[A - Boaltinn - Poles and Food Stalls]

[The small fae's wings idly fluttered, as she curiously watched what people were doing around all the food stalls and strange poles set up around the city. She resists the urge to let her feet leave the ground and flit about between the various sights and sounds (and smells!), but it's becoming obvious how intriged she is by all of it. It's a little embarrassing to participate in anything by herself, but...]

Hey...

[She meekly interjects, when she notices someone familiar, or friendly-looking enough, nearby.]

What's that over there?

[She might be looking towards a particularly enticing food stall and the various couples walking away with shared treats. Or one of the poles left unattended, while others have people dancing with ribbons around them.]

[B - Boaltinn - Rose Baths]

[The baths had made Natsuru nervous at first, mostly because the majority seemed to be segregated in monster or witch groupings, or not segregated at all! A nice, relaxing soak in the fragrant waters would be soooo nice, though...

Ultimately, she'd managed to find a section of the baths for women only. Feeling a bit more comfortable in the relative privacy, she let herself sink into the water with a long, satisfied sigh. It might take her a long moment to even notice another person joining her, but when she does...]

Oh! Hey, there.

[Perking right up, she scoots in closer to the other person. Regardless of whether she knows them or not.]

The baths are amazing, aren't they? I wish they did something like this year-round.

[She doesn't even think twice about this, or realize she's acting quite a bit more open and friendly than usual. At least, for being in a shared bath.]

[C - Goblin Market stalls]

[Surely, a cute little Fae who seems to have absolutely no moon- or bond-related crises to worry about at the moment wouldn't be targeted by all these shady potion sellers, right? Still, perhaps as a cautionary defense, Natsuru's wings and antenna shimmer and fade out of sight, just as she draws closer. It's all she can do to blend in a little better.

Natsuru wants nothing to do with the obviously sketchy stalls, yet her walk keeps taking her just close enough to them for the merchants to call out to her, peddling various potions and trinkets that she absolutely does not want or need in her life. She politely turns down offer after offer, but is clearly starting to look worn down. Maybe she could use some assistance from someone with a firmer tone or more assured presence?]

[ Considering the shitshow this week has been for Azura, she thought maybe going to one of the festivals would be something nice to take her mind off of things. Instead, she's just kinda been wandering around on her own and people-watching, but her ears perk up at the sound of a familiar voice. ]

Hello, Natsuru. [ .... ] It seems to be some sort of set for dancing. Though I can't grasp how one dances with a pole.

Azura-san!

[She smiles as she recognizes the other woman, and shifts in a little closer to chat. It's always nice being near someone familiar and not on her own...]

Yeah. It looks like it, huh?

[She'd noticed a few others doing what might have been some kind of dance along the way. Though, for some reason, when Azura mentions dancing with a pole, her cheeks turn just a little bit pink. No, she'd never seen anyone dance with a pole, but like any teenager in the world she comes from, it brings a certain image to mind!]

W-Well... I guess it has something to do with the ribbons, too?

[Yeah. It's not that kind of dancing with a pole. Certainly.]

The ribbons...

[ Azura scrunches up her face and thinks for a minute, watching people dance around it. Suddenly, her face lights up. ]

Ah! Goodness, it's been so long, but I remember seeing something like this in my home country when I small child. It looks much like one of the old midsummer poles.

Midsummer poles?

[Natsuru repeated, curious interest lighting up in her eyes. She could see the patterns the ribbons were starting to form, as people danced around.]

Did they... weave the ribbons around like this too?

[That's what she figures is happening, at least...]

For the midsummer festival. Usually the children would dance around it, and use the ribbons to act out specific dances, yes. My, I haven't seen one in such a long time.

[Natsuru's wings flutter a bit as she watches. She wonders... does Azura have fond memories of this sort of thing?]

... Wanna try it? Or, um, I dunno... we could find a place to watch...

If you'd like to, certainly. I'm not sure what the standard dance is, here, but we can probably pick up on it.

[ she looks excited about this. dang. ]

[Oh... Natsuru blinks curiously, watching Azura's face brighten up, before she breaks out in a bright smile of her own. Her wings give another little flutter and, feeling an urge that's grown increasingly familiar since her changes started happening, she reaches out to grab Azura's hand.]

Come on, then, I see one over there!

[Fae instincts win over her usual awkwardness today. There's a fun thing happening, and the slightest hint of excitement from a friend is infectious! Though she might blush a little as she gives Azura's hand a gentle little tug, leading the way to the nearest pole that still needs a few more dancers.]

[Towa was anxious about using the public baths herself. It wasn't like she was unfamiliar with them-- her own school used them, but still... it was a lot for someone who wasn't completely comfortable with her self image. They were comfortable though, and she didn't want to pass up on the opportunity completely.

But when she saw Natsuru was there-- a lot of that nervousness evaporated into a cheerful smile.]

Natsuru!

[She tucks a stray hair behind her ear and scoots over a bit too.]

They're really nice, aren't they? I was starting to miss this a little. It's a bit embarrassing, but it feels so good.

