I. Welcome! ♥

On Feoveuer 14th regulars of DiplomaTea will immediately notice that the place looks different. Fresh flowers, garlands and paper decorations are everywhere, all in lovely shades of pink and red. Heart-shaped confetti is falling from the ceiling, magicked to disappear shortly after touching the floor so it would not make a mess. Quiet music is filling the whole cafe, one of the many masterpieces of Amadeus Mozart and a particual favorite of Marie who picked this particular song to play. Even those who have missed Marie's flyers and announcements about the upcoming event would definitely notice that something joyous is going on inside, why not check it out and join everyone?

If you haven't heard before, the posters will explain everything. Today's event, The Festival of Love celebrates the holiday known as Valentine's Day some Mirrorbound might be familiar with. This is the day to celebrate love in all shapes and forms. Spend a wonderful, romantic evening with your partner... or your friends and family, because these kinds of love are important too! Or get some sweets and eat them all by yourself, because self love is also important! All money collected during today's event will go to aid the refugees and help those who have been affected during last month - celebration of love for your fellow woman, man and everyone else.

a. Preparations ♥

Of course an event this big cannot happen without the help of many. Making and putting up the decorations, enchanting the confetti and music, building the booths, preparing the tables, all of this and much more took almost the whole previous day. Everett will also defintely need part-timers to help tending to the increased number of custoers during the event. If you visited DiplomaTea during that time, you probably couldn't enjoy your drink in peace... or maybe you were roped into helping? Marie gives you a pleading look. Every pair of hands is useful, you know!

II. The Festival of Love ♥

Kissing Booths ♥

Two hastily made but lovingly decorated wooden booths have been placed on DiplomaTea porch. For supporting the cause with a small fee of 100 cunes the person inside will gladly give you a lovely kiss... though you are, of course, welcome to throw an even bigger amount into the donation box! The Mirrorbound staff the booths in shifts so nobody will be forced to sit out the whole event and more volunteers are always welcome... come on, don't you want to support the charitable cause? Marie is quite persuasive, she might find a way to convince you even if it's not something you would have usually agreed to ♥ Or maybe your crush is currently in the booth and this is your big chance? Either way, thank you for your support, good people!

Bake Sale ♥

Are you skilled with the cooking appliances? Would you like these skills to serve a good cause? The tables just next to the main entrance of DiplomaTea have been filled with cakes, pastries and other kinds of sweets donated by Mirrorbound - help yourself to some! You have to pay for it, of course, but all the money collected helps the charitable cause! For those who are not fond of sweet things, savory and spicy snacks are also found on the table.

Did you bring a dish? Would you like to buy something? Or maybe you are just staffing the tables and helping with the bake sale itself? All kinds of help are appreciated! Are you culinarily challenged but refuse to admit it? Thank you for your donation anyway, it is going on sale! Did anyone see the Fae who donated these cupcakes? These appear to be enchanted and eating one will cause you to say the opposite what you mean for fifteen minutes. What do you mean, Marie, we are putting these on sale as well? an ornate golden ring Fae-blessed to provide the wearer 12 hours of invisibility (which does not have to be used consecutively, it's 'turned on and off' by rubbing the stone set into it, and does not conceal the wearer from other Fae)
a suit set and a dress that will both transform magically to fit whatever Monster form the wearer has (and will also take on the wearer's color and design preferences)
a book on imbuing baked goods with minor luck spells - good and bad both.

Or maybe you are celebrating self love and just want a spell that will allow you to eat a lot of sweets without consequences tonight? Perfect! Another idea? Be sure to communicate it well, you would not want to end up with an enchanted painting that gives a different effect you originally wanted... though even if you do, the magic will only work for a few hours. You can wait that long, can you?

