[ Felix watches her for a long moment, head tilted to one side, eyes narrowed and appraising. He's figured out enough from their brief encounters to know that she's solid rock, which means he also knows his blade would likely bounce right off her.

Not that he was considering going straight to blades, here.

After a moment, he simply shrugs. ]

Me? Nothing.

[ Easy man to satisfy—she's told him all he needed to know already in one sentence. ]

So long as Lorenz knows—and so long as you're not trying to drown anyone else on my watch—it's not my problem.

[She watches him carefully, tense as she wonders exactly what he'll do about it. She doesn't really want to fight, but wonders how it'd go in a dreamscape to begin with. One where, more or less, she has all the power.

And then he seemingly backs down, but Lapis doesn't relax even momentarily.]

I'm not going to drown anyone. It'd be too annoying to do in this place anyway. [Which doesn't need to be tacked on, but for some reason she does feel a little aggressive.

It might just be the memory leaking back into her and the emotions from it getting to her.]

[ Felix eyes her warily, still wondering—watching the angry tension that still hangs about her like an unseen cloud—if she's going to lash out at him for his words.

But she doesn't, and Felix, satisfied, turns away, snorting quietly. ]

All bark and no bite now, aren't you?

[ Says the man who's half dog-shaped now. But his eyes turn to the stars, his curiosity getting the better of him. ]

...Where did you want to go so badly, that you'd kill to get there? Surely nowhere is worth all that.

[Oh. That really digs.]

I'm trying to be better than I was. And I was trying to go home, for the record. To escape a planet that had me trapped for thousands of years. Trying to escape the people that trapped me for thousands of years.

[Her hands clench into fists despite her better judgement.]

[ Leave it to Felix to pick the worst possible thing to say at any given moment, and say it. Her story isn't unfamiliar, though, and neither is her anger, even if he doesn't like admitting it. ]

Look. [ He sighs. ] It's not like I don't get it. You think I like being stuck here? With people who tried to raze my home to the ground in another life?

I just, [ and he growls here, tugging at the edge of his glove restlessly, ] cannot stand the thought of losing control of myself over it. [ To become obsessed with revenge, and do harm because of it. ] You're not the only one here who wants to be better than they are.

[Again, she watches him carefully, silent for a few moments as he admits that their situations aren't so dissimilar, until her posture slackens, and she looks away, back towards the shoreline in her memory.]

It... might take awhile, but it gets easier. [She says, after a moment.] I was so angry, for thousands of years. And when I finally got an outlet for that anger, it was... It felt good to hurt someone else the way I had been. But it wasn't... It wasn't good. It's hard to not lash out. I'm still learning that. It's hard to be the better person.

[She admits, though the last part is extremely quietly.]

[ His ears flick backwards, flat against his skull, uncomfortable with her words but knowing them to be truth. There's a familiarity in anger—in lashing out, even if just to provoke a response when all his gentler pleas have fallen on deaf ears. ]

Your honesty does you more credit than most.

[ And Felix... sits, slumping down to the glassy surface beneath him with a blustering dog's sigh. He's sitting on the dream-water, so what, fight him about it. ]

You can't be better without knowing first where you fall short. Now that you know... all you can do is strike a path forward.
