Open - Monthly Catchall
Who: Hector, semi-open
When: The month of Maiuril
Where: Around the city
What: A Monthly Catch-All post for Hector.
Warnings: Potential for language, full-moon shenanigans, and descriptions of violence
Egg-Sitting, Early Maiuril
[Working so closely with another Mirrorbound for weeks is not ideal, but when the reward is an exciting new animal, Hector’s willing to endure it. Yes, there’s equal chance of it being an angry snake-creature, but that’s not a deal-breaker. He is going to love whatever comes out of the egg.]
So, if we divide our time equally, it shouldn’t be too much to handle. I can take the first shift.
Wilde Hunt, Maiuril 7th
[Well, Hector’s starting to look for a witch to bond with, but he’s still unbonded for the moment. He can almost feel the buzz of the energy from the full moons in his skull. So Hector joins the hunt, against all instinct.
He isn’t hunting, but his prey-animal paranoia is increasingly aware that he might be hunted. So he is running through the woods, panicked and regretting his decision to come out of here. He doesn’t mean to happen onto another person, but when he does, he comes to a halt. Sheep aren’t meant to be alone. They flock together and find safety in numbers.]
Wild Card, Any time
[Have an idea for another prompt? Let me know!]

Still, it sounds like Dracula truly loved his family, which made losing his wife all the more crushing for him. Hell, Kenichi would probably keep going about our kids unless I pull him away by the ear.
[At Hector's comment about her having no killing intent, she laughs softly and refills her glass. ]
As for killing intent, it's not that I lack one. You just haven't given me a reason to turn it towards you. The Corps that Kenichi and I manage focuses more on the capture of soul eaters for the gods associated with judgment to do their thing, like the Nopperabou that killed me. Though sometimes we are pushed to kill if they are too big a threat.
[She sighs and sits back in her chair. A quick lecture should do it before it possibly kills the mood. ]
As one wise person said, why not both? Hector, I can't condone your skills because as it involves soul manipulation, that's a grave offense in my world. The thing is because of the whole multiple universes thing, you're technically out of our jurisdiction so I can't do anything regarding your actions back home.
Just...if by some weird miracle our abilities return and I hear you using yours beyond reanimating the local fauna to add to your menagerie, you'll have to be ready to accept the consequences. That's really the condensed version of what I have to say on that subject.

Don't worry. You're not the only one who plans to kill me if I stray from the path. The others from my world have been very clear about what my fate would be.
[He doesn't doubt that Saori could summon up the will to end a life if pressed. He just hadn't felt it that first meeting.]
But the likelihood of it happening is so slim as to be nigh impossible. There have been no documented cases of fauns gaining necromatic powers, nor of monster mirrorbound rediscovering their former magical abilities. Those days are behind me.
[And, in spite of everything he'd thought when he first arrived, he finds that in his current life, he doesn't miss them. Life is...better...in Aefenglom. He doesn't have to kill, there isn't the constant fear of hunters and priests, and he's liked by some people. Loved by one. He just can't fathom having any of that in his previous life.]
So if you made this dinner to assess how great a threat I pose, you can be reassured. Fate has a sense of irony. I'm no more dangerous than a sheep now.

By the sound of things, I don't think killing you will be on the table in the future. I had a feeling you weren't all that bad despite the nature of your skills. I mean you actually reanimate animals and treat them with so much care.
[She picks up Cezar and sits him on her lap with another one of her treats for him.]
As for my motives for dinner, yes, that was one of the reasons. I like sharing my cooking with others. Besides, I knew you had a lot of questions to ask me about my home world so I thought I'd give you a chance to do so.

So killing two birds with one stone. And if you decided I was dangerous, a third bird. I can't fault you for being efficient.
[Besides, it's a damn good meal.]
So what now? You answered my questions, I answered yours, you're not going to hunt me. Dessert?

[Hector is right to believe her assessment to be a bit flawed. She's not one of the gods with judgment as part of their domain for this reason. At the mention of dessert, she cracks a smile.]
Ask and you shall receive. Sorry, Cezar, spoiling time is over.
[She places the pug down to go wash her hands and clear the table of their plates. Some clattering of plates later, she returns with a set of small plates with an inverted white cup on top and a spoon. Her fingers carefully lift up the vessel to reveal a custard flan in a pool of thin caramel sauce.]
It's a bit on the simpler side but I admit I had a craving for this.

Hector watches as Saori prepares the dessert. It's not quite like anything he's ever seen before.]
What is it?
[He takes one of the spoons and scoops up a little bit. It wiggles in his spoon. He sniffs it, then tastes.]
...It's like a custard pie with no crust.
[It's good, though, and familiar in a way that so many desserts here just aren't. He takes another bite.]
no subject
[She takes a bite out of hers. Still so good no matter how many times she's made it.]
Was everything to your liking, Hector?
no subject
Yes, it's all been delicious. I should have bought better wine to go along with it.
[He's making light of himself, because he's still uncertain why, exactly, Saori's gone through the effort for him. She's nice, and that's still an oddity to Hector, even having been here in the city for months.]
no subject
Actually, I thought your wine was great with tonight's dinner. I'm so glad you enjoyed it. If you ever want me to cook for you again, please don't hesitate to call me.
[It's easy to think because she's part fox, she's got some crafty and shady motive to be nice, but it's honestly how she is. ]

[Hector's portion size isn't all that much bigger than he would've eaten when he was human, but his willpower is much less, and it's hard not to want more of this again.]
People usually ask for something in return. [That's a model Hector understands.]
