A Mareuer Catch all
Who: Caren and co
When: Throughout March
Where: In Aef and Dor
What: Many quests, some rests, and
Warnings:
QUESTS
A) L'Amourtentia (NSFW possible!)
A sample...huh.
[She stared at the bottle in her hand. Here she thought that brewing would be enough, but Kiss from a Rose was promoting this...she knew that it was a thing, but still. Still, she had no idea what to do with this. Maybe it'd be funny if she spiked someone drink with it? Or would it be a not good prank? She had no idea.
Hearing someone come close, her head came up and her ears twitched.]
Mm?
B) Research Request
[Every so often she did a slow tour, just to see how things were going. Which meant...going to various libraries and shops in the city, and going up to the help desk, and talking quietly to whoever was there. She couldn't just butt in, thinking that they were doing something for her.
But she did look around. Eye contact? Could certainly happen!]
C) Sweet Chimera
[She had been hoping things would go well here. But...she wasn't sure. She was basically inviting a bunch of unknowns into what had been a personal project of hers. Still...she had to let go of some things sometime.
So while she was cloaked-covering up some of her more obvious injuries on her back-her gaze was alert, and she went over with a slight wave to catch their attention.]
Good day. Everything is going well so far?
[Nothing exploded? Please don't make anything explode.]
D) Desmodus Mori
[Thank goodness for the vampire bar. She had no idea if she was doing this right, if she should have gone to the Coven with it but...she knew vampires, and she wanted to make sure this was doing this right.
She slid in during the evenings, and at the bar she ordered a small drink, sipping it. Waiting to see what may arise, with or without her meddling.]
E) Continuing Conquests
[She needed to take it easier then she would have liked-mostly because she wasn't used to the hard labor. But she could and would be a good guard for those that were building their outposts.
Hearing footsteps, her ears twitched, and she glanced to the side, where she heard it.]
Hello?
[Are you coming to try and give her a reason to use her sword??? because her hand is on it!]
Aefenglom
B: Clothing Alteration
[She didn't work as many hours as she used to in Knit Wit, but she still went in on a semi regular basis, mending and altering, not seemingly having any trouble with the needle and thread. When she heard the bell tinkle above the door, her ears twitched forward, and she moved to come to the front, more curious then weary.]
Welcome to Knit Wit. What can I assist you with?
Wildcard
Aka hit me with whatever! But if you want to know of her usual to find spots:

C - Sweet Chimera
Everything's going great! People love knowing how to alter their clothes. Some just want to learn the basics... But I'm sure they'll find something that speaks to them!
[Some of the example clothes on the table are the sorts of things one might expect, of people from Dorchacht or Aefenglom. Other things are... Well, take the shirt he's wearing in demonstration. Short sleeved, colorful, with a two word motto on it. There's signs of other similar things, with other mottos or even an embroidered skull filling the front.
But, aside from the fabric he's cleaning up, there's no sign of explosions in here.]
no subject
[So this is...Papyrus? He was a lively one. Did his shirt really say Utterly Rad?
...is that an embroidered skull? She has. A few regrets in coming up and trying to help with folding cloths.]
When they...discover their style.
no subject
[It really does say UTTERLY RAD, yes.
His questionably fashionable choices aside, most things are altered well enough to be useful demonstrations. Just... very lively.
And then, who knows. They might come around to liking cool skulls and fire designs. Or, or fish, or stars. Or those gentle flower patterns, like pillows have.
no subject
[Don't mind her she's looking over the designs. Caren...being sheltered as she was, isn't familiar with some of them.
She does like the flower patterns, but that's because she likes flowers.]
...when did you make all of these?
no subject
[You know, because the Rathmores. So terrible. It's still a relief those people won't be hurting anyone else, even if he's still squeamish about why they won't be.]
And I missed my style from home! So, I told myself, Papyrus... Why not show everyone what they're missing! And they'll see how us Mirrorbound are really great to have around.
[Instead of just sweeping the jerks away and pretending all was well on the resentment front... He could push to cultivate genuine welcome and appreciation! Or at least be wearing clothes like he likes, again. Some of the time.
He considers the most elaborate of the patterns, and points at the embroidery.]
But a few of them, I asked professionals to help.
no subject
[Yeah, that would be...a thing. She wonders if he has a place to live now, but here's hoping. She doesn't even spare a thought for the Rathmores.]
It was productive of you to do that. But...I can see why you asked some of the professionals to help with this.
[Her fingers were careful, gentle over the embroidery. Her fingernails are still short from the months previous, but she doesn't want to snag it.]
...did the class like this? Making new clothing?
no subject
Well, we started with altering. It seemed like too much, cutting fabric patterns the first day. Choosing the right size...
