[ Vanitas has already spent enough time watching the meteor shower. He's a little dazed and confused trying to walk back to the house and there's a reason for it, but that's neither here nor there.

He is soon distracted by all of the colorful little glowing things now fluttering around. The natives seem amused by it, but Vanitas does not. Red and yellow seem to want to linger close to him as well as blue, but he keeps batting them away before any single bug can actually hand on him. ]

Go away and bother someone else!


( Pile's Plantagorium: A )

[ Earning some funds by growing plants? Well count Vanitas in. It's not that he went out with the mindset that he is going to specialize in flora. In fact, it isn't as though Vanitas really finds any relaxation or enjoyment in this activity. However, he is good at it and he believes plants are easier to deal with than people are.

So, sure. Vanitas spends plenty of time helping out on that rooftop, tending to and growing what seedlings tare there. Vanitas can be seen putting his talent to use, standing above flower beds and soon seeds become greenery and leaves. Then they begin to bloom in an array of colors. ]

[ Buuuut there's more to be had if he ventures outside, right? Vanitas is standing right at the edge of the Wall. His Keyblade, Void Gear, is strapped to his back. The problem is, Van sure doesn't know what is a deadly plant or what isn't. So maybe stop him before he goes out and offer a hand?

Or maybe Vanitas is encountered already exploring beyond the wall. He has a plant isolated, it's true. It doesn't look sick... But those are a lot of sharp looking thorns on it. That's probably not a very good thing to bring back, but it looks like Vanitas doesn't really care. Only... he's kind of circling it. Looking for how he can get a cutting of it. ]

( Out of the City )

[ Once again Vanitas takes the opportunity to not stick around the city. When the chance is offered to venture beyond the Wall to one of the settlements, Vanitas takes it. He makes sure to leave a note stating that he'll be out. Doesn't state why or for how long because who needs to know that? He played it pretty safe last month by staying within the city walls so naturally Vanitas needs to get out and actually do something.

To get rid of some of his restless, excess energy, Vanitas takes to patrolling around the settlement he is brought to. There are plenty of infected monsters in the area and the spar he had last month isn't enough. Thus he can be found engaging in battle, fierce grin on his face and laughing. It's almost like he's enjoying every single moment that he cuts down one of those monsters, hurling around Void Gear like it weighs nothing. There's no magic used, just brute strength.

And when Vanitas tires of this - not that he will ever fully tire - there is something else he can do. Don't get him wrong it's not that he cares about these people. He doesn't, at all. Vanitas isn't doing this for their sake, but for his own. He joins some of the other Witches that have set up healing stations. Vanitas, see, has been working on the healing artes for months. Now he's putting himself to the test to see just how much mastery he has over those skills. Feel free to bother him or tease. ]

( Book shopping )

[ Vanitas enjoys being self-sufficient. He doesn't like to rely on others, though there are at least a few people out there that... Well he'll let them help him out if he really needs it. Over all? Vanitas still is uneasy. Normally that would be his motivation for getting out and learning anything.

That's not the case this time, but he's going to keep that to himself. Instead he's at this bookstore, going through the shelves. However, Vanitas looks more and more irritated as he goes. ]

Augh. This one's useless too.

[ He's getting aggravated enough that he's not bothering to put all of the useless ones back. Nope. There's starting to be a book scattered here and there. ]

Why is this proving to be so difficult!?

[ All he wants is a ding dang recipe book. To meet certain Monster dietary requirements. ]

[ Unfortunately this isn't something that Vanitas will let go. For the moment it can fade into this easier conversation. The other reason? Van just doesn't know how to bring it up. Doesn't even know what question to ask other than "what was that for?" and Vanitas knows it isn't that simple. He can feel that it's not and that, well, Sora doesn't really have a complete handle on it either.

Yet their emotions are so close. So similar. Vanitas supposes that he could ask about that rather than Sora kissing his cheek, but. Maybe in the end it's not the right time or place. Perhaps after Vanitas can come to some sort of understanding. ]

Do they come true?

[It's happened a few times in the past. Sora's emotions flickering over the bond before he can filter it, leaving something soft and affectionate there. But he's felt flickers of that in return from Vanitas too. Similiar emotions that neither of them really know how to say out loud right now.

Sora could, probably. He could spell it out. But maybe a part of him still wonders if theses are puppy-like feelings he should try to let go of.

Even if he doesn't want to.

Sora smiles and tilts his head as he wonders how to answer.] I guess they do. I can't tell you which ones of mine have, though. Secrets!

[His smile turns into a teasing grin.]

[ That grin is met with something like a pout. Or it's an attempt at one anyway. See? Vanitas has been taking lessons. ]

That's not helpful at all, Sora.

[ And, to be honest, at first the lack of control Sora had over his emotions had bothered Vanitas at first. He hadn't know if what he had been feeling is Sora or himself. It had been so annoying and he had no idea what to do with all of these new feelings. Some of them he hadn't had a name for at the time. Some of them he still doesn't.

Now, though, he's kind of at the point where he doesn't want Sora to control them. It's not quite like what he had with Ventus - able to know what Ventus had been feeling without feeling it himself. That strange disconnect doesn't exist between Sora and himself...

Maybe that's why he finds comfort in it. ]

[It's comical to see Vanitas pout and Sora lets out a puff of laughter for it. His fingers squeeze gently and he waggles his feet below him.]

Alright, alright. When I was little I used to wish for my own airship. Like the ones in kid's stories.

[He shrugs a bit. It's so childish.]

I guess that one sort of came true, right? With the gummiships and all. Even if Donald piloted more than me.

[He looks back up at the sky.]

You could wish for something like that, something you've always wanted to try, something you've always wanted to see?

