[ Vanitas has already spent enough time watching the meteor shower. He's a little dazed and confused trying to walk back to the house and there's a reason for it, but that's neither here nor there.

He is soon distracted by all of the colorful little glowing things now fluttering around. The natives seem amused by it, but Vanitas does not. Red and yellow seem to want to linger close to him as well as blue, but he keeps batting them away before any single bug can actually hand on him. ]

Go away and bother someone else!

( Pile's Plantagorium: A )

[ Earning some funds by growing plants? Well count Vanitas in. It's not that he went out with the mindset that he is going to specialize in flora. In fact, it isn't as though Vanitas really finds any relaxation or enjoyment in this activity. However, he is good at it and he believes plants are easier to deal with than people are.

So, sure. Vanitas spends plenty of time helping out on that rooftop, tending to and growing what seedlings tare there. Vanitas can be seen putting his talent to use, standing above flower beds and soon seeds become greenery and leaves. Then they begin to bloom in an array of colors. ]

( Pile's Plantagorium: B )

[ Buuuut there's more to be had if he ventures outside, right? Vanitas is standing right at the edge of the Wall. His Keyblade, Void Gear, is strapped to his back. The problem is, Van sure doesn't know what is a deadly plant or what isn't. So maybe stop him before he goes out and offer a hand?

Or maybe Vanitas is encountered already exploring beyond the wall. He has a plant isolated, it's true. It doesn't look sick... But those are a lot of sharp looking thorns on it. That's probably not a very good thing to bring back, but it looks like Vanitas doesn't really care. Only... he's kind of circling it. Looking for how he can get a cutting of it. ]

( Out of the City )

[ Once again Vanitas takes the opportunity to not stick around the city. When the chance is offered to venture beyond the Wall to one of the settlements, Vanitas takes it. He makes sure to leave a note stating that he'll be out. Doesn't state why or for how long because who needs to know that? He played it pretty safe last month by staying within the city walls so naturally Vanitas needs to get out and actually do something.

To get rid of some of his restless, excess energy, Vanitas takes to patrolling around the settlement he is brought to. There are plenty of infected monsters in the area and the spar he had last month isn't enough. Thus he can be found engaging in battle, fierce grin on his face and laughing. It's almost like he's enjoying every single moment that he cuts down one of those monsters, hurling around Void Gear like it weighs nothing. There's no magic used, just brute strength.

And when Vanitas tires of this - not that he will ever fully tire - there is something else he can do. Don't get him wrong it's not that he cares about these people. He doesn't, at all. Vanitas isn't doing this for their sake, but for his own. He joins some of the other Witches that have set up healing stations. Vanitas, see, has been working on the healing artes for months. Now he's putting himself to the test to see just how much mastery he has over those skills. Feel free to bother him or tease. ]

( Book shopping )

[ Vanitas enjoys being self-sufficient. He doesn't like to rely on others, though there are at least a few people out there that... Well he'll let them help him out if he really needs it. Over all? Vanitas still is uneasy. Normally that would be his motivation for getting out and learning anything.

That's not the case this time, but he's going to keep that to himself. Instead he's at this bookstore, going through the shelves. However, Vanitas looks more and more irritated as he goes. ]

Augh. This one's useless too.

[ He's getting aggravated enough that he's not bothering to put all of the useless ones back. Nope. There's starting to be a book scattered here and there. ]

Why is this proving to be so difficult!?

[ All he wants is a ding dang recipe book. To meet certain Monster dietary requirements. ]

[He is such a curious little thing. And a part of him really does miss being able to cast his own magic. In general, it's a lot of fun to see how far along his bondmates are in their magic studies. So Vanitas does get a lot of questions.

But right now Sora sort of just stares. When the glass crackles and changes Sora's ears twitch. His nose sniffs and he watches the magic change with a glaze over in his eyes.

It's just the same with Vanitas right now. There's something so shivery about it. That magic makes his fur feel like it needs to be itched properly.]

One more time, Vanitas.