[Natsuru is a little surprised to hear someone like Towa say something like this is a bit embarrassing. It kind of makes her feel better about feeling the same way, more or less.]

Kind of a relief that there's women's baths, huh? I don't think I could have done a mixed bath...

[More outgoing or not, she starts to blush at the thought.]

Ahaha... I've heard of mixed baths back home too, but-- I don't think I'm ready for that level just yet.

[She feels embarrassed and self-conscious about her body enough just around other women. To put herself out there among girls AND guys... it's just too much for her. Towa's face gets red too over the thought.]

Actually, now that I think about it... back at the branch campus, the girls and boys baths are back to back. You can actually hear other people on the other side sometimes.

Y-Yeah...

[The way Towa describes the baths where she comes from does remind Natsuru of her own home, too. Mixed baths, yes, but also divided baths with a partition between them.]

I, um... well, I never saw the women's baths back home. I guess that's obvious, huh?

[It's something Towa should probably have known by now, but maybe hadn't considered in this context.]

I was... still really nervous, actually. Like, is it really okay for... girls who like other girls...?

[She trails off there, blushing even harder. She's not holding back one bit of her thoughts and feelings right now, but they're hard things to put into words.]

N-Not that I'm looking at other girls! [She has a girlfriend that she loves a lot and doesn't even want to imagine hurting her!] I'm just... not used to it, I guess.

Oh, I suppose you're right.

[But then Natsuru asks if it's really okay and she smiles and nods.]

Of course it's okay. Neither of us would be here if it wasn't.

[Towa might not have a girlfriend like Natsuru does, but there are certainly a few women she's liked or done certain things with. She giggles and in a lightly teasing tone, adds--]

Besides... I think it would be really difficult to bathe if you weren't looking at all.

[It was the smell that had gotten her interest. The tall fae hadn't really been interested in the baths, partly because of the district they were in and the shared baths, but this one had been on the border and...It was just a fancier version of the barracks' shared showers, right? So she'd squared her shoulders and gone in.

She wasn't sure what she was expecting.

Not for it calm her skin where the chitin was spreading. She'd been trying not to scratch at it, but it still itched. But the feeling disappears the moment she's in the water. So she ducks her head low enough for it to reach the section at her neck, it'd finished growing but the warmth still felt nice. She doesn't speak for a moment just humming and keeping her eyes closed.]

It's nice... I've never been somewhere like this before. There's so much hot water.

[This one... Natsuru immediately recognizes as a fae. But a very different kind of fae. She's quite a bit taller than Natsuru, it's obvious even in the bath. But just as noticeable are the visible bits of chitin on her back, shoulders, and limbs. Natsuru can't help but look closely at the parts she can see.

It's probably easy enough to tell why she's so fascinated by the chitin. She has her wings, her antennae, but the closest thing to an exoskeleton she's developed is the pattern of scales visible when the light hits her skin just right. She's fairly confident she's done changing too, but just knowing this could happen to her makes her curious.]

Does that... hurt? [She stops just short of brushing Mikasa's shoulder with her fingertips.] Or itch, or something? Does the water help?

[Belatedly, she realizes that maybe she skipped a few steps in this conversation. Blushing faintly (though that could be from the heat of the bath), she adds:]

Oh! I'm Natsuru, by the way! And, er, I'm a fae too, obviously.

[There really was no denying it now, was there? Maybe she could have tried pretending to be a strange chimera. The combination of one compound eye, antenna, the exoskeleton might have allowed it. Especially with how tall she was. Because she'd been tall for a human woman, there were plenty of monsters taller, but still tall for a human. Shrinking might have been a blow to her pride after making so many short jokes but... The patchy spots of fairy dust starting to form could only be from one kind of monster. ]

No it...[The slight touch makes her move, shuddering a little as she pulled away. It was a strange feeling. The chitin was strong, but she could still feel through it, like having a thin layer between her skin and the world.] It itched, the water is helping. [Short and clipped. Answers to exactly what the other fae had asked. Then Mikasa was ducking her head a little, looking the other way, please ignore the ears going red as she hides the rest of her face.]

Mikasa...[Time for Awkward Silence! H-haha...

....

...] I wasn't expecting to see another fae here...

[10/10 conversation starter.]

[Oh... Oh no, she hadn't meant to make her uncomfortable! Her own blush deepens as she shifts - not exactly putting distance between herself and Mikasa, but at least pulling her hand away a little more and angling herself a little less directly facing. Though she still maintains eye contact and a friendly, if slightly apologetic, smile.]

Mm, we're pretty rare, aren't we?

[... This might be the first time she's used 'we' to refer to fae. But it doesn't feel wrong, especially when talking to someone in the same kind of situation.]

Though... [She can't stop herself and leans in ever so slightly again.] You're so tall. Were you always like that?

[There's... not exactly envy in her tone, but something mildly like it. Wistful nostalgia? Mikasa is huge next to her, probably even bigger than Natsuru ever was if she had to guess. But with how big everything has looked to her for some time, it's hard to judge for sure.]

N-Not that it matters, or anything! But if you're changing this much already...

[She absolutely has an image in her mind, however fleeting, of Mikasa as a human skyscraper of a woman. Whoops.]

