A. Berry Picking
[So Iuneril is off to a great start. All the chaos from people unexpectedly bursting out of mirrors and reflective surfaces may have disappeared overnight ... and really, that's for the best. No more middle school rivals showing up in the bathroom, no more so-called allies stealing his cat. Except that it also means that Shiro's disappeared on him for the second time Keith has been here. Of course, it's not anyone's fault in particular, but it still puts Keith in a bit of a stormy mood. Hard not to feel like the universe is out to mess with him in particular.
...which is probably why it ought to be strange that iunerberry picking is actually cheering him up. Keith hadn't exactly signed up for this expecting to have a good time, just that cunes are cunes. As he straightens up to move onto the next cluster of bushes, he wobbles.]
Woah... [Grabbing onto the nearest person, he starts laughing.] Sorry, just lost my balance there for a second. You doing okay?
B. Outpost Progress
[And after that bit of embarrassing overshare, it's time to never show his face around the house again. At least for the next couple of days anyway. Keith is well packed for the excursion to the outpost, with a large bag of camping supplies and two swords strapped to his back. He hasn't been near the settlement in a while, and it has developed a good deal more than he remembers it last.
It's around dusk that he makes his way to one of the camp's fires that have been set up for the evening. Now that the sun is starting to make him a litttle letharigc, it's easier on him to do the night shift. Technically being a vampire, he doesn't need to eat normal food either, but he plops himself down by the fire where a cut of meat is being roasted over a spit. He turns to ask the person next to him a question.]
Anything interesting happen yet?
C. Silent Forest
[And since he's now fully committed himself to staying busy instead of dwelling on all of his problems, Keith has agreed to show up for body guard duty for the witches who are casting purifying magic.
Maybe a particularly touchy witch told him they don't need protection, or maybe he just got distracted by something seeming to move in the shadows between the twisted trunks and branches of the Cwyld infected trees -- one way or another, he's wandered off on his own. Keith squints, drawing his sword to push aside some rotting foliage that's frosted over. Breath visible as he exhales, he turns sharply at the sound of someone approaching.]
Oh. [He doesn't lower the sword yet, but he nods in greeting.] Hey.
[But maybe there's a time and place for proper introductions later because something is definitely out there and whatever it is is getting closer.]

[There's a long stretch of silence, and the feeling in her chest is tight. Warm and familiar yet strange all at once. All of her senses feel compressed, focused in on this moment, on the direct space around them and on the ever present sensation of their bond.
She'd been concerned that she was too emotional for a bond – she always felt things so strongly, but she hadn't expected this. She drops her gaze to her lap, hands fiddling with a blade of grass. Smiling.]
I do trust you. I know it probably has not always felt like the case.
[She huffs then moves to lay on her side on the grass next to him, looking at him.]
The same applies for you too. Initially, I did my best not to pry into the bond but... I think that I prefer it like this.

Turning just his face when she lies on the grass next to him, he gives her a warm smile, like they're the only two people in the world right now, and reaches for her hand. ]
If I didn't trust you, I wouldn't be drinking that potion every day.
[ A beat. ]
And I prefer this, too.

Intertwining fingers, she falls silent, watching the clouds move above them,] Speaking of that potion... what if we did it properly? With the ceremony and everything?
no subject
Guess it would save us some cunes...
[ A beat. ]
Okay. Let's do it.

[She wasn't expecting it, but the confirmation makes her grin, bright enough and wide enough that her cheeks hurt.
After a few beats, she yawns,]
I suppose we should keep picking the berries. But maybe in a few dobashes. I'm comfortable here.

[ Sure, there's work to do, but honestly Keith is feeling plenty accomplished and very pleased with the world right now and holding onto the feeling that everything is going great sounds fantastic. He laughs when he catches Allura yawning, somehow inexplicably endeared.]
Hey, before you doze off. Look up there.
[ He points to a vaguely lion shaped cloud floating high in the sky. ]
Maybe they're watching over us. You, me and Lance.
I finally get to use a sleepy icon
Maybe they're watching over us. There's something fuzzy that stings her nose and eyes at hearing that. Her hand tightens around his and she nods,]
Yes, I think so too.
[She watches it until the cloud disperses, and curls off to one side - facing him as her hair makes a pillow under her head.]
Just a few ticks, then I'll be awake. [Said as her eyes are already sliding shut, content and truly at peace for the first time in a long while.]
no subject
Okay. I'll keep an eye out.
[ Which he has every intention of doing, but it isn't that much longer after Allura's fallen asleep that he starts dozing off as well. In the end, though this world has its own set of problems and dangers, it isn't one embroiled in a war against aliens with planet ending technology. They can fall asleep outside for a few minutes and nothing disastrous is going to happen. It's a luxury that they can both indulge in. ]
