Some OOC Notes:
This is going to be a closed catch-all for Edelgard's memory share threads. I will be posting individual starters in the comments, so please assume that all CWs that apply for this log apply to each thread.

I apologize for those that missed my initial plotting post at the beginning of the month, but I've got a lot of threads planned and won't be able to take on more memory shares at this time. Thank you for your understanding, I'll make sure to hit more people next month!

Edelgard's Mirror, The Beginning:

The mirror, Edelgard's Mirror, is an ornate affair. The kind of thing that one would expect to find associated with someone who's influence has shaped a continent's future, for better or for worse. It has an eagle motif worked around the edges, though with considerably more going on. Wings ringed with golden, thorny vines and topped with roses made seemingly out of ruby, the wood has a more bony appearance, as though it'd been carved out of the remains of some great beast. The mirror at the center calls, and pulls the viewer inside...

"Well then... Let us leave your dream world to mine, Edelgard."

If... he even knew how to. He'll just have to think of home, right, like Edelgard said.

Soon enough, the dream world around them dissolves like sand, and what appears to materialize in front of Edelgard is a frame of a mirror, not of her's evidently enough, but Soundwave's.

Soundwave had entered her memory earlier, if accidentally, so he gives her the approval to touch the glass.

The surface rippled, showing a view of a space station first, floating in space, and then the view of its interior, a large open space, metallic walls and alien in design, with mechanical beings can be seen walking around and chatting up casually. Outside the mirror made it difficult to show their true size, but it won't be long until they are both sucked into the vision.

Once in there, Edelgard may realize just how ...absurdly large everything in the room is, like it is an abode made for giants than for small humans. The mechanical residents in the park come in varying shapes and sizes but the common ones range between 20-30ft tall.

So far, there's nothing to indicate what memories this is, but it may be a chance to tour around in his commune in the meantime. He still knows the place around in the back of his head, after all.

"I hope their size did not shock you much, Edelgard." Just a hint of humour in his mostly toneless voice. He's still the same height as before, even in his own dream. "Welcome to Sanctuary Station, a station built between the cooperation of Cybertronians and humans. The centerpiece of my dream."

"In so many ways, we are. But despite all the differences you can see between us, I value your kind as beings equal to my own."

It's not a view most Cybertronians share, Soundwave didn't before for years, but one single experience had changed his view.

"Thousands or possibly longer. Even the human world in my time, while undoubtedly far advanced than yours-" No offense, of course. "-their technology is primitive compared to ours."

While they chat, he'll take her around to see all the other rooms Sanctuary Station has to offer. The bar and theater are much livelier. Bunch of Cybertronians drinking or some others performing on stage, singing. There's even a floating mecha shark reciting poetry. It's just basically showcasing how they all are living a normal life and having fun in this space commune- no different than how humans normally live their peaceful life.

"What are your thoughts so far? On mechanical lifeform."

"I am glad to hear that. Not a lot realize that or share the same view. Neither Cybertronians or humans see each other equal, but that may change."

He hopes so, anyway- he pinned a lot of things in faith alone. Cybertronians and humans have a complicated history together, but that is a story for another time, as there seems to be a commotion coming from a nearby room. Curious, Soundwave steps right up to the door and peeks his head in.

Ah, he recognized this memory.

Inside, they'll see memory Soundwave with a couple of other humanoid and non-humanoid Cybertronians around, one green Cybertronian in particularly doesn't seem to be in the same group as the Decepticons, should Edelgard take note of the different badge. He's arguing with someone not present in the room, further away from the station in fact, but their voices can be heard all the same.

Soundwave watches as his memory self blows up and then defeated, even as the two mechabirds try to reassure him. He talked about his dream of a peaceful world, but here it's being trampled over.
peacewithouttyranny: (And it is our duty to correct it.)

Betrayal is always something that gets a rise out of him, especially when it's from someone he trusted. Edelgard planting her hand on his leg is a bit surprising, his head turning to face her, but he appreciates it.

"No. But I was betrayed by someone close before this." Or he thought he was close, if not a friend to Megatron. Apparently not. "Galvatron was the leader of our faction at the time. I trusted him to build a society for us, he had the wisdom, but he deceived me and the Decepticons. His true ambition lies in conquering and seeking endless war, not peace and salvation."

In hindsight, it was something he should've seen it coming, his own naivety was at fault back then. Still. Galvatron pissed him off, but what really got to him was his own Decepticons following him.

"I didn't realize many of own people seek war instead of new lives." Most of them came back though. but it still hurts him knowing a large portion followed the bloodthirsty conqueror instead.

"Thank you, Edelgard. Despite my... anger for his deceptions, I tried to give him a second chance. Unfortunate that he was too stubborn to let go of his obsession with conquest... and was too dangerous to let live."

It's for the safety of every living being in the galaxy that Galvatron had to be put down. He was nothing more than a rabid monster

"But that is in the past. Galvatron is no more, and the chance for peace for my people is still possible. I suppose I should apologies that I do not have any good memories to show you."
peacewithouttyranny: (Hmm?)

Maybe it was somewhat silly of him to apologize. The memory may have not been a good one, but the tour around an alien ship was certainly nice.

"And it is a glimpse of a possible future for your people. Perhaps in the next hundreds or thousands of years from now," He adds. Knowing how incredibly short a human's lifespan is and that Edelgard is presumably from a less advanced era, he could see how it's a wonder. "I suppose I should be grateful that it also grants me the opportunity to revisit my commune. Even if it's all just a reflection inside a mirror."

He appreciates the encouragement. It's too easy to dwell into the negatives, sometimes. Before they leave though, he turns to look at his friends with his memory-self, watching in quiet fondness for it may be the last time he'll 'physically' see them.

Satisfied, he gives her a nod.

"Let us leave."

And with that, their surroundings start dissolving.
