( CIRQUE MYSTIQUE: 3rd-4th )

[ Vanitas had heard about this thing called a circus before. Of course he's never been to one before, like many things really. There are reasons for him not to go and he considers staying inside. However his curiosity soon gets the better of him and he soon finds himself in the midst of the things.

Once more Vanitas finds himself overwhelmed, as he normally is crowds, by the smell of food and the sounds of people selling wares. Vanitas is more interested in the food than the games, since after watching people play them for a while he figures they're rigged ( or maybe he mocks whoever tries to play them ). So he's walking around and watching the performances with mochi or dumplings in his mouth.

And at night? Vanitas watches the displays. Even he seems a little taken in by it all. Surprisingly. ]


( WONDROUS THINGS )

[ The pay is what draws him to this particular quest. Whisper Cloud reeds need harvested and for some reason the locals don't really seem to be interested. When Vanitas hears why, it is understandable. They tell secrets.

If he goes into an area alone it won't be a problem right? Not to mention Vanitas doesn't consider himself a person that has a bunch of secrets. Most things he's willing to speak on. So it'll be fine.

But it's so not fine. The moment that his fingers touch the fuzz, there are things murmured that he'd not been able to voice himself. Some of his inner thoughts and Vanitas draws back. ]

What a stupid enchantment. Wonder if it will still work if I chop the thing down...

[ And he looks like he's actually considering it! ]


( GATHERING SAMPLES )

[ There's a list of things that someone desires to get cuttings of. Vanitas is someone that more or less can be found roaming around the Wilde. So while he is out finding creatures to put down, he figures that he can do this little errand as well. It isn't as thought he is going out of his way now is it?

There are two things that Vanitas hopes to acquire: the branch from the Orapple tree and the root from the Silphin herb. The Orapple tree is pretty easy to find. Getting the branch? Also not too difficult. Vanitas scales the tree -

And is promptly attacked by a bird whose nest happened to be hidden in there. Vanitas bats at the thing, but ultimately falls out of the tree into a bush. ...Maybe no one will be around to see that? ]


( RUNAWAYS )

[ Here's the thing about the runaway kids. They are angry and sad and feeling so many negative emotions. What's good at sensing these emotions? Well at one time that would have been Vanitas himself. However his Food can. Vanitas thinks to use this to his advantage.

The creature scurries about in the Wilde and Vanitas can be seen following behind it. Void Gear is strapped to his back and visible for the moment. ]

Can't you hurry up? You should have been able to track at least one down by now. [ Snorts ] Worthless thing.


( FLOODS AND KITTENS )

[ Vanitas isn't fostering any kittens. But there are plenty of people that are! Be mindful that the kitten doesn't get too far away from you.

Vanitas' Flood might be scooping them up and running off with them. Where? Well who knows. Maybe it thinks to try to make a meal of them! ]


( A HAIRY SITUATION )

[ Now one of the things that Vanitas hadn't really thought about before had been something along the lines of haircuts. He's been here for a few months shy of a year and not once has he gotten his hair trimmed. In the past he's worn the mask and has never had to worry about it. Now though? It's starting to get in his face - in his eyes. He can't stand it!

Vanitas is in the middle of sparring - training, really - and he keeps having to blow it out of his eyes. He gets fut up and throws his weapon down on the ground, growling. Tugging his hair and just having a rightful fit of it. ]

STOP GETTING IN MY FACE!

[ It probably looks pretty amusing to anyone passing by. ]


( WILD CARD )

[ Nope. Still not looking at Sora. Vanitas doesn't think that he's done anything wrong here. He went out to teach someone a lesson on the consequences of being stupid. Of being stupid by not finding at least a temporary bond and then compounding it by going after what's his. ]

Tch. Not likely all that much. Healed that moron Puca too.

[ Just throwing that out there, Sora. So he's done plenty of helping too! ]

[oathkeeper]

[He huffs!! Vanitas is so stubborn...!! He can't really think he can just go beat people up because of one thing or another even if he can heal them afterwards!!

He ruffles at black hair.]

What would be better is if we find someone he can bond with!

[darkcharge]

[ Grumbles at the ruffle. He can feel Sora's dissatisfaction through the bond. ]

You're not going to convince me that I was in the wrong, Sora. That's not going to happen.

[ Still a little huffy over here. ]

The Bond will sort itself out. He's asked someone.

[oathkeeper]

[Two huffy boys... Sora fidgets and his fingers stop ruffling.]

Why did you go that far, then?

[He tilts his head.]

And he really did ask someone in the end...? Well, that's good then?!

[darkcharge]

[ Vanitas frowns even more, if such a thing is even possible. He shifts so that he can look at Sora fully. ]

I'm not about to let someone go after what's mine and without consequences. No one gets to hurt you or Mira [ And now probably Lio ] and then just walk around like nothing's wrong.

[ That's just how it is, Sora. There's no convincing Vanitas otherwise. Someone messes with what's his and that someone is going to pay for it. And Vanitas isn't going to apologize to anyone. ]

Anyway, yes. He did so he won't make the same mistake twice. We're going to take care of it within the next few days.

[ We... ]

[oathkeeper]

Wait-

[Just back up three steps here. Sora's eyes are wide with confusion.]

What? We?

[It's one thing to hear about Vanitas dishing out consequences in that possessive and protective manner of his but-- to follow up? With that??? Come again?]

[darkcharge]

[ Of course the Puca is confused. Just how many people could go out with the intention to cause someone harm and then just. Sort of work it out? Truthfully, Van's anger kind of fizzled out fast with how quickly Lavi had went down.