Magic Show ♥

Trucy Wright, one of the recent arrivals to Aefenglom is on stage and about to perform her splendid magic show! Huh, that's nothing special in Aefenglom, you might think. Magic is an everyday thing for every Witch after all. However, this young lady here is not a Witch, so how does she do it? With totally real magic, of course! Get your seats and pay close attention to everything she does, but you are not very likely to notice anything - this girl is a professional, after all. In using real magic, of course! Or maybe you have similar skills? You are welcome to join her on stage and perform your own well-practiced trick. If it's not as well-practiced as you thought... well, at least you made the audience laugh? In need of a charming assistant? Just pick someone more or less willing from the audience!

III. Cleanup ♥

Tired after a busy day? Congratulate yourself on a job well done, we managed to collect a nice sum that will certainly help a lot! But before you can rest in your bed, there's more to be done. Taking off decorations, removing the confetti enchantments, washing the dishes, collecting the trash and cleaning the whole place. We cannot leave Everett alone with this mess after he was so nice to allow the usage of DiplomaTea for today's event, can we? You can stay and help, can you? Maybe there are some leftowers from the bake sale to sweeten the deal?

[ They sort of were, originally. So Judar was going to make them into something similar in this place as well. Which might mean changing their form somewhat, but he'd rather use something familiar that was his, than get new materials and jewelry. ]

[ That was a good question. To which, Judar didn't have much of an answer, after he was told to find a way to spend his evening away from the apartment he'd just moved into. ]

The fastest way would probably be to just drop them off at Inkchanted. I can't predict where I'll be for a while.

Fair enough. Then again they may also take offense to being burned by a scalding hot beverage as well.

[Emil rolls his eyes, but he still looks around for someone to check in with before glancing back at Mikasa.]

I'm not sure, I never had it before I came here. I do know it's white and kind of...I don't know how to explain the taste? Like butter but very mild, and sweet. It's quite good.

Oh, I'm sure. But I'd still be entertained. And that's the important thing, don't you think?

[It doesn't really occur to Emil that he's speaking poorly about himself. Generally, he considers himself to have a decent perception of himself, considering he has quite a positive opinion of his appearance and all that. Still, he's also been very thoroughly informed through personal experience that he isn't exactly universally appealing or desirable.]

Oh, uh. Thank you, I think?

[He can't help the slight flush on his cheeks as Kaden asks him to promise he'll tell him if he feels unwantable again so he can fix it. Well, that's...nice. Very nice, actually.]

I promise. That I'll tell you.

[It's... fulfilling, in a way she wasn't aware a platonic kiss could actually be fulfilling until just now. Taken off guard by her own feelings on the matter, she lets him stay for as long as he desires before pulling back, eyes wide. Sure, her sense of temperature may be totally shot, but suffice it to say he qualifies as a good kisser.]

I can believe it with a kiss like that.

[The smile that creeps along her face is acknowledging, cognizant of the sincerity behind it. Actually, she can't help but giggle a few times, giddy for no good reason.]

Gods, but talk about putting your money where your mouth is. Best one I've had all day.

[It's still a little strange to be in a world that's so different and so strange and which works so much differently from his own, but which has so much in common with it at the same time. He feels both incredibly foreign and comfortably familiar at the same time, and it's a bit weird to get used to.

That comment from Eren gets his brows raising though.]

Oh! May I ask what it is? Your agenda, I mean. Or is it private? That's fine too.

[Strangely, he is entirely genuine when he says that. He really doesn't mind if Eren doesn't want to share, though he is curious.]

Oh, well, I mean, people are always suffering. I don't have to see them do it in order to know they need help. That's just natural, right?

[A shrug. It doesn't seem particularly charitable to him, or anything. The bit about being anxious all the time about things that don't even have to make sense is very relatable and it takes away some of the sting of the rejection.]

Ah, yes. That sounds difficult to live with, I'm sorry to hear it. And, oh, I'm Emil. Pleased to meet you.

[Having pulled back to place reasonable distance between them, Mettaton can only smirk, smug thanks to her compliment. Unsurprised. Like he believes that this is the only possible outcome, that she'd think so.]