[ Hmm. Sora is... Really into it today isn't he? Curious that those ears are perked forward. There's a strange look to Sora's eye that Vanitas doesn't recognize. ]

That was the last item, Sora. There's nothing left for me to fix.

[ If Sora wants to see magic, then he is going to have to request something else. ]

Are you okay over there?

[Sora's lips press into a pout. The fixed glass sits there like nothing was broken in the first place. And that lingering sweetness is still hanging in the air from it. He glances up at at Vanitas before he reaches for the glass to inspect it.]

I'm okay! More than okay. [He smiles curiously at Vanitas.] Come on, show me some sort of big spell, then. I wanna see.

[Show something off to him, Vanitas!]

You're acting weirder than usual, Sora.

[ And that is starting to become more and more apparent with each moment. Sora picking up the glass? Pouting? Normally these aren't things to be concerned with. However the way he speaks and his actions when put together don't quite feel right. Then there's also the Bond... ]

A big spell, huh? We'll have to go outside for that.

[ Vanitas pushes himself up and out of the chair. A big spell... Means they need to go to the practice dummy in the backyard. ]

How am I acting weirder?

[Sora frowns but as soon as Vanitas gets up from his chair he's following a little too close.]

It's not bad that I wanna see how you're doing, is it?

You're a touchy perkier and more invasive.

[ Following real close there. Van raises a brow but says nothing more. He puts hands on Sora, to direct him where to stand. Sora needs to be a little bit away from Vanitas.

Why? Because he's conjuring a rather sizable fireball in his hands. At first it looks like a regular red-burning fire. But then it takes on the characteristics of something closer to dark fire. Oh it's not flames tinged in Darkness. Rather the flame burns in hues of black, purple, and blue.

Vanitas then launches it at the dummy, setting it aflame. ]

Ha!

It's not like that--

[His train of thought is cut short the moment that Vanitas starts to conjure his fire magic. Sora's words drift off his lips as he stares at the magic swirling in Vanitas' palm. As purple and blue and most definitely packed to the bring with dark power that it is-- Sora is completely mesmerized.

When the dummy is set aflame that is when Sora's fur really tingles. It sets off some sort of chain reaction where Sora can practically feel the crackle and burning of the flame under his own skin. But its a pleasant crackle and more like a pleasurable little tingle that makes Sora's knees feel kind of weak.

Whoa.

Without even a second to exclaim first, Sora finds himself scampering up towards Vanitas and throwing his arms around him and pressing his nose right up against Vanitas' cheek. And he inhales. Like a freaking weirdo.]

[ Van isn't quite paying attention to Sora's reaction. This takes a bit of concentration on his part. And he's watching the thing burn with no small amount of satisfaction. However, he does finally shift his focus back to Sora. ]

Well? Is that "big" enough for -

[ He doesn't even get the sentence fully out of his mouth before he's met with an arm full of bouncy Puca. Sora's like this, yeah, but it still takes Vanitas by surprise. By now it's automatic for him to put hands on Sora in return, so he does it without a thought.

But then the next action... The nose at his cheek. Given his conversation with Lavi before, Vanitas is very aware of Sora's proximity. It makes him suddenly hot and nervous all at the same time. He's about to push the other away, when... ]

...Why are you sniffing me.

[ So much for those warm, fuzzy feelings and butterflies. Vanitas is definitely thinking something is wrong with the brat. ]

[He can't help it. With the way the bond always loops magic back and through his own body it's like this strange feedback loop that he feels even when Vanitas is finished with his spell. There's something so alluring and addicting about it that he can't seem to get enough of how it makes him feel. His nose nuzzles against Vanitas' cheek like a rabbit nosing a treat and he can't stop.]

You just smell really good!

[Did Sora really just mutter that out loud? His cheeks are pink and he hugs Vanitas close while continuing to nuzzle his nose against that cheek. It makes him feel so warm and good.

Was magic always this wonderful...? Sora can't even think straight.]

[ This is... Definitely not typical Sora behavior. Not at all. It is a little unnerving to Vanitas. He tentatively prods their bond to see if he can get any clues as to what is really going on with Sora. Something is amiss, all right, but he needs more information that what he is getting here.

