[OPEN] Buzzing energy, shaky circuitry

[The sister moons are affecting Connor strongly tonight. He's restless in his pool- the coins littering the bottom do nothing to preoccupy him. There's nothing he can do but formulate a plan to get someone to come to him, because he's bored and lonely here.

Luckily, he has that magic at his fingertips. And like this, with the moons influencing him so heavily, he doesn't feel as guilty for using it. He starts to sing, his voice carrying unnaturally far, enticing anyone susceptible to come to him. And if he hears someone open the gate to his garden, or hears anyone climb the fence (as some Monsters do), he stops, blind eyes searching in the direction of the sound. He might flash his fins playfully, or suddenly dive under the water to pick up a coin and offer it to the newcomer as a token of friendship.]

Who are you?

[Might as well get to know his new friend. Or... old friend. Depends on who comes to see him. He's bound to the large pool of water though, unable to walk.]

[A brand new android walks to the pool... lured less by the "magic" of the voice and more by the obvious familiarity of it. Even in this dead zone of no network or GPS signal, he's perfectly capable of analyzing it.]

[Blue eyes look down into the pool. Scanning the shape within.]

You're an RK800 unit. ...With heavy modification.

[Modifications that are unknown, which seem unusually biological. But it's not impossible.]

You were supposed to be deactivated.

[What.

Connor withdraws the coin he was offering and squints at the voice. It's his own, a perfect imitation. He would assume magic was at play here, but not many people here know his model. L, maybe? Is this some half-assed revenge for tricking him with Myr's voice?]

Deactivated? Who are you?

[He asks it again, more insistently.]

My name is Connor.

[Obviously?? He looks impassively down at the mer-android.]

I'm an RK900 unit. The latest model created by CyberLife.

RK900?

[No such thing exists. Connor tips his head to the side, frowning. At least... it doesn't exist where he's from...]

I've never heard of an RK900.

[But the cold, emotionless way this "Connor" speaks... it reminds him too much of how he used to be.]

[She's rather familiar with merrow by now - not just because of living with one, but when she hears the singing, it's such a beautiful melody that felt just a little bit haunted under the full moon. The voice would sound familiar, she would think, if she wasn't so enthralled by the pull of it.

It's not until she's crouched by the pool, and a smooth coin is placed in her hand that she blinks, realized that she'd walked all the way here.]

It's... [She shakes her head again, clearing her thoughts.] It's Allura, Connor. [Just in case he doesn't recognize her voice.]

[Connor seems pleased to hear her voice, and his ear fins fan out in delight.]

Allura. I'm glad you came to join me.

[Whether willingly or not.]

I was lonely, so I thought I'd draw in some company. You don't mind, I hope.

Your singing was beautiful,

[She says, still shaking out of her daze. Once she does, she reflexively reaches for the crown on her forehead - just to be sure it's still there. It's quite shiny and Lance has a particularly difficult time resisting touching it when his merrow form is getting the better of him.

But it's still there, and she sighs in relief.]

Was that magic? I felt like I was dreaming.

You should have data on me. Amanda "introduced" us. Perhaps that memory was deleted.

[Fortunately for Allura, Connor is effectively blind above water during the full moons. He can't see the crown.]

Merrow can lure people in with their singing, yes. But only when wet.

[He figures he should clarify, given the fact that Allura lives with a Merrow.]

I hope it wasn't unpleasant.

Amanda did no such thing.

[He quickly scans his memory files to be sure. Nothing seems out of place... nothing is oddly missing, or corrupted.]

I can't find any evidence that my memories have been tampered with.

[Is this from some kind of... alternate future?]

Tell me what happened before you got here.

You succeeded in your mission. You met with Amanda, and she introduced the RK900 line of androids. She told you that you had become obsolete.

[His LED slowly cycles yellow. He repeats his earlier statement:]

...You were supposed to be deactivated.

[Good news for her!

She shakes her head,] Just a little odd.

[To be out of control of her actions, and she's suddenly grateful that it was Connor at the other end. She settles more to sit near the water, getting comfortable.]

