🌸Tea Time🌸

After all the fussing and effort put into decorating Sylvain's ballroom, Tataru and her "assistants" have transformed the area into one worthy of inviting princesses to high tea. Tables have been set up throughout the ballroom, flowers and other decorations adorning the tables and walls. Little Ladies are invited to sit where they please to be served while live music plays. When it comes to tasty treats and drinks (both alcoholic and not), there's a special menu to choose from, along with your standard high tea fair of scones, tea sandwiches, petit fours and of course, tea. Loyal Seneschals are at the beck and call of their Ladies, whether they're focused on one particular individual or a group.

Socializing is encouraged and if Ladies tire of sitting at the tables to snack and sip away at their tea, they're encouraged to relax and recline in the Tête-à-Tête sofas set up in another area of the room, either with another fellow Lady or a Seneschal who's willing to charm them or show off their listening skills. There is, of course, space free for those who wish to use the ballroom as it was intended to be - for dancing - and with the lively music filling the room why not take the opportunity to? It's all in good fun, after all.

🌸Lights! Camera! Action!🌸

Prompto finally has his camera working again and Tataru's decided it would be a great idea for him to participate as a photographer and get new clients for his photography business! One of the activities of Little Ladies' Day back in Eorzea is Ladies posing in front of backdrops that are set up around the city-states. To emulate this exciting experience, various backdrops have been set up outside in the yard for Little Ladies to have their photographs taken. The main attraction? A chocobo drawn carriage for that special princess aesthetic. Yeah...

There is also a dressing room area for Ladies to get dressed up or borrow a few donated outfits for the event (from local shops), if they were unable to get their own gear to wear, if they so wish to do so. The room itself that contains said outfits has been turned into a makeshift powder room with a mirror and vanity space for touch ups. Every Little Lady ought to look their best, after all.

🌸Adorable Adoption🌸

Hector has volunteered to bring a few well-behaved fuzzy friends along (cats and dogs) for Little Ladies to play with and pet. All the animals will be up for adoption, and would make good Familiars for Witches who might need one in their lives. His makeshift petting zoo is set up in a segregated area of the yard, to make sure no animals go missing. Everyone who is an animal lover is encouraged to play, pet and love on the animals that have been brought along. If you do wish to adopt one, you'll have to be up to Hector's standards however. They deserve to go to good homes, after all!

🌸Notes🌸

What does it mean to be a Loyal Seneschal or Little Lady?: The role of Seneschal is quite fluid; ultimately it hinges on making sure no Lady goes without a smile on their face during their special day. Whether that's through serving them, entertaining them, being a companion or maybe going home with them to help them do a few chores around their house...it's seriously up to you! Get creative! If you're a Little Lady all that means is that you're a woman and it's Your Day to be Appreciated. Own it. (And no, don't even think about trying to be a Seneschal if you're a Lady - Tataru will hunt you down.)
How will my character find out about the event?: If your character didn't see Tataru's post about it on the network for whatever reason, she's also been sticking flyers up around the city for it. Tataru's quite the busybody so if you need to come up with an excuse for your character/their business to get involved feel free to have them either have heard of it from local businesses that are participating in the festivities, the flyers or even Tataru herself if they have CR of some kind.

I want to play around with Little Ladies' Day after the tea event!: Go for it! Tataru's been working hard hustling local businesses and Mirrorbound alike to participate in the Eorzean tradition. Making a compelling case to incorporate it into Eostre's festivities, she's managed to arrange a few collaborations for the Ladies of Aefenglom to enjoy. Feel free to play around with local cafes or shops that may have special menus or deals on made in the spirit of the holiday. Also go wild when it comes to playing up your Little Lady and Loyal Seneschal roles. It's All Women Are Queens Day, after all.

[Wordplay that only gets a blank stare. Because Tendou...She's not Japanese, she had no idea what that was. So the joke falls completely flat as her large pupils track him, watching him squat. That was a very childish squat. Making his lanky self shorter than her.]

[There was zero understanding of what he just said here.]

Now what? [She had no expectations. She'd only come because Tataru had looked sad when she wasn't, but this is too much socializing for her.]

[ did she understand or not? a mystery when so little pleases the funny bone of one fae girl. u could fool him, mikasa. you could fool him with your asian heritage. now comes the good part, at least, a flattened crest beginning to raise and holding up all ten fingers! ]

I've got— Oh, hold on. [ he's got a better idea, reaching into his pocket and . . . behold, a handkerchief! one that he snaps open and it rolls out into a hhhhholy shit. ] Tah-dah! 'Scuze me for just a seeeeec . . .

