I apologize for those that missed my initial plotting post at the beginning of the month, but I've got a lot of threads planned and won't be able to take on more memory shares at this time. Thank you for your understanding, I'll make sure to hit more people next month!

Edelgard's Mirror, The Beginning:

The mirror, Edelgard's Mirror, is an ornate affair. The kind of thing that one would expect to find associated with someone who's influence has shaped a continent's future, for better or for worse. It has an eagle motif worked around the edges, though with considerably more going on. Wings ringed with golden, thorny vines and topped with roses made seemingly out of ruby, the wood has a more bony appearance, as though it'd been carved out of the remains of some great beast. The mirror at the center calls, and pulls the viewer inside...

Wars didn't truly interest Enkidu. Humans were the conquering kind, willful creatures who were keen on owning things. But it was always interesting to find out what drove them to do such a thing. To hear their stories and theories. To listen to how their society came to be and how it evolved. All because of the way their souls grew.

"So they tried to revive gods while using commoners?" Enkidu is quite sure that it doesn't work that way. Gods did not associate with commoners. Even half gods didn't, hence Gil referring to them as 'mongrels' on many, many ocassions. "I figure their bodies would not be able to take such...a ritual?"

And while speaking they focus on the sight in front of them. How Edelgard and her young friends seem to rush further, facing the dragon head on.

"So this dragon will survive? Did the war continue for those five years?"

"I understand that."

Just like they would never tell the stories that belong to Gil. All they can speak of are the stories they are a part of, the memories they made.

"I admire your will, Edelgard. I am aware of the fact that wars take a lot from humans, yet, at times, I wonder why humans cannot communicate to one another instead."

They pause briefly, still watching at the spectacle of people battling this large dragon.

"Perhaps, when your memory has faded, I can show you one of mine. It seems like a fair exchange."

Enkidu watches silently. A battle is a battle but they're glad to be able to get to know her better in such a way. To understand more of her ideals, of what moves her. She seems to fight a fair fight, a noble sort of cause.

"Hmm...I will try..." A memory. Enkidu thinks about all they remember. Normally they never really wanted to dwell on the past, to think about their death or their adventures with Gil. It didn't matter when you were a weapon.

But eventually the surroundings start to change. The castle disappears, the sounds of battle make place for the sound of birds and rustling leaves. A forest seems to appear around the both of them. The trees are tall and the scent is very familiar to them.

"This is the Cedar Forest…" Enkidu looks at Edelgard for a moment. "It lies close to Uruk. It is a place I am fond of but I know what is going to happen."

The second after Enkidu has spoken two people appear. One is Enkidu themselves, the other is a blond young man with red marks on his upper body.

"That is my friend Gil."

"Yes, he is here as well. Have you met him?"

Enkidu's voice sounds chipper when they ask that. It would be quite great if Gil and Edelgard got to meet and it would be even better if Gil would accept her as their friend.

In the meanwhile they guide her through the forest, tailing the dream version of themselves.

"This is actually the first time we are going to battle at each others side. Yet, the battle itself is somewhat sad to me. I think the best way to describe it in human terms is betrayal, despite the fact that Humbaba's existence isn't sustainable anymore…it still feels like saying goodbye to a creature that meant well."

"I think I know what you have seen."

About Hakuno. About marriage. Something that upset people and made them laugh at the same time. Still, they would like it if Edelgard would meet Gil one day. A friend meeting a friend.

They guide her through the forest, following the tracks left by their other self.

"It poses a threat to the people in the city." And they know that Gil himself at this point isn't the kindest to his people either. Yet he does not want them to starve. "A long time ago we have enjoyed one another's company. The gods told me I could learn from it. To become more human. To the gods it was a complete human being, to humanity it is a beast."

They look over their shoulder.

"Despite my existence, the gods would never be able to keep their realm and that of the humans together."

As they walk more and more flowers appear and there's a sound coming from within the forest that isn't human at all. More an agonizing screech, a sound between anger, suffering and sadness.

"Humbaba is proof of that."