The worst part is, he's actually enjoying the closeness. Oh his ears are burning, partially from embarrassment and then also likely because he is blushing. Vanitas has come to really like the way that Sora clings to him. The nuzzling. The affection. A touch that doesn't cause pain, but only a rush of good and positive feelings. It makes him feel like less of a monster, that he's something that's wanted and desired. Thus Vanitas has begun to crave it even more. ]

Sora. [ But it's hard to focus with Sora rubbing his face on his own. ] Sora.

[ He puts hands on Sora's shoulders, trying to put a little bit of distance between them. Then Vanitas really starts to look at the other, gaze sharp and scanning over Sora's form. ]

Are you ill?

[Sora can definitely feel the poking that Vanitas is doing over their bond. He'll notice that Sora's feeling some sort of strange rush of pleasure and his heart rate is a lot higher than usual. He has no idea why Vanitas' magic seems to waft over him so much harder than the others but he has to think it's because of the strength of their bond. It's stronger than his other ones and more prominent and loud. And he likes it. He wants to keep Vanitas close right now and he's itching all over like he wants to nip him-

-Luckily Vanitas manages to put some distance between them before that happens. But Sora's eyes are a bit glazed over.]

I don't feel that bad. [He blinks dreamily at Vanitas. His fingers tug at the other boy like he wants to hug him again. He wants to nuzzle him some more. He wants to touch.]

When you cast that spell it was like I could feel it inside me too.

[ Pleasure and racing pulse... He's definitely no medic or medical professional, but he knows that the second one is not good. Vanitas is... Trying to ignore the first. He doesn't know what could have brought it on. At least not until Sora mentions Van casting spells. He wants to experiment to test his theory.

Not out in the open though. ]

Okay. Maybe you don't feel bad but something is wrong. So...

[ Without any effort at all, Vanitas quite literally picks Sora up. He hefts the Puca over his shoulder like it's nothing at all. They are going to head inside into the safety and privacy of Vanitas' room. Once there, he intends to figure this thing out.

The way that Sora is looking at him? It's making something twist uncomfortably in his gut. It's not the sort of look that he should have. Not in this instance. ]

We're heading back inside. Don't squirm.

[ At least Sora gets to touch? ]

Hey- Whoa!!

[And up he goes like a sack of potatoes. Sora flails a little but the fact that he's being picked up means he's close again so he's not really fussing all that much. His fingers grab at the fabric of Vanitas' shirt to hold on.]

What are we gonna do?!

I'm going to test something and you are going to sit there so I can observe.

[ At least he isn't being rough and manhandling Sora? Vanitas does carry them inside as if on a mission though. He doesn't stop until they reach his room. Doesn't even release Sora until locking his door behind them and practically tossing the brat onto the bed.

Look... Vanitas isn't exactly the most gentle person okay? And it isn't as though there's anywhere else to sit. So he's also getting on the bed, sitting across from Sora. Staring at him hard. ]

Are you ready? Because you should get comfortable.

[Geeze, Vanitas is suddenly a man on a mission and Sora is starting to worry if he should feel nervous or not. When someone like Vanitas starts to get testy no one can ever tell what's going to happen. Not even Sora.

He yelps again when he's thrown on the bed and he bounces before he sits up and frowns at the other.]

I'm not some sort of test hamster, you know.

[Even if right now his head is still swimming with sweet sweet magic. He stares at Vanitas with still glazed over eyes and his ears twitch quickly like he's listening for more magic, even. But he does listen, sitting there obediently too.]

[ He leans over and pokes Sora in the middle of the forehead. ]

No, you're a test Puca, of course. Now sit still.

[ Oh Vanitas is going to give Sora more magic. He holds his hand out between them. Once more Van calls forth flame. Just a regular little fire that floats there in the palm of his hand.

Then he watches Sora intently, seeing what the other is about to do. ]

Haha, very funny.

[Sora smiles a little at the take, though. With a rub to his forehead, Sora then settles to watch whatever it is that Vanitas is going to do.

