Who: Bernadetta and YOU
When: First couple of weeks in the month

What: Bernadetta is having to adjust to some new changes. It's a lot to take in! For someone who is getting smaller every day...
Warnings: Hopefully just her usual anxieties. But I'll throw up a warning for potential mentions of child abuse (she had a rough childhood) just in case. Other than that it's just body transformation things!

A. Home is where the heart is (Closed to the people she lives with at the Lions or Eagles houses)

[Those who live with Bernie may not see her that often. Which, honestly, is pretty normal! She loves to spend time in her room and keep to herself. With that said there's always food for either household and she makes sure it's well suited to individual needs. Of course she makes sure that she doesn't make a mess either. After all she doesn't want to be a rude housemate!

With that said, her housemates might notice something rather...odd. Or maybe even a few things.

For one, she's definitely been getting smaller. She'd started out at around 5'5" but now those around might notice that she's got to have shrunk...several inches. Why, she's shorter than Edelgard now!

But there's more than that. Thin, almost hairlike things are starting to stick up from her hair. She's a little self conscious about how weird they might look so she's been dodging people. That and the fact that the window in the back of her clothes is definitely showing off very noticeable nubs that indicate her incoming wings. And are her ears...pointier?

Well she can't dodge people forever. Eventually one of them will find her! Especially if she thinks she's alone and has a space to do some sewing or reading in another part of the house.]

B. Sometimes she has to get outside

[It's rare for her to go outside right now with her odd looking changes but she knows she can't hide forever. Besides, she really wants to do some painting or sewing outside! Which means that she tries to find a private but pretty location to do just that. It helps that there's a lot of gardening things going on right now which happens to be one of her favorite things in the universe.

A nice vase of flowers arranged on the ground before her as she hums to herself while she either paints it or embroiders the design of it onto fabric. She seems lost in her own little world so she's not likely to notice she has company right away.

Don't let that stop you though. She might be jumpy but friendship is good for her!]

[Her eyes widen at the compliment and then she blushes. Allura is really so nice. Sometimes she doesn't know what to do with it!]

You can have it. If you want. When it's done.

[It would probably be a nice accessory if she likes it that much! At least she hopes Allura would think of it that way. Maybe she shouldn't assume things...]

[She's just very passionate about things. Bernadette is just too sweet to be angry or mean towards.

Speaking of- Allura blinks, looking surprised.]

Are you certain? But you're working so hard on it, shouldn't you keep it for yourself?

It's okay. I can make others. And you seem like you like it

[She shifts it a little to show her the pattern better.]

Unless you want different flowers? I could do that instead.

[quintessent]

I love it the way that it is.

[Said reassuringly, although she pauses, suddenly thinking,]

Although... if there is a flower that I could describe, do you think you could try and recreate it? [Then again, maybe her description would be as bad as her art.] Or perhaps I can ask Connor to draw it for me first...

I could do that. But if you think it would be easier for Connor to draw it first then I could make it.

[It must be a very special flower to her from her world. In that case she plans to do her best work yet on it!]

[She nods.]

Or perhaps I could get Lance or Keith to draw it... they've seen what Juniberries look like, after all.

[Hmm, hmm. She's definitely deeply thinking about this now.]

I would do it myself but I'm afraid I have no artistic talent.

Do you think you could describe it? Maybe I could try drawing it. I brought my sketch pad.

[quintessent]

[She hums, thinking for a bit. She knew what the Juniberry looked like, for certain, but as with most things, when it comes to pulling up a specific description just from memory proved to be more difficult.]

It’s pink, with three pedals. Oh but they’re long pedals, that taper at the end.

[Yes, that sounds right. She makes a cup with her hand and sticks one finger out, illustrating.]

And the middle is yellow, and sticks out a long way.

[Grabbing her pad, she starts to sketch what she's being told. It's obviously not completely accurate yet. But she knows she can modify it as she goes. Hopefully.]

Um, this is what I have so far. What should I change?

[quintessent]

[Allura leans in to look at it.]

It's... close. [Hm. She points to the center of each petal.] There should be a lighter pink stripe here, and the end of the flower tapers more.

But it's very close!

[Nodding, she goes to draw another flower next to her first one with the added changes, crossing out the first so she knows it isn't right.]

Is this better?

Hmm

[She taps her chin and there’s a few more suggestions, Allura pointing out certain points. Fixing, modifying, until-]

It’s perfect! [And her face lights up, reaching for the sketchbook, like she just needs to hold this memory closer.] Oh, I didn’t realize how much I missed them until now.

[It's exciting to get to draw something new. Enough so that Bernie doesn't remember to be nervous about it, actually smiling as she keeps fixing until it's perfect. When Allura reaches for it, she hands the book to her.

Seeing her so happy over just a picture makes Bernie want to do this nice thing for her all the more. She just has to find the right fabrics...]

I can draw it again so you can take a copy home? If you like?

I would love that.

[Said, handing the book back to Bernie.]

You are very kind, to take time away from your embroidery for me.