[It's okay, just think of Historia. This girl was about the same height. And she wasn't clinging to her arm, swinging off of it...Something that would be a lot more awkward with their state of dress than Historia's had been when she'd done it. But still--

She just sighs. Head dropping a little, muscles relaxing when the conversations moves on.]

We are...I've only met two others. They arrived at the same time as me. [She tilted her head, inclining it towards the other fae.]

I've always been tall... The guys only started getting bigger than me in the last year. [For so many years Mikasa had been taller or equal in height to the men she knew. But they'd all hit a growth spurt at the same time. Not that all of them were taller, Armin, the captain. But the others had gained a few inches, and if Sokie was to be believed they were still growing.

...Assholes.] I've gotten shorter though. I was taller when I was fifteen.

[Natsuru's past makes it a little awkward to relate to Mikasa's comparison. She hadn't exactly had reason to make that kind of comparison herself back then. But she thinks she can imagine it.]

I was taller than most of the girls back home. When I got here, I had to keep getting new clothes or getting them altered because I kept shrinking more.

[She sighs, remembering the frustration of those first few months.]

I didn't even get my wings until later. It's the first time I've needed help to get things down from the cabinets since I was a little kid...

I can only think of one girl who was taller than me. ['was', Ymir was long dead. Mikasa had met and thought the one that had eaten her.] I was still heavier though... [There had only been two people heaver than her. Reiner and Bertholt, both of them were a lot bigger. But she shakes her head.]

Someone warned me about that. I've been getting clothes I can adjust so it's not been an issue... How long did it take for you to change? [And she turns to stare with those big black eyes. ] The fae that arrived at the same time as me already seem to have finished changing.

[Not that she was complaining. It was just strange. Does she even realise that she's staring without blinking? No. ]

Well... I stopped shrinking after only a few months. And my eyes and skin were changing too...

[Though definitely not as much as Mikasa's, with the other woman's noticeable chitin and the eyes Natsuru's looking back into. Trying not to be unsettled by the staring... until she eventually looks away and blushes a little again. It's hard to maintain eye contact with a stare that intense!]

I dunno, maybe six months? I had my wings and everything by then.

It's been...[Give her a moment to Math!] Four months. From what I've been told some people who've been here a year only just finished changing... [So there was still time. Her gaze breaks away as she slumps, chin dipping into the water.]

How long have you been here then? It sounds like it's been awhile...I've been looking for other fae since I arrived but not found much.

[Of course she joined her girlfriend for an opportunity at bathing with her. If would've been weird if she didn't, really. And with the relative privacy, Monika feels that they both have a chance to unwind and relax.]

Ahah, but if they did it so often, it would stop feeling special, wouldn't it?

But I agree that this feels nice.

Especially since I'm here with you.

[Nevermind the fact that Monika helped herself and scooted up as close as she could to Natsuru.

Mm, yeah.

[It might be harder to tell that she's blushing as Monika scoots in close, with her skin already flushed from the heat of the baths. But it doesn't matter, with their Bond echoing each other's feelings faintly at each other all the time.]

W-Well, it's always nice when we do it together...

[Blushing even harder. Monika might even be able to see the faint glow of her skin even in the light. Help.]

And, um. That makes it even more special now.

[She does notice the faint glow, but she doesn't bring too much attention to it. Much like Natsuru's constant blushing, she's just accepted that this is something that routinely happens! It just adds all the more to the appeal, really.]

I'm glad!

[Taking advantage of the privacy, Monika places a hand over the fae girl's thigh.]

I was wondering that the heat would bother your wings.

[Of course she'd try to have a regular conversation while feeling her up.]

[Oh...

She doesn't react to the touch, exactly. Maybe she feels a slight stirring of a different kind of warmth than the bath provides, and she certainly seems receptive. Monika might catch the briefest little gasp, not to mention the sense she gets of what Natsuru is feeling through their Bond.]

No, it's um... it's pretty relaxing. I wondered the same thing though, at first. If fae can go swimming, or take hot baths, and stuff.

[She sighs contentedly.]

I'm really glad we can still do this...

[The hand stays where it is, with Monika choosing not to take it any further. She's content to just this, and reactions she's being fed through the bond, well...

It tells her everything she needs to know.]

Do you remember what it was like when we first started to live together?

I forget I even had a roommate and walked out into the living room in just my underwear!

[Or less.]

I was so embarrassed, back then.

[Somehow, even though they're literally bathing together and have been just as intimate for some time now, the memory still manages to bring back all the flustered embarrassment of that first time.]

I was trying not to look! You didn't know I used to be a boy, and I thought you'd hate me if you found out.

But you're just... so beautiful...

[Yeah, she had a hard time looking away. She was sure Monika noticed.]

I didn't think you were embarrassed at all... because we're both girls...

[Oh, goodness. Even after being in a relationship with Natsuru, being called "beautiful" like her still makes her heart skip a beat. It's such a good feeling, to hear her girlfriend say that about her.]

Ahaha, we used to say that a lot, didn't we?

"It's alright because we're both girls."

But I think I like it better now.