[People might get overwhelmed with the measurements. And he's not used to accommodating for muscles. Next time, he thinks, he'll have them turn some outfits inside out to get an idea of how it was all put together. And then they'll be ready to give that a shot.]
So we went over little revision things! Hems that need hemming... Bland outfits that could use a little flare...
[Most people opted for just neatening their things. But a few had left with thoughtful looks in their eyes about the embroidered designs, and one or two had really taken a shine to the encouraging words.]
Just little, easy ways to feel good about their clothes! It can really put a whole new spin on your day.
no subject
It would be, certainly. People here are still new to the idea of doing...many things for themselves. That's why they asked me to conduct the lessons.
[But after...what had happened, she needed to rest. This wasn't quite resting, but it does mean she's not driving anyone at home up the wall. Just maybe Papyrus.]
So good, small things could really give them some confidence and cheer. And hopefully help you from being overwhelmed too.
no subject
When Papyrus has a project to focus on, his productivity is way up there! Which also skews his expectations for what others are capable of, in a bad way. And comes out sometimes when he's torn between judging and feeling concern.]
Me, overwhelmed by a class? Pshhh.
[Papyrus scoffs and waves a hand dismissively.]
I'm barely overwhelmed by my new instincts anymore. A class is nothing!
[Except maybe a last straw, if they were terribly rude and pushy. But so far they've been kind of uncomfortably the opposite of that. Like a class full of Napstablooks, slightly hopeful but mostly quiet and hesitant.]
no subject
But yes, he's been very productive! And she's glad that people have been enjoying themselves. It bodes well for...this may be a school? She guesses? If it keeps going well maybe.]
New instincts...? I know that I still have to keep myself from burying leftovers in the garden.
[Because you know, fox things.]
But if you're sure they were all right...then would you mind doing double classes next week?
no subject
Oh, wow! They're that popular, huh...? I mean, of course they are!!
[Boasting aside, he's pleased by the idea, smiling with more crinkle and a little pink in his cheekbones.]
And I won't say no to helping. I only have one job this month, anyway. You can count on me!
[And between his energy and the increased exposure, maybe a few more of these recovering Dorchacht monsters will find the confidence and artistic vision to adopt his fashionable recommendations.]
no subject
People like customizing their clothing. However, I have a condition on this.
[She holds up a finger. Well then.]
You're still going to get enough proper rest, food, and socializing as you need outside of the job. I was already scolded for not doing self care. I'm not going to have my employees, temporary as they may be, make the same mistake.
no subject
I... get enough rest. And food, and socializing.
[There's the tiniest bit of sweat on the side of his skull, where the fur starts growing, but he nods.]
Well, if it's part of the job. Then never fear! I'll continue my great self care streak.
[His face scrunches slightly, a little baffled by the requirement, as he's not used to people telling him things like that. Toriel would chide his sleep schedule from time to time, when she caught on, and he never quite acclimated to that part of her mom energy... And his sleep hasn't improved since coming here.]
no subject
Mmmm. Somehow, I have my doubts.
[That finger is coming closer. She might poke. She's close to poking!]
But I'll take your word. Just remember. You're a role model as a teacher, and there are people here who need to learn good habits.
So if you break your streak...the worst thing will happen.
[A beat. And:]
I'll be disappointed in you.
no subject
Oh no! Don't be disappointed in me!!
[The second most terrible of fates.]
I'll... doubledown on my rest.
[He is almost certainly not going to sleep more. But he can lay in bed an extra hour and brainstorm ideas for the day, and if by chance sleep takes him, then everyone is happier.]
But I'm already doing great at the other things, really!
no subject
I won't be if you uphold your end of the bargain. This is a serious matter.
[Rest is fine. At least he's attempting some care, and that's all the better.]
I'm sure you're absolutely wonderful at them Papyrus. That doesn't change the fact that your students may admire you so much that they may emulate your habits.
After all-they're still new at making choices for themselves.
[Whether witch or monster.]
no subject
...You're right.
[He says it slowly, almost begrudgingly, but sincerity rushes in afterwards.]
You're right! I need to be a role model. It's not enough to be cool, capable, and confident...
I need to demonstrate a well-rounded life!
[Rounded with hours and hours of sloth in bed, he guesses. At least it's a far better fate for them than their previous history.]
no subject
Maybe you'll become even more cool, capable and confident by being a well rounded guy? And a great role model for all you meet?
[Even if this means a lot of Watch scrolling, it's still rest!]
no subject
[Heart on sleeve, and hand on hip with the self-aggrandizing words.]
But!! I could be even moreso! Thanks for the advice!
no subject
[She ducked her head briefly, hiding a smile. He's very energetic, that's for certain.]
Very well then. I'll leave you to it. I'll be in the kitchen, if you have a meal or snack request.
