[Lorenz sighed. This was going to be difficult.]

...My father is a difficult man to please, you understand. So difficult that it wasn't long into his marriage with my mother that he started being intimate with women who were strangers to us. My mother stayed with him for a while in an effort to maintain the marriage and all of the agreements that came with it, but in the end my father's lack of satisfaction and my mother's frustration led to them breaking their arrangement.

Mother left-- but as a part of the conditions involved, I stayed with Father as I am his only son and his heir. Multiple people being together openly was never something I contemplated possible, and what happened with Mother does not make it easier to think about.

....however, I am fond of Lapis. I do not want to interrupt anything between you two, but if the both of you are open, understanding, and willing then I am willing to see what happens.

No one ever really got married in CPH, except for a handful of the adult side characters?? Who are largely not the focus of the main plot, and often just act as outside sources of conflict for the main characters--

You're right, Peridot. This is Lapis' decision. If the both of you are willing then... we can try. I do not know the steps to this dance any better than either of you, but it would be both a pleasure and an honor to learn them along your side.
