[Open + Closed Prompts Within] June Catch-All | Garland Moon
Who: Lorenz + Open (Closed Prompts in Comments)
When: Throughout June
Where: Throughout Aefenglom and possible Quest locations
What: Lorenz adjusts to a quiet home + Quests/Plots/Whatever Else
Warnings: Gen right now. TBD as they come up.
A
[He had kept quiet about his troubles, but after the full moons had passed and started to wane in the sky, Lorenz couldn't fight the lingering restlessness that ate at his person unchecked for much longer. Even leash training his young black cat, minding the tea at the shop, and the sundry other projects he had on his plate could only do so much to ameliorate the situation at hand.
Lapis was gone. Pumpkin with her. His home within Aefenglom was, once more, too quiet for his comfort.
Craving a change in his routine, Lorenz dropped into the Purramid Cafe to see what sort of business this new establishment was. Perhaps he would pick up a few surprises for his own cat... or perhaps he might be recognized as the tall, elegant Faun with flowers in his antlers that worked at DiplomaTea. Who could say?]
B
[...For once, Lorenz seemed dreadfully out of his element. His hair and demeanor were as pristinely manicured as ever, but there was a certain spring in his step and furtive look in his eyes that betrayed just how distracted he was. Quietly biting his tongue into silence, Lorenz retraced his steps throughout town-- checking lost item bins in every establishment he went through.
His target: a simple, leather bound folio with page leaves that seemed too well worn to be a mere log of notes or personal journal.
No. It was his private book of hand-written poetry.
With each turn of his private quest remaining unfulfilled, Lorenz quietly grew more agitated and anxious as he passed through town. While ordinarily friends passing by would be met with a casual conversation, he was prone to being both startled and hurried.
He wanted to give the impression that everything was as fine as it always was. It wasn't.]

On the ground? How careless. Hmmm...
[He was stuck, and he didn't know how to proceed.]
...I may actually be missing a book that looks quite like that, [He added quietly.] It wouldn't happen to have handwritten words in there... would it?
no subject
Mira can feel a pit in her stomach grow because with the mention of handwritten words, having a moment that it is very possible that she has been reading something rather private and personal. Basically, it's that feeling of dread.
Instead, she holds the book up to him for inspection.]
Aye, it does. But I do not know your writing so mayhap you can verify if it is.
no subject
[Gingerly, Lorenz accepted the book and flipped it to a random page, nodding in recognition of the familiar neat cursive print within. With a sigh, he closed it-- and cast Mira a chagrinned look.]
It is mine. I.. I thank you for finding it. Mira. It isn't something I ever expected to lose.
no subject
I'm sorry. If I had known it was owned, I would have never have looked inside.
no subject
[He leaned forward, offering a hand. With the book safely tucked away under his arm and one matter taken care of, he needed to attend to another now:
A new friend's feelings.]
It's my fault. I was not paying attention, and I didn't have my name written in it. The days have just been so nice that I wanted to try writing outside for a short while-- clear my head and enjoy the sun.
...I'll stay closer to the house next time, so this carelessness doesn't happen again.
no subject
Why must you stay closer to your house just because of this? Given the care of this tome and how you were worried for its safety, clearly it means that this was all an accident. You need not to stay in one place unless you wish of it.
[Like her own isolation period. Self imposed.]
no subject
[He lived a very public lifestyle overall-- but the matters he kept private were very private. Risking a glimpse from a relative stranger was, frankly, mortifying.]
no subject
[Experience but that was self-imposed. But even then she went to work and had to leave her office for some time just so she wouldn't go mad.]
We all have moments when we make mistakes, it happens. But if you learn from it, then there is no need to worry, right?
no subject
[He ran a hand through his long hair, his brows furrowed in his discomfort.]
...Apologies, Mira. As game to talk as I am, I am actually a private person. Hard to believe, isn't it?
no subject
[What? Should he hear 'Really? I had no idea!'?]
We all show faces for the world to see and have another for quieter moments. Everyone does. Tell me then, who do you believe I am?
no subject
[He would have said 'beautiful' as well, but previous conversations had taught him that she didn't seem to like compliments of such a shallow nature, no matter how true they are.]
But...you are right. Showing a friendly face even when you do not feel as such is a common tactic in my homeland-- it's so easy to forget that such things aren't necessary here.
no subject
I try my best to be.
[That's all she can do but honestly, is it enough? How much more does she have to give until people are satisfied?]
It's nice not having to worry, isn't it? That titles do not matter here and we can do things never thought of. I admit to having a hard time being able to just because I'm used to always going.
no subject
[He admitted, giving her a tired smile.]
And ordinarily that isn't a problem. I feel free to interact on an even level with every witty, lovely stranger I meet-- yourself included. But, unfortunately, some habits are very difficult to change.
no subject
[Just plain used to it more than likely. It's a little sad but humans can be creatures of habit and no less for nobles and Warriors of Light.]
no subject
[For all of Lorenz's growth out of his old habits, some were much harder to break than others. The habitual self-effacing regarding his talents that weren't 'practical' among them.]
So, you see why this is a touch... difficult. It's not that I do not wish for others to know. I am just.. private with it.
no subject
[Wait until he hears about her writing stories about heroes from home. And yet she never includes herself because she doesn't think her story needs to be known like everyone else's.]
It is up to you in the end.
no subject
Mulling over her words for a moment, Lorenz gingerly handed the notebook back to her.]
Your words are wise, Miss Mira-- and you are absolutely correct. We can drive our own fates here.
...knowing that these are my own original words, do you still wish to read?
no subject
[This is important to him it seems. And Mira wants to respect that.]
no subject
[A sigh. He didn't wish to sound pretentious, but most people simply didn't have the head for lyricism in any fashion.]
If you wished to read a while, I certainly would not complain.
no subject
[A small smile as she looks up at him.]
Mayhap you might be able to give some insight to some of these? My interpretation cannot compare to yours since these are your writings.
