There isn’t too much on this frame, still fresh from a new arrival, simply giving off a faint silvery light. Yet, should someone touch it, they would soon find themselves being tugged inside.]
- [1. A Touching Soul (of I Love You)]
[The moment you enter the mirror, you’ll find yourself in what seems to be a ruined castle with giant plants all around. They all seem to be growling, hungry for fresh meat—for whatever they can get their vines on. Teeth can be seen in the flowers as their petals spreads apart, almost salivating. Their vines writhes against the ground, cracking through the floors as if trying to find more prey to capture.
Captured by these flowers are Lavi and another boy, his white hair stark even among the red masses. Despite the ruckus the plants are making, there’s the distinct sounds of fighting in the background, explosions that causes the walls to tremble and debris to fall. A few crashes around them, enough to cause the ground to tremble and the floor to crack even more.]
They’re making a lot of sounds. [The white-haired boy speaks up as the sounds of fighting continues on around them.
Even Lavi stops struggling, trying to hear.]
Fighting…?
[Unfortunately, before Lavi can try to hear more, he ends up getting swallowed by one of the flowers, causing the redhead to panic with one hand sticking out.]
Lavi!
[The other boy shouts out while Lavi flails his hand around.]
[2. “Comrade”]
[It’s a crumbled room.
There is debris of a table scattered around the floor. In the air, there’s a dice-like prison holding a green-haired girl and another young man whose arm is in a sling. However, the focus isn’t on those two. No, rather the focus is on the white-haired boy cloaked in white while holding a broad sword in his right hand.
Just a few feet ahead, a young girl is cradling a man against her chest. The man is bleeding, a strange ring of stigmata circling around his body while blood dripped from his mouth. The girl’s lips slowly curls upward as Lavi becomes free of his own prison, a strange purplish mark stretching from the middle of his face and just beneath his left eye. However, the change in him can be felt.
Almost empty.]
Allen. Something sad has come to my attention. It looks like Lavi’s heart has just died…Now, if you want to save Lenalee and the human, you’ll have to kill that, Allen.
[Lavi charges forward, a significant amount of strength in his punches and kicks as he forces Allen back. There isn’t a change to Lavi’s demeanor, seeming determined on beating Allen up even as the boy crashes into the floor hard enough to form a small crater. It doesn’t seem to matter to him that Allen isn’t fighting back.
Something is spurring Lavi on. Lenalee’s cries can be heard around them as she screams at Lavi to stop.
He does—only because Allen stabs his broadsword through him, stretching from the side of his chest and through his stomach.]
[B. Changes]
[Waking up has been…interesting.
Mostly because anyone who walks by will find Lavi tugging on a long pair of rabbit ears that has him torn between grimacing and wanting to cry. He was not expecting this.
He figured he wasn’t a witch considering he took that test and all, but a rabbit?
Lavi feels like this is life’s cruel trick.
All those times of being called a rabbit for it now to to come true…]
…Guess there are worst changes.
[A grumble and a pout as he tugs on the ears.]
[C. Wilde Quest #1: Out of the City]
[Considering that Lavi is still fairly new and can’t be left alone, he’s still being watched by an experienced Witch. Still, it gives Lavi a chance to be out of the city for a while and it doesn’t hurt to see why they needed some help. It also offers him more of a chance to learn about the Cwyld that he’s heard a bit before.
So, Lavi can be found providing aid for those who need it. The old panda taught him some basic first aid, after all. Other times, he can even be found sitting in front of a group of people, telling them some kind of story. Or, even sing, though he isn’t quite confident in that as well as his storytelling abilities or first aid. If needed, he would even fight.
Still, when he sees you, he gives a wave.]
Mind helping out, too?

A-2
It really hadn't been intentional, but now he's trapped. What an odd coincidence that this would be Lavi's memory, though that's not entirely evident just yet. Instead Vanitas takes a moment to really look around. Get a feel for the surroundings.
What he finds is actually intriguing. People being held captive? A white-haired boy standing there with a ridiculously large sword. Clearly he had been facing off against the other two. Had one fallen? Is that why the girl is distraught? Don't think he hasn't caught sight of the color of her eyes and the way that she says human as if she isn't one herself. ]
Someone sure has some interesting tales to tell.
no subject
At least this one takes place outside of what's happening instead of the battle he had in his mind during this time. It's odd, really. Having two sets of memories taking place roughly at the same time while he supposedly lost his "heart".
