[ Q1 | Quail of the Sea ]
[War has a way of keeping you away from the simpler things in life. The important, day to day things that keep a society running. Which is why, when a quest comes up for "strapping young folks" to go out on a fishing boat, to help out the locals, Sylvain actually jumps at the chance.[ Q2 | L'Amourtentia | Possible NSFW ]
It's been years since he's done anything similar, since before going to Garreg Mach, when it was still important for Faerghus nobles to roll up their sleeves from time to time and help out with commoners' work during times of the year when there simply weren't enough people to do everything that needed to be done.
That said? He's pretty rusty, and things are just different enough in Aefenglom to trip him up a bit besides. At least he's not tangling up the nets, but he does look as though he might need a hand, from time to time. The other side of that coin, though, is that he does remember enough that if anyone else is struggling more than he is, he's competent enough to lend a hand.]
[Contrary to popular belief, there are many reasons why a serial flirt and philanderer might be interested in assisting with the manufacture of an aphrodisiac, aside from just the obvious.[ Q5 | Research Request ]
(Well. In addition to the obvious, at any rate.)
In fact, this particular one was drawn more by the potion-making practice than by the effects of said potion, so to say he's taking the work seriously is actually a bit of an understatement. Afterwards, though, when the shopkeep slips samples to interested helpers? Sylvain examines the potion in the light, then appears to catch sight of someone - you! - through the vial and puts on a more characteristic, charming expression.]
So, up for trying this out?
[ooc: Feel free to hop in at any point in the prompt for a more sfw route, or take him up on his offer to hop right into nsfw options! He's bi as hell, so men and women are both fair game for the propositioning.]
[To anyone who knows Sylvain, the amount of research he's been doing since he arrived might have seemed odd at first, but is likely a normal sight at this point. It's still unsettling, to be without full use of his magic, but he's been steadily improving, little by little, every day. So when a request for research comes up, he's quick to take it. And why not? He's going through several books every day on his own, the least he can do is keep an eye out for the information the requester wanted.[ New Moons | 24th-26th ]
That said? He hasn't had much luck on that front so far, which is why - no matter where he is at the moment, at the library, a bookshop, even Diplomatea, there will be four stacks of books by him. One he hasn't looked through yet, one without anything of value to him, one with potential for the quest, and the last for books he wants to read more deeply. It's a meticulous system... would be a shame if anything were to happen to it.]
[To say there was a lot of excitement going on over the course of the month was... a bit of an understatement. By all rights, Sylvain should be exhausted, but as the moons grow darker and darker in the sky each night, he grows more and more restless. His emotions hit higher highs and lower lows than he usually allows them to, and he seems to have endless energy for any number of pursuits. His home ends up utterly spotless. Several books get read cover to cover. He even goes out on the town, hitting up local bars and entertainment venues with some regularity. Sleep doesn't come easily, but neither does exhaustion.[ Wildcard / 3 Places, 3 Happenings ]
It feels almost... normal, except for the odd happenings around him. Occasionally, a plume of flame will spark in his hand, persisting until he puts it out, or similar small flames will rise from the ground under his steps, flickering out moments later. His ambient body heat is running very high, to the point where skin-warmth can be felt through several layers and a several foot distance. Bugs may die if they come within a certain radius of him, and plants will wilt and wither from a similar distance, like his energy is sapping the life of small things around him.
Because, honestly, it is.
None of these magical side effects are constant, at least - coming and going without warning, but nor are they especially unobtrusive, either, and there's only so much apologizing can do when one burns a hand print onto a table or kills a prized houseplant from just walking by.]

At best, he could try to coax Sylvain to try his magic in an open space that was free of obstacles. At worst...
Shirts might be lost.]
...Besides the Entertainment District, which you've no doubt found already?
[Lorenz asked, guiding Sylvain along the street. Even a month out from his transformations, his footing was steadier. The cane was a help on the rough stones that were slick from the rain, especially with his tired legs, but it was clear that he was quickly returning to form.]
All of my finds may be a bit too quiet for you at the moment, Sylvain. But, while we're here...
Do you wish to see the Docks again, now that things have calmed?
no subject
Well, he might just 'remember' how to use Bolganone sooner than expected. For better or worse.
So... shirts being lost might be the better option.]
I have, but I haven't explored it as thoroughly as you're probably assuming, so if you have particular places you enjoy, don't worry about whether or not I may have already found them.
[It's... honestly true. He just hasn't been here long enough to investigate every establishment - even in the Entertainment District, reputation aside.
But it is good to see that Lorenz is more steady on his feet, now. He'd certainly adapted quickly, not that that's much of a surprise. He never did seem the type to be overly reliant on anyone, and not being able to walk was a very, very good way to become overly reliant.
Though he is right - usually quiet and calm people aren't an issue, but at the moment he'd be concerned about being overwhelming, so... best to not.]
That... sounds nice, actually. I've been around for the fishing trips, but I haven't stopped to enjoy them yet.