[ Wow. He hadn't known that something like a pout could be effective. At least, Vanitas hadn't thought so when the expression is on his own face. Though maybe Sora is more humoring him than anything else. Which, for tonight, Vanitas will take that.

He muses over Sora's story. The brat has always wanted to see other worlds, huh? To travel? Vanitas wonders how much of that is also a bit of himself and Ventus coming out and influencing him. It's not like Van had wanted to be stuck in the Badlands... ]

In a way I suppose that it did.

[ His hand squeezes Sora's and his shoulders raise in a shrug. Sure, Van could wish for those things. ]

I have everything I want.

[ Or it is in the process of happening. Maybe he can wish for the process to speed up? ]

[oathkeeper]

[It's nice to tell Vanitas little bits like that, though. Even if it's just silly little wishes he made as a little kid. Travelling has always been something he's wanted to do. He's a wanderer at heart. He still is.

As he feels the warm pressure of Vanitas' hand Sora feels his heart warm when he hears that response. This world really has been kind to Vanitas so far. Given him a family, a roof to live under, friends to learn about...

He scoots a little closer so their shoulders can touch.]

Then maybe you can wish for a raincheck. So you can make a new wish later when you're ready for one.

[darkcharge]

I don't really need a raincheck. There's something I think I can wish for.

[ Nothing wrong with traveling. It makes Vantias wonder again what Sora intends to do now, if Sora returns to the realm of Light. What sort of person will he grow up to be? What sort of profession will he take up? Now that Xehanort is gone... What next?

...And maybe his wish might be for just that. For this stupid brat to continue on existing. ]

It should be enough.

[Sora barely knows what he wants to eat for lunch the next day so he hasn't really thought that far, yet. Maybe someday he will be able to get that far. See a future that's meant for him. if he's not faded away

Sora smiles and nods, content with an answer like that. As per the rules, he won't ask Vanitas what he wished for.]

Good, then the stars will carry it with them.

[Little does he know it's all about Sora.]

[ To be fair, Vanitas wouldn't tell Sora anyway. Too embarrassing to say something like that out loud and have it put out there that maybe he values this brat. Vanitas is... Probably starting to become too attached. Someone should point that out to him. Or maybe he'll realize it and well.

He hasn't had a meltdown over conflicting desires in some time. Wouldn't that be a trip if Vanitas has one again soon. ]

You got one too?

[Sora hums as he considers. He takes a second or two to check over the falling stars in the sky like he's picking a certain one to take his wish and watch over it.

His is pretty simple as well but it holds a lot of significance. He could wish for a lot of things, he supposes. He could wish for everyone at home to be safe, for Donald and Goofy to find happiness at home, for Kairi to stop feeling sad about the past, for Riku to see how strong he really is...

Yeah. All of his wishes are about other people.

So he picks one wish that he's been hoping for since he's come here. That Vanitas continues to grow and learn about who he wants to be. That he gets what he wants and finds his heart whole someday soon.

Sora puts a finger to his lips and winks. Secret.]

Yep. All done.

[darkcharge]

[ Sora is sure taking a long time for something like a wish. Maybe Sora is just making multiple wishes. No doubt that they are all selfless wishes too. Vanitas knows for a fact that Sora isn't going to wish for anything himself.

Instead of dwell on that, Van takes the time to look over Sora. Really look at him. The soft yellow of his eyes. The furry ears. All of the changes. Somehow, though, it's still very much Sora that he's looking at. He barely notices the Puca coming out. Sora is Sora.

There's something that he's feeling though. Something soft and warm. It makes his pulse quicken and his chest tighten again. Why does this happen every time he even looks at Sora? His cheeks are heating up and then Sora's finally speaking and Vanitas huffs, looking away from that dumb grin and that wink. ]

About time...

[oathkeeper]

[He doesn't quite catch the way Vanitas observes him, much too enthralled in the storm of stars above him. But once he's finished he notices the soft fluttery feeling between them and his own cheeks warm with a soft pink. Rabbit-ears twitch and swivel like they're trying to hear something they can't pick up.

He still smiles.]

Do you wanna go back now?

[They have a date with some hot chocolate, don't they?]

[darkcharge]

[ Vanitas just assumes all the twitching is because Sora is a jumpy, twitchy individual. Or maybe his Puca senses are just sharper than his own so he can hear something off in the distance. ]

If you want. Wouldn't dare think to take off if you still want to watch.

[ They do and then chances are Vanitas will take a walk anyway because there's... A lot of things going on in his brain right now. ]

[oathkeeper]

[That's definitely all true on all counts.]

Heh. [Does Vanitas know he's being really nice? He wonders.] Come on, let's head back. I'm really craving that hot chocolate now.

[darkcharge]

[ He has no idea that he is being nice and don't ever point it out to him. Vanitas might take it all back. ]

Climb down or should I teleport us?

[ Vanitas is giving Sora the option this time. ]

[oathkeeper]

[Climb down or be flashy? That's a no brainer-]

Teleport. Definitely.

[darkcharge]

[ It is a little less fun for Vanitas when he can't surprise the other teen. Oh well. He isn't as aggressive as he had been the first time he tugged Sora close. Maybe because he's a little uncertain due to Sora's previous behavior? However the brat is going to have to hold on tight once more all the same. It doesn't take much magic to move them from the top of the building to the bottom of it.

Then they can merely walk back to Van's house hand in hand. What a silly thing it must look to the natives that are out of their homes watching the same scene as they had. Vanitas doesn't really notice, of course. Sora tends to chatter excessively enough that he can barely draw his attention away. Though at times he does tune the other out when it's nonsense that doesn't really matter.

In the end, their time together will be short. They will have hot chocolate and talk some more. Then Vanitas will either walk Sora home or just see him off. Doesn't matter which.

Just. What a night. ]