Hearing Vanitas' voice only has his lips curling up into a smile.]
Not as interesting as yours.
[The memory Lavi stills only for a moment with that sword through him before he resumes the attack. The sword hasn't hurt him. Of course it wouldn't. It would never hurt a human.
The girl's laughter fills the air.]
It won't work with that anti-demon sword that doesn't kill him, you know?! Lavi lost his "heart"; it's not like he's been possessed, okay? If you're going to attack, you're going to have to use your left hand's Edge, Allen!
no subject
Nothing is all that interesting about one's final moments.
[ As Vanitas himself had been resigned, yes. That entire affair had been of his own making. This... This is something vastly different. There's something else going on here. Anti-demon sword that doesn't hurt humans. That is interesting. Also aggravating. Seems like the little girl is making it so that this Allen character is forced to actually kill Lavi. So then how did she manage to remove Lavi's heart... ]
This is quite something. Did you know, where I come from, losing one's heart is a very real thing that can happen to anyone? Some even gave it up willingly, of course. Yet even without their heart the body still moved and acted of its own accord, driven only by sheer willpower.
[ Vanitas glances towards the present-day Lavi. A slight smirk forms on his own lips. ]
An interesting thing, losing your heart. Did she take it? Or did you simply give up?
no subject
A lot can be said about a person from their final moments.
[Just saying.
He doesn't say anything at first, eye trailing upward to where Lenalee and Chaoji are. He can see those candles pointed at them slowly melt away, revealing drills that seems ready to drive themselves through the two. Then his eye trails over to Vanitas as he speaks. Losing one's heart can mean many things. For Vanitas, it's a literal thing.
For Lavi--]
In a simple sense, you can say my conscience died. [He taps his own forehead with his thumb, lips still curved up into a smile.] That little girl you see, Road, likes to play mind tricks. She played a rather mean one on me and I ended up 'dying'.
no subject
[ Also just saying.
Yes, for Vanitas the loss of a heart may be a literal thing. However it isn't so different is it? For him losing a heart means losing the essence of what makes someone who they are. That doesn't necessarily mean the loss of memory, not if the person becomes a Nobody. ]
Ah. You don't seem overly disturbed or ashamed by any of this. Or is it that you dealt with it all right and proper?
[ Van's gaze shifts back to the girl. ]
And why is it that she selected you?
no subject
[Is there guilt? A little. But Lavi was more troubled about his own inner demons than what was going on outside honestly. He hated (hates) himself for his indecision. For his decision of slowly growing attached to these people who should have been nothing more than ink on paper. It was a weakness of him and he was called out on it, by Road of all people.
A Bookman has been trained not to grow attached. That was the biggest rule.
He's beginning to break it, wavering between who 'Lavi' is and who 'Bookman Junior' is supposed to be.
Lavi looks over at Road.]
I was the only one who was able to fight. Those two in that dice up there weren't in any condition to do so. Wouldn't have given her the same satisfaction.
[And because Road knows who Lavi is. Supposed to be. A game of the mind that he only managed to win because he stabbed himself first before his other 'self' could. Not that Vanitas needs to know that.]
Can't say it was one of the happier moments of my life.
no subject
[ That response does so tell him quite a bit. It tells Vanitas that maybe this guy is lacking in some areas. Or perhaps he just doesn't see the connections that regular, every day people do. To not be ashamed... Heh. Van's lip twitches.
He listens to the other answer and he isn't satisfied by it in the least. No way does someone who likes mind games going to pick someone because they're in a condition to fight. No, they are going to pick people based on the level of emotional/psychological damage they can do. How does Vanitas know this? Because he, too, is one that likes to play these sort of games.
And Vanitas clearly would have chosen whomever he could hurt the most. ]
Yeah, I don't think that's the case.
[ Though he isn't going to call Lavi out on that yet. Not fully. Though Van will let the other know that he doesn't really believe that answer. The second comment? Well that may very well be true, but why... ]
So how does this all end? How do you end up getting your "heart" back?
[ Sorry, but he will ask. ]
no subject
[Because Lavi isn't. He'll admit that much.
In times of war, people's true colors often shows unless they know how to mask it.
