🌸Tea Time🌸

After all the fussing and effort put into decorating Sylvain's ballroom, Tataru and her "assistants" have transformed the area into one worthy of inviting princesses to high tea. Tables have been set up throughout the ballroom, flowers and other decorations adorning the tables and walls. Little Ladies are invited to sit where they please to be served while live music plays. When it comes to tasty treats and drinks (both alcoholic and not), there's a special menu to choose from, along with your standard high tea fair of scones, tea sandwiches, petit fours and of course, tea. Loyal Seneschals are at the beck and call of their Ladies, whether they're focused on one particular individual or a group.

Socializing is encouraged and if Ladies tire of sitting at the tables to snack and sip away at their tea, they're encouraged to relax and recline in the Tête-à-Tête sofas set up in another area of the room, either with another fellow Lady or a Seneschal who's willing to charm them or show off their listening skills. There is, of course, space free for those who wish to use the ballroom as it was intended to be - for dancing - and with the lively music filling the room why not take the opportunity to? It's all in good fun, after all.

🌸Lights! Camera! Action!🌸

Prompto finally has his camera working again and Tataru's decided it would be a great idea for him to participate as a photographer and get new clients for his photography business! One of the activities of Little Ladies' Day back in Eorzea is Ladies posing in front of backdrops that are set up around the city-states. To emulate this exciting experience, various backdrops have been set up outside in the yard for Little Ladies to have their photographs taken. The main attraction? A chocobo drawn carriage for that special princess aesthetic. Yeah...

There is also a dressing room area for Ladies to get dressed up or borrow a few donated outfits for the event (from local shops), if they were unable to get their own gear to wear, if they so wish to do so. The room itself that contains said outfits has been turned into a makeshift powder room with a mirror and vanity space for touch ups. Every Little Lady ought to look their best, after all.

🌸Adorable Adoption🌸

Hector has volunteered to bring a few well-behaved fuzzy friends along (cats and dogs) for Little Ladies to play with and pet. All the animals will be up for adoption, and would make good Familiars for Witches who might need one in their lives. His makeshift petting zoo is set up in a segregated area of the yard, to make sure no animals go missing. Everyone who is an animal lover is encouraged to play, pet and love on the animals that have been brought along. If you do wish to adopt one, you'll have to be up to Hector's standards however. They deserve to go to good homes, after all!

What does it mean to be a Loyal Seneschal or Little Lady?: The role of Seneschal is quite fluid; ultimately it hinges on making sure no Lady goes without a smile on their face during their special day. Whether that's through serving them, entertaining them, being a companion or maybe going home with them to help them do a few chores around their house...it's seriously up to you! Get creative! If you're a Little Lady all that means is that you're a woman and it's Your Day to be Appreciated. Own it. (And no, don't even think about trying to be a Seneschal if you're a Lady - Tataru will hunt you down.)
How will my character find out about the event?: If your character didn't see Tataru's post about it on the network for whatever reason, she's also been sticking flyers up around the city for it. Tataru's quite the busybody so if you need to come up with an excuse for your character/their business to get involved feel free to have them either have heard of it from local businesses that are participating in the festivities, the flyers or even Tataru herself if they have CR of some kind.

I want to play around with Little Ladies' Day after the tea event!: Go for it! Tataru's been working hard hustling local businesses and Mirrorbound alike to participate in the Eorzean tradition. Making a compelling case to incorporate it into Eostre's festivities, she's managed to arrange a few collaborations for the Ladies of Aefenglom to enjoy. Feel free to play around with local cafes or shops that may have special menus or deals on made in the spirit of the holiday. Also go wild when it comes to playing up your Little Lady and Loyal Seneschal roles. It's All Women Are Queens Day, after all.

I think Tataru would. After the amount of effort she put in...

[This was the awkward table. Even if Mikasa had only been sat a little while, and really didn't want to be waited on. At least she felt less out of place with Sokie. Even if Sokie was dressed nicer, it didn't feel as glaringly obvious that Mikasa wasn't used to dressing up. ]

You've been to a thing like this before?

Ah, she might end up trouncing me and good for my lack of decorum. Or for getting a minor drunk.

[She offered Mikasa an amused look. If she tapped the poor girl on the shoulder, she'd just tip over, wouldn't she? She's really uncomfortable in a place like this.]

But yes, I have. High tea was a tradition among the middle and upper classes, and a way to relax and spread good gossip. I've been in the serving role, as well as the served.

Need some tips lovely?

[Mikasa looks around at the minor comment. Leslie wasn't here was she? But she couldn't see the girl, so Mikasa turns. Still not liking being in the spotlight so much.]