[ because he's putting the long ass list on the table. ]

We're gonna do anything you want, see? 'Cause it's your day, but— I took the liberty to add onto hoe throwing and planting with a lil' more sugar! Here, here, [ he takes her arm more like an excited child wanting her to see with a tug at her clothes and bobs of his head, ] we can go dress shopping, pet shopping, pet all the animals like a petting zoo? Candy shopping, I can buy us some ice♪ cream♫ and we can chitter-chatter, ah, dancing! I know you like dancing—

[ if she doesn't stop him he'll keep going. ]

[Yes, yes she's looking. Even though he's technically taller, she has to lean with how he's perched to se-Oh boy that sure is a list. She leans back into her seat looking at it. Blinking. Nintendo...If nothing else, you never fail to make her pause and question things. She's not sure what things, but she had questions.]

It's just one day...

[She hadn't checked the time. But they didn't even have a full day.

It gets a frown out of her. Not the normally vaguely pissed frown, her eyebrows were tilting the other way. More upset than angered.

...He's really put a lot of effort into this hasn't he?]

I know, right? That's why, I've decided— [ he holds the list up! and it just dangles all the way down to his shins. ] From now on it's gonna be Ladies Day for you every day. Starting wiiiiith-!

[ drum roll sound with his tongue—! ]

[Tendou...As much as she really didn't like the idea of little ladies day and being doted on how Tataru described it. That...It was sweet how much effort he was putting in. And she really wasn't sure what to do with all that enthusiasm.

It was kind of subduing really. So slowly, she stands from her seat. ]

Where are we going?

[She was just going to follow. No arguing are being stubborn about it.

...Besides. She liked ice cream.]

[ ah, yes?! yes he's scoring a touchdown! a homerun! an ace at getting mikasa to enjoy her day! he couldn't, seriously, be any happier, hopping along by her side and even make the walk there memorable— tendou is like an amoeba when he moves. or slime. ]

[She watches, turning her head to see him jiggle about. He was making it really hard to follow. But the question is a good distraction from the mystery that is him. Head tilting, pointedly not looking at him so she can think.]

I've only had ice cream twice, I only know of one place here. [Once here, once back home. She didn't have a favorite place.]

They had the plain one, a chocolate one, fruit ones, one with sweet cubes. [Fudge, she meant fudge... She just liked ice cream okay.]

[ tendou laughs. plain. that's a perfect describer for vanilla. the laugh comes out like a squawk and continues as a hyena giggle. ]

I. [ he pauses only for the dramatic effect. ] Love chocolate. I could eat an entire bucket of it, breakfast, lunch and dinner! [ even though fruit has been getting his interest a lot lately . . . hm, anyway! ] The plain ones are vanilla! But, you're right. Definitely right.

[ he points at the ground and shakes his fingers. ]

Plain like toilet paper, huh?

[What Mikasa was neglecting to mention. Was that there was only one flavor out of the five that she'd had not mentioned. It wasn't that she hadn't liked it. Just that she'd liked the others more.

He gets a slow blink as she thinks. Because each of them had their merits.]

I like the vanilla one even if it doesn't look fancy like the others... [No lumps of fruit or swirls of other colours. Even if it didn't look as grand-]

It was my first one. [But that meant it also had unpleasant memories, and she can't help looking down at them. Even if she liked the taste. She wouldn't chose it. Not on it's own or in a cone.

But his comment makes her look back, and she's just confused. What does tp have to do with it?]

[ vanilla is— vanilla is not great but if it's great for her, who was he to say anything? oh, how he misunderstood. um— ]

Today, I'm getting you chocolate! It can be your first chocolate with me!

[ that's memorable too, right?! ]

[She liked it even if it made her sad. Because even if it wasn't as much, it was sweet in a place where sweet things were a rare treat.]

What kind? You seem to know more about this, but the stall I saw had more than one chocolate...

[Not that she knew the differences between chocolate cookie dough, chocolate brownie, she'd just gotten the one labeled as chocolate for simplicity. But then something occurs to her-]

I'm thinkiiiiing . . . [ did she want a suggestion? he had plenty, and taps a single finger in the air! ] Chocolate Sundae Supreme!

[ too much chocolate for one person! it's perfect. the question pulls a hm? out of tendou, then brightly, he beams: ]

It's our first ice cream stop together, right? It deserves a special day.

[stopfen]

[That...That means absolutely nothing to her. She just blinks trying to work it out. Supreme and chocolate were pretty easy but the middle bit?] They only serve it on a Sunday?

[And Nintendo. That wasn't what she'd meant, so she repeats the question. With more of those pesky, pesky words.]

