words, she blinked and tilts her head. "Really? You seemed to have done a much better job than one as myself." She goes to let out a sigh. "At least they made sure that we are fed."
no subject
"My Lady about that night. I was behaving unseemingly to you. There was a spell that was casted, so I didn't know what I was doing. I didn't like dancing at all. So, if you dislike it, you can forget all about it."
no subject
"You have no need to apologize my lord. I wasn't myself that night as well. I was behaving in a rather lewd way and I must offer my apologies to my lord if I made him uncomfortable with my actions. Even if you dislike dancing, you are a rather great dancing partner and I did, enjoy myself. So have no fear about offending this one."
no subject
"I didn't know it was a spell. Should I have known, I would have asked for a dance being myself, coming from me, and not from the spell. I never danced before, so I can't tell whether I like it or dislike it."
He wanted to make it clear that everything that happened that night is a spell, and not coming from him.
"So I was worried if I made an impression on you. If I was being forward. I never danced before. The spell made me do it."
no subject
Leanne smiles and shakes her head, trying her best to ease his worries even a little.
"Please my lord, you do not have to explain yourself. I believe that everyone was under a spell. Me, being quite lewd, even towards you. I am not usually that bold or lewd, my lord."
She was blushing now quite a bit at the memory and now, shame and embarrassment for it as well.
"Please, put your worries at ease my lord. I know that the spell made you do it." She spoke in a gentle voice still having a happy-go-lucky smile on her face. "I shouldn't keep you any longer my lord. I still think it was a shame that they fired you as well."
no subject
"You are not any of that, I assure you. I didn't give you my name, haven't I? I am Mu, by the way. And...and it doesn't matter. I don't think I last long in that kind of work anyway."
no subject
"My lord Mu? I am glad that my lord doesn't see me as any of that. I am known as Leanne." She blushes a little before tilting her head. "If I may be so bold as to ask why you think that?"
no subject
At her question, "Before I arrived here, the world I was from. I am well-versed in the power of mind. I can move objects with my mind, making it appear and disappear. I spend a lifetime as a child studying my powers. So baking bread is something I could do, but there is untapped power of Cosmo within me that I must cultivate and retrain back."
no subject
She quiets as she listens to him before looking away, pondering her next words. "It seemed like you had an incredible power. I didn't know that Beorcs had such powers."
no subject
"What's a beorc? You used that word often."
no subject
Now it was her turn to blink and tilt her head. "You are my lord, you are a Beorc. It is the name of your race."
no subject
It took a moment for him to reach an understanding.
"Name of my race?" He blinks. "Oh, is that your word for humans, correct?"
no subject
A part of her was praying that he understood her, letting out a small sigh as he does.
"Yes, the other term is a vile insult. My mother would have punished me severely if I called you that, my lord Mu." She giggles out to try and keep the tone light.
no subject
He understands. "Do you come to this world with your family?"
no subject
That question.. It hurts. It hurts to think about but she kept up her smile and shakes her head. "No, I came alone here. But I am not alone as I have a roommate."
A slow breath releasing from her.
"What about you? Has your family come here with you?"
no subject
He didn't mean to cause her pain with that question. If he has his powers back, he would feel her pain and emotions. Still, he empathizes with her.
"I'm sorry to hear that. And no. I came alone too. I had one family, but he is my adopted child. Like a disciple. He's my apprentice. I left Kiki behind in my world back on Earth."
no subject
It was an innocent question. One that she knew that he wouldn't have know how it would effect her and she wasn't going to let him see it.
"You left your nestling behind?" She frowns and moves a wing to brush his cheek. Even if Kiki was adopted, he was still Mu's 'son'. "Earth? I never heard of Ear-th."
no subject
"Mn. He's only eight, but he'll be all right. I told him in advance that in the event of my death, he'll know what to do and where to go. He's my apprentice and he's next in line to learn to master my powers."
At the mention of Earth, "It's the name of the world where I came from."
no subject
"Even so... You were his father first. Every son will miss their father when they are missing. Even Moreno should they parish."
A small idle nod was all she could do to his response to her inquiry. "I... I never heard of Earth. But I guess it makes sense in this strange place..." She goes to sigh out. "I am from Tellius."
no subject
Still polite, "More like an elder brother who adopted him and care for him. But it could be that. I know he misses me, but he'll grow up strong once he makes it back to the Sanctuary and find the other knights to continue his training."
Turning to her, "Tellius. Your world. What is it like?"
no subject
But his words, she catches on the hidden meaning of them and despite her burning curiosity, she won't pry. At least not yet. "As a younger sibling myself, I know that might make it worse." She teases a little. "... Would the path of training... Would it be at least of his own choice? If he didn't want to, could he not go down that path?"
At his question, she goes to shrug her shoulders. "I.. Really can't tell you, my lord Mu. I wasn't allowed outside my home until an event. But even then, I wasn't allowed to leave until I arrived here."
no subject
He considers her question, "Of course he has a choice to choose how he wants to live. But he is my only successor. Hopefully, the world achieves peace, so he doesn't have to choose to live the same life that I did."
"So you don't know what your world is like? There are humans, you said, and your people look like you?"
no subject
"I shall pray and hope for the same thing. If only so he can choose his own path in life. But I also understand how important for him to follow your path is."
She goes to let out a sigh and nods her head. "Yes, that is correct. But there are more clans who also have animal parts, not just wings. But I never really met them myself."
