Oh! I remember you!

[ The voice comes from above. Suddenly, a teenager with potentially-familiar white hair drops down before Jin Ling as he walks down the street, landing quietly right in front of him. Like. Directly in front, as though he barely missed landing right on top of the other boy.

Killua points, grinning. ]

Jin Ling!

[ he startles with a yelp and stumbles back, narrowing his eyes and reaching for his sword— and then he falters a little, squinting, because 1) his name, and 2) he woke up today with all the memories of his previous visit flooding back. ]

You're...! [ no wait a second here. ] What do you think you're you doing, dropping out of nowhere like that!

I was following one of those vanishing cats, but then I saw you. So I thought I'd say hi, since you're still here too.

[ Killua sticks his hands in his pocket, smiling. ]

You're looking better.

[ he purses his lips and crosses his arms, defiant. ]

That's no excuse acting as if you're going to ambush someone out of thin air. I could have attacked you.

[killuwatt]

If I was trying to ambush you, I wouldn't've called out to you, dummy.

[ Killua rolls his eyes slightly. Dramatic, isn't he? He recalls last time, Jin Ling crying and hiding under the foliage... at least he's looking better. ]

And I'm not worried about you attacking me. I'd have dodged.

I'm not a "dummy"!

[ oh you've only scratched the surface. he looks perfectly puffed up and offended. no sign of crying in sight. he also scoffs. ]

Sure you would. I'll believe it when I see it.

[ Killua grins, rocking back on his heels, hands still in his pockets. ]

You sound fun. Wanna spar?

[ A beat. He seems to remember something. ]

Oh! But I'm kinda in the middle of something. Have you seen any weird cats around here?

[fairyherder]

[ sparring... would be interesting, not that he'd admit that out loud. but then he just looks puzzled. ]

Weird cats? Like monsters?

[killuwatt]

Hmm... not so much "monsters" as...

[ He shrugs, gesturing vaguely with one hand. ]

They're mostly like normal cats. Except they like to vanish into thin air. Some pet store's lost track of a bunch of them and they promised a reward if I could bring some of them back.

So have you seen any cats around here? Either acting like normal cats or blinking in and out of existence -- or both.

Oh, like that request that got posted? I saw that.

[ he's curious against his wishes, and trying hard not to look interested. ]

I haven't seen any. I've got better things to do than run after cats.

[ Killua smirks, sticking his hands back in his pockets and leeeaning in to peek from a downward angle up at Jin Ling's face. ]

Really? What exactly are you doing right now that's so vitally important you can't have fun?

[ he doesn't move, but looks increasingly just annoyed. ]

I was heading somewhere. Why do I have to tell you anyway?

[ he absolutely doesn't have much to do. he was just looking for Fairy who ran off somewhere, and honestly she does that all the time so it's not even that important. she'll come back when she's hungry. ]

You don't have to tell me anything if you don't want to. Jeez. You sound so paranoid. It's not like anyone's making you.

[ What's this guy's deal? Killua scowls, leaning away from him again with a shrug. ]

Whatever. If you haven't seen any cats, then you're useless to me.

[ He starts to look around for a direction to go in, though he doesn't really have a lead at the moment. ]

Hrm. I know that.

[ oh he's just gonna reflexively scowl back. what is your deal? ]

Hey! I'm not useless. If you absolutely need help looking for cats, I guess can do that.

[ The way he phrases it... What an obvious guy. Killua rolls his eyes. ]

Yes, I absolutely need your help. Whatever would I do without you? Pleeease help me look for the poor lost kittens to prove your usefulness.

[ Killua snorts, shaking his head. He glances over his shoulder, then gestures down a nearby alley. ]

You don't have to say it that way. It's just for fun. And some cash.

Anyway, I'll go look that way. You coming or not?

Hey, don't make fun of me.

[ but he does follow him, at the very least. ]

Of course I'm coming. I already said.

I'm not making fun of you. You're the one who was talking down to me. I'm just returning the favor to be fair.

[ Killua shrugs, sticking his hands in his pockets as he ambles in the direction he mentioned, glancing back at Jin Ling.

Luckily for them both, probably, that's when the tiny sound of what just might be a kitten meow carries down the alley up ahead. ]

[ he just huffs, but does't follow up on that yell and just crosses his arms as they walk.

his eyes widen at the noise though, looking back at Killua. ]