It seems like something you would enjoy. If I'm recalling right, County Gautier is along the northern coast, isn't it?
[He knew the answer, but the simple nothings would hopefully be enough to occupy Sylvain while they redirected their route to the southern part of the city. While he had taken his own precautions for fire-based magic-- having predicted this possibility earlier in the month-- he still would prefer being near the water in case there was trouble.]

['County Gautier' instead of 'The Gautier Territories' does spark a bit of amusement in him - something Lorenz can likely feel across their Bond, considering their linked hands. It's such a... southern way of putting things. Very Alliance. Very Lorenz. He's not sure why such a turn of phrase has him so endeared to the other man at the moment, but... blame the moons, and his shifting moods as a result.
And he also knows it's a good precaution to take, just in case his magic goes more haywire than it has yet. He'd read stories about witches all but self-immolating on a new moon from the magic running high, and knows that having three bonds siphoning off the excess makes that unlikely, but...
Well, he'd rather Lorenz had the option of shoving him off the dock in a panic, in case something happened.]
Heh, if anything, it's not near cold enough, here, to resemble home, but... that's alright, I think.
[After all, if it was too similar, those extreme, shifting moods were liable to bring on melancholy.]
no subject
[Not that it would matter much. The way Sylvain emanated heat made him think of heavily furred hounds who worked in the snow, of heating stoves, and of warm soups made from preserved vegetables from the harvest season to stave off the chill.]
...What is it that you've been working on so feverishly lately? You're scarcely sleeping; it's somewhat worrisome.
no subject
[Though, perhaps because of his Northern upbringing, he did tend to run warmer, even without the magical side effects. If that can come to symbolize something like comfort for Lorenz in time... well, all the better, considering their newfound connections.]
...The house is spotless. Other than that... nothing out of the ordinary. I've been studying, and spending time on the town when I'm not. I hope I haven't been keeping you up... but truthfully, the new moons have made it near impossible to sleep these past few days, so I thought it better to be productive than to laze about in bed with nothing to show for it.

[While his stay in Fhirdiad had not been long, it had left enough of an impression on him that he at times found himself recalling the city fondly. Gloucester, being a more temperate territory suitable for cattle and crops, lacked the immence architecture found in the city.]
You've not been much of a bother, but it is worrisome to be on the outside watching you buzz about restlessly with no outlet. Had you called, we could have found something to settle you.
no subject
[Though it is impressive, and at times felt more like home than most other places. So while he never attended the Academy himself, he has many fond memories of the city.]
I will keep that in mind for the future, Lorenz, thank you... I am aware this is the witch equivalent of a monster's full moon, though, so I also wanted you three to have the chance to rest, if necessary.
[He knew Lorenz would still be working, most likely, and Felix would be training, and that Bernadetta would be the only one to actually give in to her body's insistence to rest if it came, but... the thought is there, and he's well acquainted with the lethargy the full moon brings on for him.]

[While he couldn't speak for the others, he knew that feeling the distinct presence of Sylvain all but vibrating with unspent energy on the edge of his awareness was a distraction in many ways. He was as new to being Bonded as Sylvain was, but Lorenz found that the affair had only heightened his drive to fix problems and help.
It wasn't a good affair for anyone.
Lethargy he could deal with; sharing part of his awareness with another was quite a bit trickier.]
We Bonded to support each other, did we not? That works for everyone involved. It isn't a solo performance... it is a dance.
no subject
[He'd have to wonder if Lorenz's heightened need to be helpful was a result of Bonding with someone who... also had a need to be helpful, if their meddling natures were feeding and compounding on each other.
Something to look into, if it came up in any of his study materials, anyway.]
We did... So, Lorenz, have you already learned to dance on those hooves?
[Look, it was edging a little too close to sentimental... he has to tease him a bit.]
no subject
You're no trouble. I do this of my own will.
[And for his peace of mind.
To the question, Lorenz glanced down at Sylvain with sheepish surprise.]
...I had not practiced dancing yet. It's on my to-do list, but walking without falling ranked somewhat higher.
no subject
[He'll have to take Lorenz at his word, then. He doesn't believe he's been no trouble - though does believe that Lorenz is checking in on him of his own will. It's an odd position to be in, and an unpleasant one to think about, so he lets it go, this time.
Besides, that look of sheepish surprise his question got out of him makes it worth it, honestly.]
Can't imagine why you'd prioritize walking, Lorenz.
[He's teasing, and punctuates that with a light elbow to his side.]
Heh, maybe we ought to try that, on one of these moon phases sometime.
[It would certainly get the energy out, though walking - and chatting - like this was providing some focus.]
no subject
[The teasing, however mellow, was a heartening sign. Lorenz squeezed Sylvain's hand in his, quietly marvelling at the intensity of the heat before guiding his Bonded around a corner.]
We are close to one of the spots I like to visit, [he explained.] It isn't much, but the view is lovely.