More magic... As soon as the flame emerges from Vanitas' fingers Sora looks entranced again. He watches the flames with a spark in his eyes and his ears twitch again and again. He sniffs the air like he wants inhale the fumes. Yellow eyes glaze over again as Sora practically shivers in his spot.]

Feels... really really good. [Sora murmurs, his fingers reaching out to touch Vanitas' knee.]

[ This time Vantias pays very close attention. He can feel the rush that Sora does. That euphoric wave slowly rolling through his very being. Van sees the way that Sora's eyes follow the flame, how his nose twitches at the very scent of magic. Yeah, Vanitas has an idea that it's the magic itself that is causing Sora to act this way.

But why? This hasn't been an issue before? ]

That's what concerns me.

[ Then the flame disappears, another test. He notices Sora's hand drift, but isn't really all that distracted by it. Not when Sora feeling something Vanitas isn't really all that familiar with. ]

[It's just so strange how he wants to stay connected somehow. A touch or a grab away. Vanitas' magic smells so alluring to him that his head is starting to feel dizzy. He has to wonder if the same things would happen with Kairi and Riku too?]

Is something wrong with me?

[He doesn't feel sick. Quite the opposite. He feels like he's on a cloud ready to float away.]

It doesn't feel wrong, though...

Your reaction to my magic is a lot stronger than usual.

[ As if to emphasize his point, Vanitas holds up both hands. Small flames appear in both palms. They quickly take on that same dark coloration as before when he and Sora were outside. A bit stronger magic than just the average flame. ]

Now how do you feel?

[Sora's yellow eyes go wide. He stares at the magic and feels another heavy wash of something across the bond and his nerves.]

It tickles a lot! [He's not really sure how to explain the feeling.] It feels...

[He suddenly leans up and forward, his hands coming to rest on Vanitas' knees as he surges forward like he's going to put his face in Vanitas' face. The witch better be careful where those flames end up.]

Like I wanna get really, really close.

[ Oh Vanitas is careful. The moment that Sora goes to make a move, Van moves his hands off to the sides. There's no way that he's out to burn Sora. That would just be... No. Not anymore anyway. ]

Careful!

[ He has no idea what this feeling is, really. Though it feels dangerous. Exciting and dangerous... At least this is how it is translating over to Vanitas. ]

You almost burned yourself!

[ Okay. Now how close Sora is and all those emotions? They're starting to distract Vanitas a little. Just a little. He's convinced that it has something to do with the magic. Though he should ask more questions. ]

It's okay!

[Sora feels hazy and like he's floating from the magic. So sweet and warm in his blood and body. He just can't get enough of it. Sora continues to lean forward and into Vanitas' personal space.]

I trust you. You wouldn't burn me.

[Then he pushes at Vanitas and down onto the bed in one fell swoop. Sora lands on him with nearly a purr-like sound coming from his throat. The little monster continues to make noises as he suddenly buries his nose into Vanitas' neck.]

[ What is even happening. Vanitas is leaning away from Sora for a moment. The closeness is starting to make his own face hot and pulse race.

...He's starting to think about some of the things Lavi had said. ]

Sora -

[ Before he can finish, Vanitas finds himself on his back. The fire immediately goes out, his concentration lost. He's blinking up at Sora, voice lost at the moment. Sora is an assertive brat when he wants to be, but this is. This is a little much even from him.

That nose is at his neck again and why there? This time Vanitas does shudder a little. The feedback he is getting from the Bond is just sort of making this situation worse isn't it?

Maybe if he... Just doesn't do anything Sora will stop? ]

[He just can't he help it right now. His nerves are all coiled up and his monster senses are telling him that this is good and he needs to be near it. As close as he can manage right now. And that means cuddling Vanitas harder than he ever has before.

He curls up against him and buries his nose against that neck and murmurs. His lips tickle just lightly aginst skin when he shifts. Sora's fingers grab tight at Vanitas' shoulders.

His witch! His bond! Amazing like embers and burning charcoal.]