That's a career jump isn't it? You're upper class?

[She blinks in doubt. ]

Oh, not at all. I was born from dirt, but it helps when you have patrons.

Or that you know how to act and dress the part. That keeps them from kicking you out, even if they suspect you're not supposed to be there.

[She doesn't see a little girl either, else Leslie would end up spoiled and doted on. Hundred percent.]

You need to have the clothes to dress the part first. [She takes a sip of her tea. Well, it was more of a gulp than an elegant, ladylike sip. ]

How would you even get into somewhere like that?

Swallow, don't gulp. You're going to burn yourself.

[And that was always nasty, mouth burns. Her sip was more dainty, and gently set her cup down.]

Generally I just walked in and acted like I was meant to be there. It helped having a patron, or acting as a translator.

I am swallowing? [She tilts her head slightly at that. She was drinking the twa, just inelegantly. It was like she was spilling it.]

Really. They didn't just turn you away at the door?

As in drink slowly. This is an activity that being slow and taking things in is part of the how scene and how it works.

The first couple of times it was a little sketchy. I was nearly thrown out but I've a few tricks as I usually do.

It also helped that I knew how to mimic people. Most common people are raised not to offend two sorts: the church, and the nobles.

But they're both just powerful entities that rely on the person's mind. In short, I played on their fears that I was someone too powerful to offend.

[Enjoy your groany-growly noise as she sets the cup back down.]

This is so...weird... [Whatever this scene was. It wasn't Mikasa's. She was simple girl and this was too much. But Sokie's explanation. That makes sense. Even if Sokie used a lot of words for it-]

Oh, I see. You're good at being an asshole.

[It's adorable. Oh Mikasa you cute. And really...having it summed up was...

Sokie laughed.]

Simply put, but accurate. I thought you knew that by now.

Yeah. But the wall church and nobles are a different type. [There's varying levels of being an asshole. There's the ones like the captain, who were...alright after a while. Then there was the ones that had been willing to leave people to die for money. ]

You know how to act like the worst.

Mmhmm. Not how I would put it, but yes.

Sometimes acting like the worst has saved my sorry self.

And sometimes, it made it easier to help out others, if only to know where to put the leverage.

What is the wall church, by the way? I'm not familiar with it.

Are you talking about blackmail or? [Mikasa wasn't sure. She'd done somethings to keep alive. Kill. The plans and lure their targets out. What they'd done to save Armin... In her eyes it had been what they'd needed to do to survive. But had it been the right thing? Probably not given one of them involved a 17 year old being eaten alive.]

A cult that worshiped some walls. [An obvious answer. But there really wasn't much explaining to them.]

Blackmail is dicey, and best as a last resort, if at all.

[She's quite serious. The things she's teaching this girl...]

Usually it's finding something in common, and offering a suggestion in such a way that they think it's their idea. It depended on situation to situation. People are fickle after all-and what motivates them can be different.

...also, that's obvious, but tells me nothing, mischief.

[It doesn't sink in. Word games and tricks weren't something she was interested in. She preferred instant action.

All that, finding something, carefully wording it? Too delicate for her.]

Yeah...That's it. But they're dead now. [Or defected, or hanging out in some back alley. Either way, they had little if any power. ]

[Mikasa wants to punch. She gets it.]

[She's joking Mikasa. Really.]

[She knew what she was good at. And unfortunately, that was smashing heads. ]

No. Most of them got trod on. Then their leader got killed by the MPs to keep him quiet.

It was an attempt at a joke, more or less. I was hoping for a joke back but...

Then again, you never had the chance to joke around right?

I'm not very good at that stuff... [She looks away, having another bit of her tea.]

Is it because you surprise everyone ...or because you have a macabre sense of humor...?

I'm not sure. There was a time when they laughing, but then I heard them asking if I'd really said that...

[She didn't do it very often though.]

It was when my ribs were broken. They asked if I should be walking, and I told them it only hurts when I laugh really hard...

[She sighed. Oh no, she was too somber for her own good.]

They likely didn't believe you since...you're not the type to laugh at much of anything, are you?

You seem like the type to take things a little too seriously, because your life up until now has been far too serious.

Isn't that how a joke works? You say something ridiculous...[She'd tried. But Mikasa shifts in her seat, turning to look at Sokie a bit more. Because her life seemed even more serious now than it ever had before.]

You make it sound like it's going to change.

[And while she waits for an explanation. She reaches out to grab at one of the cookies. The 'fancy' two colour square ones. Really, how did they do that?]
