[OPEN] We've got these summertime nights
Who: Connor & open (with some locked prompts maybe)
When: Through June
Where: Aefenglom in general
What: Berry picking (and getting drunk), teaching an automaton feelings
Warnings: None
Berry Picking;
[Connor knows how it feels to get drunk, if only purely from his Bonds. And honestly? He hates it. It throws him off balance both figuratively and literally, and he always ends up just laying down and waiting for it to pass. This is different though, and so he doesn't really notice anything is wrong for a while. The physical symptoms aren't really present, he just feels happy. Really happy. Giddy, even.
He manages to bump into someone with his little basket of berries, and for whatever reason the sight of the berries just rolling away is too much. He snickers, even as he looks up apologetically.]
I'm sorry, I'm not laughing at you... I'm not actually sure what I'm laughing at.
Mr. Emotional;
[You know what's hard? Teaching an automaton about feelings. Connor already tried to "convert" it the way he would an android back home. Failing that, there's nothing left but to talk to it. Which isn't a bad thing, but it's even more limited than an android is.
He's currently sitting and trying to teach it about happiness. It's only now that he realises he can't quite convey how happiness really works, and he doesn't know how to make it happy so it can experience the emotion for itself. Help?]

[There's an awkward pause as she waves at the bushes, wobbling for a moment.]
I don't think he'd notice, he already acts like a drunk.
no subject
[He often just lays down and waits for it to pass.]
Who are you Bonded to?
no subject
Tendou. You might not have seen him, but it's hard not to hear him... He's very loud. And he screeches a lot. [And he got a small, solemn nod like she was imparting some secret wisdom to him.]
no subject
[And he's always up for feeling happy.]
I've never met him. Why does he screech so much?
[That seems like an odd thing to do.]
no subject
I don't know. He just does it, when he sees people he screams and runs over. But he was like that before he started changing.
[It was a monster/monster bond.]
no subject
[He doesn't say it in a way meant to be insulting, though. If anything, he's intrigued.]
I think I'd like to meet him one day.
no subject
He is very strange... But it's nice. You don't know what to expect with strange people, but...but you can tell when they're a friend.
no subject
[He gives her a smile in return, glad to hear her laugh.]
The more friends the better, right? At least, that's what I've always thought.
no subject
...The more friends you have the more people you can lose.
[That had been something she'd lived by when she was younger. Wrapped her arms around Eren and Armin as tightly as she could, not letting them slip away from her reach, lashing out at anything or anyone that got too close. That could loosen her grip on her boys, put them in danger.
Her arms could only hold so many people. It was inevitable that when she let more people join the huddle, it'd be easier for one to slip out. Be lost. ]

[He blinks, then averts his gaze, dropping it to his shoes instead.]
That is true... I've lost many people by now. And it always hurts. But I think isolating myself and living a life alone would only hurt more, in the end.
[He looks back up at her.]
I can understand being afraid, though.
no subject
That probably made it pretty clear didn't it.]
It's eady to lose people here. They just vanish...
no subject
[It's hard to be cheerful when he thinks of the people he loved and lost. But he brightens up anyway, trying to shift the mood.]
If it helps, I was among the first Mirrorbound to arrive here. If I'm still here after all this time, I feel like I'll still be here for a good while longer.
no subject
You've been here more than a year? How much has changed since then?