Okay that's not true. He had been even angrier, but he managed to work through it. Managed to find a way to settle himself down. ]

You heard me.

[ Does it bear repeating? ]

... You're going to bond with Lavi?

[Is he making the right assumption? Who the heck bonds with someone after having beat them up for not having a bond? ... Nevermind- that does sort of check out.]

Why didn't you say so first? Are you okay with that?

[There might be just the slightest tickle of jealousy but it's so small it's gone before it's even noticed. Vanitas never really tells Sora anything about his other bonds!]

[darkcharge]

[ And Sora never tells Vanitas about his other bonds! ...Or about if that other Bond is gone or not! So he best not bring anything of that nature up. ]

Yeah, I guess I am.

[ Why hadn't he said so first? Well probably because he had been irritated at being scolded. ]

Lavi isn't so bad. I don't know him like I do you or Mira, but. He needs a Bond and I have one available.

[oathkeeper]

[He's working on that-!! And it's no secret Sora is fully bonded to Kairi and Riku too! Gee!!

Sora's ears do a bit of twitching but he does look a little relieved.]

That's really great to hear then! As long as Lavi isn't going to get hurt from going feral then it's great.

[So Vanitas' bonds will be maxed out too?]

I guess this means you two are friends, right?

[ It isn't a secret at all, really. And, if Vanitas is honest? He doesn't particularly care about them. Van's never come across the princess and his interaction with Riku hadn't been horrible but...

Eh. He'd rather not talk about that. ]

The moron just needed to ask. Though I'm not really sure that he's thrilled about this either. I didn't pressure him.

[ His bonds will be maxed out again. The only reason he had been down to two is because Marie had four bonds. Vanitas isn't going to tolerate that. Sora's seen the reaction the Witch has to it...

Van cringes at the word friend though. It doesn't matter if it's true or not. No reason to call him out on it? ]

Do you have to use that word?

[The intricacies of their other bonds can be argued about later...

Sora gives Vanitas a bit of an encouraging nudge. As sore as the entire thing seems to be and how strange it is to hear that Vanitas and Lavi were planning a bond right after an apparent fight between them he supposes it could be worse.]

But that's what he is, is he?

[An innocent reply without Sora really acknowledging that he's calling Vanitas out for it.]

I'm glad you're helping him. Sometimes people don't know when to ask for help when they really need it. So I bet he's relieved about it in his own way too.

[ Sora is free to discuss this discontent that he feels with Vanitas! ...Doesn't mean he is going to back down. He doesn't feel as though he is in the wrong after all. ]

I mean yeah. I guess.

[ Not sure if Lavi sees it that way. Vanitas just might be the most tolerable option. ]

Probably. Either that or he just realizes the importance of bonding. Learned his lesson on going feral.

[Sora thinks Lavi is a pretty nice person. They're both puca as well so Sora has a natural instinct to like him. But that's another matter.

Sora glances off with a small tilt of his head.]

Yeah, that too.

[He huffs softly.]

Just... Don't end up liking his ears more than my ears.

[Yeah............ He just said that.]

[ Had Sora just said that? Had he really just said that? Vanitas blinks. Frowns. Looks at Sora as if to ask if he's really worried about such a thing...

But then he just has to poke the bear a little. Or Puca in this case. ]

I don't know... They are red.

[ Favorite color. ]

[oathkeeper]

What-?

[Vanitas, that's so mean. Sora's ears even seem to droop in a bunch of flustering self-consciousness!]

Well... I! My ears are nice too! So...! Whatever!

[He's glowering at Vanitas.]

[darkcharge]

[ Gosh. He is worried! It's just... So ridiculous. And over someone like Lavi after he and Sora have. Well. Yeah.

So he just bursts into a fit of laughter. ]

[oathkeeper]

[Of course he's worried! Sora was the only puca in Vanitas' bonds before! ... And Vanitas laughing like that doesn't help at all!

Sora quickly huffs and shoves his hands at Vanitas' face and pushes him.]

Hey! Stop laughing!

[Sora is a boring brown rabbit how could he compete with red?!]

[darkcharge]

[ Oh Sora isn't going to get away from Vanitas. The Witch grabs onto Sora and pulls him close. He's still laughing though. ]

Why should I? You're being ridiculous.

[ He bites at Sora's lip. ]

I don't want anyone else but you, idiot.

[oathkeeper]

[Even if Vanitas grabs him and pulls him close Sora is still pouting softly. The bites at his lip makes him chitter.]

It's not ridiculous. You like rabbits.

[He's being perfecting un-ridiculous!]

[darkcharge]

[ His hands slip up to rub at those soft, furry ears. Sora wants to know how much Vanitas likes them right? ]

I like one rabbit.

[oathkeeper]

[And his ears twitch for it. He stops glowering and pouting so much and instead, he watches Vanitas' golden eyes.]

Even if my fur isn't red?

[No, he should really stop fussing so much. Sora shakes his head.]

If you say so, Van.

[darkcharge]

What does our bond tell you, Sora?

[ He doesn't care that Sora's fur isn't red! There happens to be so many things that he could say. So many reasons that he could list as to why his preference is sharing this bed with him. They're just difficult to voice so hopefully the steady stream of affection from his side of the bond can explain it for him. ]

You'd have to annul our bond to get rid of me.

[oathkeeper]

[He can feel it. The steady stream of sureness between them that flickers back and forth so easily. He likes that feeling. It makes his heart feels good. His fur feel like it could tickle. But he does have the smallest wish to hear Vanitas say certain things.]

That's never gonna happen.

[He's pretty sure there's nothing that would ever make Sora want or need to break their bond.]