[The beaming has no affect, she just walks in the direction he pointed. Hopefully he pointed the right way and not just...being him...]

I think it was birthed on a Sunday. [ honestly, he doesn't know either, and his default launches right to "whatever makes sense". that usually isn't the most rational thing, anyone would find when talking to tendou. he tends to take things out of comedic proportions.

the chimera gently holds onto her sleeve and points, in a swing with his free arm, in the other direction. correct, that was him just being him but this time it's for real. ] Hm—?

[ more than once— oh, hah. ]

I do keep imagining our second and third ice creams . . . As in, there'll be more. Am I going too fast for thinking that?

[ he's never been on a date, nevermind that he had little interest in it. but he tries his best. ]

[stopfen]

Oh, okay then. [Understandable. Not even going to question that.

But then he's tugging her arm. Showing her where to go. For a second, there's some resistance as she stood still, not following him. But right ice cream. And the actual point of this day. There's a small grumble noise as she nodded, keeping her head low to hide the small flush. Then he got a small shrug.

Because she had no clue about this either.]

It's not going to happen often. That'd cost to much.

[ tendou blows the most dramatic raspberry humanly possibly, lips wibbling about and swinging his head back as they walked. once she's following, the chimera does allow her to walk her own way, no holding needed. it doesn't last too long when he's pointing out the shop and tugging at her arm again. this way, this way! ]

But we don't gotta pay rent, do we? All our extra cash can go to a meal.

[ ice cream is definitely a meal. ]

[stopfen]

It's still expensive. And you have to buy other food and things... [She was saving. She'd been talked out of going into the Wilde for now. The lack of equipment, the weakness to the Cywd, until she'd found a way around that she was stuck.

But then he's going pointing at the shop and there's so much ice cream and sweets. The stall she'd scene before had a lot of flavors, but this place just had rows and rows behind the glass. Along with it's own tables and seats. And that's only what she could see from the window.]

There's so much.

[She was going bug eyed with enlarged pupils, and they hadn't even gone in yet.]

[guesser]

[ shhhhshshshsh says tendou, holding a clawed little finger close to mikasa's lips. quiet. silence. no more walls in the way of happiness. ]

Only ice cream now. [ with his opposite hand on her shoulder, tendou leads her in and gestures. ] Any three scoops you want, hm?

[ nevermind his entire paycheck is going to this. worth it. tootally worth it. ]

[stopfen]

[Pausing! Frowning! Nearly going cross-eyed as focuses on the finger-ing! Not that it lasts for long, even as she peers up at him when he nudges her a long. He gets a sigh. A more drawn out, groany one than the normal tired sighs, more exasperated. Well done, you have gotten +1 new reaction. But then she lifts her head and-]

Vanilla, chocolate and fudge.

[the answer comes quick once she actually decides to give him one. She's going to be wincing when she hears that price.]

You heard the dangerous lady. Chocolate, chocolate, and chocolate for me, please.

[ tendou wiggles three fingers at the merchant at the counter, and there they go to scoop each one. vanilla comes first, causing the chimera to point and . . . begin changing his voice. narration time. ]

Two chocos against one normy, poor Vanilla is toast this round! [ oooo he whispers, low to imitate a crowd. when their employee goes for chocolate, scooping to settle it right on top of the vanilla ball— ] It's a tag team! Oh! Oh, wowy, Vanilla's down for the count! Body slam! A double stacker!

[ with a hand close to his mouth, he aaaaaaaaahs, to sound very much like a crowd roaring. man he fucking. cracks himself up into little pieces. ]

[stopfen]

Dangerous...[Her head dips a little. She was pursing her lips, even as the treat was prepared. She's still frowning, ignoring his rambling at first but ???

Slowly turning to look at him. Mikasa wasn't even looking at the ice cream she was guiltily looking forward to. You...Sometimes you concern her. But, she has to know.]

Why don't you like that one?

Which one, [ the merchant is toying with them. huh. ] vanilla?

[stopfen]

Yes...Unless there's another one you don't like. [Not a question.

BUT then ice cream person HOW COULD YOuu? They're getting a breathy hiss, not a loud one. Only just audible over the noise of the shop. And the hands are starting to rise.

...Tendou. You might want to do something before hands are thrown. ]

[ ohhh dear this is supposed to be fun mikasa! tendou barks up a laugh as he slowly gestures to cut it out with his hand to his neck. stop, ice cream man. she gets it.

the ice cream is given, no questions asked. ]

What a joker, right, Mikasa? Juuust messing with you. Ahh, lessee . . . [ why doesn't he like vanilla. ] It feels— kinda basic!