Of course it would be your best. Could anything less be expected out of a beloved star...?

[Because being famous in any capacity must mean he's good at kissing, obviously. Not for any other reasons.

Still, his cocky smirk takes on a bit of a more contented edge at the sight of her wide eyes and giggles. It's cute. Laughter is contagious, and so is sincerity. Not even Mettaton can remain stupidly smug in the face of it.]

I'm sure I won't have to beg under the mistletoe, or pay any cunes for my next one, then! Since you've realized what a pleasure I am... Haha. But... my. You are cold, aren't you? Not that a robot should have any complaints. Temperature, in itself... is a novelty to me. Both heat, and cold. I mind it neither way.

[ It's that comment that gets Vanitas to laugh. If entertainment is the goal, then the reaction would be that, if nothing else. ]

So here you were pointing out this characteristic in myself earlier while harboring it yourself. Now I wonder what sort of reaction you expected from me in that moment.

( emil is kind. not necessarily soft, but there's something there, and kaden does feel drawn to it. easy to do so when he's been used to being around others for quite some time with similar dispositions. he'll protect that as best as he can.

I think you were hoping that I'd be offended. Or maybe make some desperate claim that I'm not as mean as all that. Just so you'd have something else to tear apart.

[ At least that is what he'd expect from someone. Someone that's not like him, that is. ]

There's a promise for more, out of public view, and it makes him worried and excited and a mix of both. As the only certainty in this, he quickly shakes his head, fretful in his next words. ]

[ Shame fills him, but so is his desire to have more intimate experiences for himself.

[ Aqua's face heats up a bit, but she smiles softly. ]

[ spoken with a sort of satisfaction of having been apart of that, yet he purposefully keeps his tone solemn enough that that may be difficult to catch. ]

But not apart of the upheaval that was to follow, perhaps only as bystander — yet, still vital in helping the innocent to safety.

And the people would answer the call, the Resistance, the Mirrorbound, and those alike — and it set the city aflame. But with a fire that was meant to both destroy its old regime as well as bring forth new life. It took a heavy toll. But ultimately, a new order was established... One where its people are intended to be free.

And thus, modern Dorchacht, I would think. [ his smile is rueful. ] I did provide to you a summary [ and hence, some details here and there glossed over ], but that would account for its history since the involvement of Mirrorbound.

... It wasn't.

[ Since his awakening upon discovering he really doesn't mind such interactions with other men... Wataru is still getting the hang of things. It's hard, I'm telling you! ]

It's still pretty embarrassing, though...

[ Well, can't argue that he's exhausted. And though he wants to keep going because it's his dang duty, his arms feel like lead when he holds up the broom towards Viren to give it away.

He sighs, now devoid of his improvised crutch. ]

[ Alex smiles as she hands her the bag, but her ears perk up at the familiar name. There could be other Lindens, sure, but... ]

Any chance he's..pretty tall, a little lanky [ more like seriously needs to eat] , kinda pale [ possibly needs more sleep ], that Linden?

Oh, I see...

[ She was hoping to hand them to him personally so she can be a hundred percent sure they get to him. But she does wonder a little bit about what he said. ]

Are you..planning on going somewhere?

[ At least, he made it sound that way. Though based on those crutches, he probably shouldn't be going anywhere too far. ]

You've got a bit of opportunity to do that now, Towa.

[ He means it. At home, there has been so little time to engage in new hobbies because he was pretty busy making sure a race of vampires wouldn't declare war on all humans. But here it's different... quite so. ]

Since I've arrived, I think I learned more than I ever did back home... it's been nearly half a year ever since.

[ The accurate answer was that he'll probably be off being even more feral as it gets closer to nightfall. For now, he glances around the shop, at the various people, and gets a bit of a smirk on his face. ]

I'm thinking a few somewheres, actually. Can't say where just yet, but I think I can arrange a few things.