Vanitas is calling him out on it though. This memory doesn't hurt Lavi as much as certain others do. Would it be alright for him to know the truth? The answer: no. He knows why Road chose him, considering the 'game' they were playing. He also should've figured that Road would fight dirty by bringing up his memories to highlight his mistakes now.
He's quiet for a moment, thinking.
How much can he reveal? Unlike Vanitas who doesn't mind talking about what's happened, Lavi is different.]
Ah, that? Well, whatever's going on out here is also taking place in my head. I managed to stay 'lucid' enough to get my "heart" back.
[Sort of. It's hard to explain honestly.]
no subject
I assume nothing.
[ Which is actually kind of true. Though Lavi doesn't mind admitting it, the way that he says it keeps telling Vanitas more and more rather than the words said. Or not said. That being the case, he isn't going to push Lavi for answers. He won't dig into these things. All he is letting Lavi know at this point is that Vanitas understands this type of battle. He knows these dirty tricks.
He's not really a nice guy himself. Nor will he ever pretend to be, really. ]
Here's a question then: Did you want it back?
no subject
The worst part is when they take place in the mind, making it easier to bring out dirty secrets, hidden truths. Lavi is the curious type himself, more serious than one would initially think.
But as long as no one glimpses too much into his Bookman side, it's fine.]
I did.
[That's the truth right there.]
no subject
At least Lavi isn't that type. ]
So tell me. How does one reclaim their "heart" in this case?
no subject
Sometimes in a literal case.
But it's more of a sake of not wanting Road to win whilst also proving to himself that he can be both of what he needs to be.]
Just gotta win a simple game with that girl over there. Not that the odds are ever fair.
no subject
[ He isn't like this because he's super curious or trying to stick his nose in things. Vanitas might have something of a personal interest when it comes to matters of the heart. It doesn't matter if it is from his world or not. Vanitas is interested in that either way. ]
no subject
[Does that help?]
Your meaning of a 'heart' differs from mine, after all. Her rules of her game was simple: find her and I can get out--or in this case, get my "heart" back.
no subject
Instead he focuses on what is said. ]
It isn't really that simple though.
[ Come on. He knows better. ]
no subject
Not that simple.]
Not something I wanna talk about.
[Not unless you take him out on a date first.]
But she's the type of opponent where you don't want her in your head.
no subject
The most dangerous ones usually are people you don't want in your head.
[ Vanitas rolls his shoulders. ]
Who is she anyway.
[ Safer question? ]
no subject
A soft, thoughtful hum.]
Road Kamelot. [It's definitely a safer question.] Despite her looks, she's actually the oldest of her family, known as the Noah Clan. They're the ones that we're fighting against.
no subject
Noah Clan?
[ To think that such a tiny girl would be the oldest. Is her appearance some sort of illusion? Or is it something closer to immortality?
Either way, "clan" implies that there are a lot of them. Just how many... ]
no subject
[A slight frown.]
There's thirteen of them, unless you count their Akuma friends.
no subject
[ Such an important number that spans multiple worlds. Thirteen Darknesses had been needed to create the strongest Keyblade. Thirteen are responsible for the creation of Zodiark and seek to restore their world.
Now there's thirteen here. ]
What do they want.
no subject
[It's...a pretty vague and not vague answer.
Who knows what they really want.]
no subject
[ Not based on the way that the girl is clinging to the other. Vanitas has only recently has come to understand the concept of family. That fierceness... He gets that. Honestly if someone were to think to come after what he perceives as his? Vanitas would probably try to destroy them from the inside out too.
So no. It can't be that simple. There's something else driving it. ]
Do you wonder what it is they really seek to gain?
no subject
[Especially since, like the old man said, the Noah Clan possesses the power to wipe out the Order in the past. They have the power to do so now.
What could they be after?
Lavi doesn't think it's just after the Heart. No, after knowing what he does now about Allen and him being the vessel for the Fourteenth Noah of all people, there's always something more to eat.]
And always. The question is whether I'd be alive long enough to find out what it is.
[After all, he's not meant to be attached to others in this war. If he can find out what their true goal is, great. But being a Bookman is a life of danger and he's technically died once, would've died twice if Krory hadn't sucked the Akuma poison out of him back then.]
no subject
[ Lavi presents himself as someone with a lot of energy. However Vanitas can't help but think that he's someone that always has gears turning in that head of his. He doesn't quite seem the same impulsive sort that Sora is. ]