You said you were bored? [She glances around the pool,] I guess it's difficult, when you can't leave.

[So... if he had succeeded, his reward was death? Connor lets go of the edge of the pool, floating backwards slightly in shock. He knew he meant nothing to CyberLife, but... this?]

No, I... I didn't.

[He can't tell if he's angry or upset. Both, maybe. His emotions always get so heightened on the full moons, too...]

I deviated. The rebellion was a success.

[It's not something Connor considers a failure. But he sure didn't succeed in what CyberLife wanted him to.]

Bored, lonely...

[Amongst other things, but he has the decency not to hit on Allura right after drawing her to his pool.]

It is difficult. I can't even see above water. It gets even more boring when all you can see is... darkness.

The rebellion was put down.

I have most of your memories as part of my database. I don't recall you ever deviating. But if there is error and inconsistency in your database, I can show you what I have.

What happened to Markus?

[He hesitates before coming closer again, reaching a hand out. Fine, show him... and he'll show RK900 what his memories are in the process.]

[~~Is the missing word horny, Connor?~~]

I'm sorry, I can't imagine what it's like. [Even with her magic powers, she still was largely herself. She didn't have a whole different body to get used to. It reminds her to take some more time with Lance when he's in his merrow form. Leaning forward, she slips one hand into the cool pool water.]

Well, I don't mind staying to talk. Or we could try some games - Lance and I have been thinking some up.

Games?

[He tilts his head to the side, interested. His playful Merrow side wants to play a game, yes.]

What kind of games?

[She takes her hand out of the water, shaking some of the droplets off before tapping her chin.]

Well, there's the one where I throw objects into the water and he fetches them from the bottom. Or there is one that he told me about called Marco Polo. Where you close your eyes and have to find each other in the pool.

[That would require her swimming though, and she's not sure how Connor feels about others in his pool.]

Or sometimes he swims in one direction for a very long time, and then when you turn back around, it's very hard to swim against the current you've made.

[ It's not his first time here, but hearing someone sing in the middle of the night is definitely new to him. The full moon raises up the sky tonight, meaning an occurrence like this one is supposed to be far from uncommon. The melody pulls at his heart strings - he's weak towards music, so sensitive to it he finds himself wanting to investigate the source of it not even a minute after his ears caught it. So off he goes, walking into the garden with no idea where he's going but knowing he's heading to the right direction.

He finds Connor, in his monster form, dipped in a pool. Stunned into silence, he slowly accepts the coin given to him. ]

... I'm Wataru. We met a few times. Talked about, uh... dogs?

[ This is yet another surreal experience to him. ]

I remember you.

[He smiles to hear a familiar name.]

I can't see you right now, I'm afraid. But I know your voice.

[An explanation for why he didn't recognise him on sight.]

[ Hoo boy... The full moons are no joke. Fortunately, having a Bond at all has helped and so he's able to keep himself from outright losing control (thanks to the help of... someone) - like the, ah... first time around.

Anyway, that singing has him frowning softly. While he doesn't feel outright enticed or entranced or anything like it, he is far too curious to ignore it. So he immediately heads that way, only to find himself... stuck... at the gate.

. . . Knock knock. ]

May I come in?

[Connor pauses and chuckles softly at the question, a rare occurrence on its own— but the pull of the moons has him feeling playful.]

Of course, Akira.

[He waits by the edge of his pool, blind eyes looking expectantly towards the general area he knows the gate is.]

[ He makes his way in, walking over to where Connor is. Huh... He's really pretty. After sitting, he lightly runs his hand through the water. Dimly, he's glad this isn't a river - which is such a weird thought to be having...

There's a very brief pause as he studies Connor's face - namely, his eyes. Hmmm... ]

Were you the one singing?

Yes, I wanted company.

[The way his eyes only flick to Akira's face when he speaks probably gives away that he can't see.]

Full moons are often lonely... I could have looked for other Merrow in the ocean, but there's no guarantee I'd find any. So it's often best to stay in my pool, and invite others to come to me.
