[Open] One Foot In Front Of The Other
Who: Mira and YOU
When: All throughout June month
Where: Aefenglom, outside the city
What: Catchall log
Warnings: Nothing to note as of yet, assume Shadowbringers Spoilers just in case.
Out of the City: Tell Me A Story! (Omega Storyline Spoilers Possible)
[It's something Mira has been doing for some time now; between playing guard and bringing supplies over to those affected by the Cwlyd, one of her favorite things is to go see the children living in the area and read to them. It's a small thing and at first, she had her concerns about it just being something to take their mind off the pain of what ails them for only a second. Distractions are good but will it help? She almost declined to go this time because she didn't feel like her heart was in it. But then she remembered something: the stories she had written while in her mostly self-isolation. The various tales of the people she had met along her journey such as the great Crimson Duelist X'rhun Tia, wielder of the notorious Red Magic.
But there is...the bigger stories she has been working on. She had showed Prompto the draft for the first story and while her confidence isn't as great, a story was a story and last time she was annoyed at the fact that there was nothing good for the kids to hear. But she had the drafts for the first two stories of Alpha...
Seeing the children huddle around without worry, Mira gives a gentle smile.]
I have a new story for you all, something I wrote. It's about a chocobo named Alpha and how he helped save a world.
[To anyone around, they would hear her begin to tell the tale. Now if they were familiar with her star, they may know it as the conflict between them and the mechanical being named Omega. But don't spoil it; the kids seem to be engrossed. But will you join in listening? Or perhaps you catch her after storytime where she keeps quiet while fingering the draft pages. There's a tiny smile on her face, as if she's pleased with the work she's done.]
Oops All Berries!
[This is rather simple. Just picking berries and gathering them for the people who need them for Litha. Or at least according to Mira, Another Damn Festival. Perhaps it is the theme of love that makes her feel a bit sour about it but like hells she'll be going to that. Just another time where she'll keep herself in her apartment office until the atmosphere settles but it's not like her to not help someone when it's needed. Plus the money is good so she can't complain.]
It's been some time since I've been outside like this. Feels rather nice.
[But she is a little hungry. Would it be an issue if she had just one berry...? Looking around to see if the coast is clear, she takes the smallest one she could find and quickly pops it into her mouth, curious as to why it is so popular. But when she sees the person next to her, she gives them the flattest stare.]
What? I was curious.
Sew N Sews: Another Damn Fetch Quest
[Again, the need for money and the idea of just getting out of the apartment was more of a plus than the idea of it becoming another damn fetch quest. Abyss help her, she can hear Fray in her head yelling not to do it for the millionth time. But it was honestly something she could do even while at her other job: delivery while doing her round from the potions shop. It makes sure she is constantly moving and not make her tired and bored. Trust us, she doesn't do well bored.
It's during one of these trips to the tailor that once she drops off the fabric, one of the workers decide to try and make an offer. Mira has a decently sized figure so maybe she could...try on some of the clothes meant for the brothel workers for the festival. She's expecting the dark knight to say yes because that's how the Mirrorbound seem to be after all!]
You want me to do that? Sorry, but I'm not really the type. Just delivering your order here, ma'am.
[Do you cheer Mira on for standing her ground or are you someone making the clothing and need a model to check if the work is decent? Either way, she does not look thrilled to try the things on but maybe she can be convinced.]
Wildcard

Closed: Catnip and Zoomies
Why? Well, when the plant in question has the name 'catnip' and there is cats in the house, you get the idea.
Mira doesn't see Breezy anywhere nor anyone else so she believes it to be safe to place the plant in the kitchen for the time being.]
I think the tea book is in my room.
[And she heads upstairs to try and find it. Nothing can go wrong while she's away, right?]
no subject
But miqo'te being affected by such things is a total myth. As if to prove the point -- or just seized by a momentary impulse, more likely -- she picks up the pot and inhales the fragrance deeply, despite having the urge to chew on one of the leaves all of a sudden. Maybe it's just a vampire oral fixation thing...? It's not the first time she's wanted to put inappropriate things in her mouth, after all.]
no subject
But knowing Mira, she doesn't simply grab any plant. No no, she's the type to ask for the most potent one.
After eating a third leaf, Breezy chirps and begins to roll on the table, paws up in the air. This feels nice...and Mira's still nowhere to be found.]
no subject
All right, so that wasn't the wisest move. Why would anyone leave catnip on the table, though? Was Mira saving it as a treat for Breezy? Or is this some sort of cat-joke prank for her? She sets it down and pins her ears back, closing her eyes and zoning out even though there is an adorable gaelikitten rolling around in delirious joy nearby.]
I ANGY BECAUSE IT ATE MY TAG
But there's footsteps coming closer towards the kitchen as the woman appears, nose stuck in a book.]
I really need to organize those books in there. Can't believe I let myself go like that.
[Peeking out from said book, Mira's face goes into concern because the first thing she sees is her pet completely blasted off the plant she was going to make for tea. And then her eyes travel to looking right at Irhya and...uh oh.]
Irhya? Are you...alright?
no subject
[She kind of... squeaks the deciding word out as she straightens her arms and thrusts the plant away from her, setting it back on the table before she spills dirt everywhere.]
Why are you asking if I'm alright?
[Little touchy there...]
no subject
You were kind of...sleeping.
[You just don't nap anywhere, pastel kitty. Besides, she can't help but ponder...]
no subject
[More like closing her eyes to try and focus her mind, but she's not about to tell Mira that.]
I like the smell of minty things, okay? It's not like catnip affects me the same way it does her!
[A nudge of her head towards Breezy as she crosses her arms and huffs.]

Tell Me a Story
He took a second to consider his options, but listening to the story Mira was going to tell won out in the end. It was fine, there were other people working guard shifts too, so surely they could pick up the slack a bit while he listened, right?
He sits down on the ground, his teenaged figure looking out of place amongst all the small children, though certainly looking no less interested and enthusiastic about it than they do.]
no subject
How it begins with a small yellow chocobo named Alpha and how he meets a group of engineers and one person who just likes playing with swords as they investigate something that had crashed nearby. While he couldn't use words to speak to them, Alpha manages to communicate using body language and chirps. The children seem to be happy when she explains how a select couple make the trek and meet the entity named Omega as they look for the strongest on the star. There were gasps and grasping of their neighbors' arms during some battles such as a long winged dragon and even a couple boys were trying to imitate the appendages of the round monster with only one eye. Certainly made some of the girls yell because ew gross.
It was right before Mira begins to tell about the third fight against a lover of games and puzzles that it was decided to take a bit of a breather. Hungry children and all that as she waved them off before they were led out. Seeking out the only other adult-like person in the area, Mira finally speaks up.]
Don't think I've seen you around here. Brand new?
no subject
That look fades away as the storytime seems to come to a close, with the kids beginning to disperse. Aww, it's over already? Just when it was starting to get good...
As Mira addresses Kor, he rises to his feet.]
Me? [He shakes his head.] No, I've been here a couple months now. Still feels like I'm new sometimes, though.
no subject
It's as such with everyone who comes here. Enjoying it so far?
[One cannot assume everyone likes being sucked in through a mirror to another world.]
no subject
As stressful as being away from home is... It's been nice, too. I've made a lot of good friends I wouldn't have otherwise.
[There's a pause from him.]
So... About your story you were telling...
no subject
Seems like we have the same mindset; there's a few I have met that have been a good influence. But you have questions about my tale...?
no subject
Mm-hmm. [He nods to Mira.] It's not just a made up story, is it?
no subject
Well, all stories have some fact in them. This one just has more than the usual.

story :3
But she had to wait until the children weren't listening. So she could ask, to confirm: ]
That big robot-- was that th'same one which fought the Eikon, Shinryu? [ It had those abilities...? ]
no subject
Aye, the same one but from before Zenos captured and fused with him. Pretty frightening, isn't it?
[Scared the piss out of the Alliance members naturally.]
Story
Alpha? That's an unusual name- but then, I expect this was no ordinary chocobo, yes?
no subject
You would be right; he's a rather special kind. Not many can say they had to earn something most already had from the beginning.
no subject
Oh? Is this the tale of him earning his name, then?
no subject
Oh no, this is actually how he managed to help save a star and gain something in the process. Something a little deeper.
no subject
A tale for another time, perhaps. Then I'll guess no further- for 'tis as much about the journey as the destination, no?
no subject
About how we grow and learn during obstacles thrown at us and how we handle them. The destination is just that, a destination. The end of one tale but never always the end. That makes sense, right?
