...wait, who prepared this poster? The vibe it gives off is totally wrong... ah, well, it will do! ♥

I. Welcome! ♥

On Feoveuer 14th regulars of DiplomaTea will immediately notice that the place looks different. Fresh flowers, garlands and paper decorations are everywhere, all in lovely shades of pink and red. Heart-shaped confetti is falling from the ceiling, magicked to disappear shortly after touching the floor so it would not make a mess. Quiet music is filling the whole cafe, one of the many masterpieces of Amadeus Mozart and a particual favorite of Marie who picked this particular song to play. Even those who have missed Marie's flyers and announcements about the upcoming event would definitely notice that something joyous is going on inside, why not check it out and join everyone?

If you haven't heard before, the posters will explain everything. Today's event, The Festival of Love celebrates the holiday known as Valentine's Day some Mirrorbound might be familiar with. This is the day to celebrate love in all shapes and forms. Spend a wonderful, romantic evening with your partner... or your friends and family, because these kinds of love are important too! Or get some sweets and eat them all by yourself, because self love is also important! All money collected during today's event will go to aid the refugees and help those who have been affected during last month - celebration of love for your fellow woman, man and everyone else.

a. Preparations ♥

Of course an event this big cannot happen without the help of many. Making and putting up the decorations, enchanting the confetti and music, building the booths, preparing the tables, all of this and much more took almost the whole previous day. Everett will also defintely need part-timers to help tending to the increased number of custoers during the event. If you visited DiplomaTea during that time, you probably couldn't enjoy your drink in peace... or maybe you were roped into helping? Marie gives you a pleading look. Every pair of hands is useful, you know!

II. The Festival of Love ♥

Kissing Booths ♥

Two hastily made but lovingly decorated wooden booths have been placed on DiplomaTea porch. For supporting the cause with a small fee of 100 cunes the person inside will gladly give you a lovely kiss... though you are, of course, welcome to throw an even bigger amount into the donation box! The Mirrorbound staff the booths in shifts so nobody will be forced to sit out the whole event and more volunteers are always welcome... come on, don't you want to support the charitable cause? Marie is quite persuasive, she might find a way to convince you even if it's not something you would have usually agreed to ♥ Or maybe your crush is currently in the booth and this is your big chance? Either way, thank you for your support, good people!

Bake Sale ♥

Are you skilled with the cooking appliances? Would you like these skills to serve a good cause? The tables just next to the main entrance of DiplomaTea have been filled with cakes, pastries and other kinds of sweets donated by Mirrorbound - help yourself to some! You have to pay for it, of course, but all the money collected helps the charitable cause! For those who are not fond of sweet things, savory and spicy snacks are also found on the table.

Did you bring a dish? Would you like to buy something? Or maybe you are just staffing the tables and helping with the bake sale itself? All kinds of help are appreciated! Are you culinarily challenged but refuse to admit it? Thank you for your donation anyway, it is going on sale! Did anyone see the Fae who donated these cupcakes? These appear to be enchanted and eating one will cause you to say the opposite what you mean for fifteen minutes. What do you mean, Marie, we are putting these on sale as well? Could it be... that Fae was... No, impossible!

Auction ♥

Want to support the cause with a bigger sum? As a part of the main event, a couple of items will be auctioned. To show their support, the Coven donated several valuables that could definitely be of use for both Witches and Monsters:
an ornate golden ring Fae-blessed to provide the wearer 12 hours of invisibility (which does not have to be used consecutively, it's 'turned on and off' by rubbing the stone set into it, and does not conceal the wearer from other Fae)
a suit set and a dress that will both transform magically to fit whatever Monster form the wearer has (and will also take on the wearer's color and design preferences)
a book on imbuing baked goods with minor luck spells - good and bad both.

It can make you give off a charming aura, perfect if you are still looking for someone to spend the evening with or trying to grab the attention of that particular person. Or maybe you are celebrating self love and just want a spell that will allow you to eat a lot of sweets without consequences tonight? Perfect! Another idea? Be sure to communicate it well, you would not want to end up with an enchanted painting that gives a different effect you originally wanted... though even if you do, the magic will only work for a few hours. You can wait that long, can you?

Magic Show ♥

Trucy Wright, one of the recent arrivals to Aefenglom is on stage and about to perform her splendid magic show! Huh, that's nothing special in Aefenglom, you might think. Magic is an everyday thing for every Witch after all. However, this young lady here is not a Witch, so how does she do it? With totally real magic, of course! Get your seats and pay close attention to everything she does, but you are not very likely to notice anything - this girl is a professional, after all. In using real magic, of course! Or maybe you have similar skills? You are welcome to join her on stage and perform your own well-practiced trick. If it's not as well-practiced as you thought... well, at least you made the audience laugh? In need of a charming assistant? Just pick someone more or less willing from the audience!

III. Cleanup ♥

Tired after a busy day? Congratulate yourself on a job well done, we managed to collect a nice sum that will certainly help a lot! But before you can rest in your bed, there's more to be done. Taking off decorations, removing the confetti enchantments, washing the dishes, collecting the trash and cleaning the whole place. We cannot leave Everett alone with this mess after he was so nice to allow the usage of DiplomaTea for today's event, can we? You can stay and help, can you? Maybe there are some leftowers from the bake sale to sweeten the deal?

[If he can enchant something similarly, he doesn't have to be the same person who did the previous enchantment. Near just needs results.]

They had a piece of jewelry. I need something like that - something that can protect me from the cold.

[The tattoo he's looking into could hopefully regulate a little more than that, but if he sheds his skin and loses the ink in the process, he'll need a backup. And cold is more deadly to him than a hot summer day.]

[Sure, Rose could help with the cleanup, but she’s not going to. Instead, she’s perfectly content to stand around and judge people, silently. Or loudly, depending on what time it is.]

[Almost as soon as she catches Vanitas’ eye, he approaches her. She’s going to ignore his first question—largely because he has a point—and instead address the larger issue.]

Color me surprised. I hadn’t expected to see you so eager to clean up.

[Hector pulls back. The donor stumbles on to the next booth, seemingly unperturbed by the heckling.]

Fuck off, Belmont.

[Why do you hate charity, Trevor? Hector is just doing what the fae girl told him to do. He doesn't need a candy-crunching buffoon providing commentary while he kisses strangers.]

[Which is exactly why he'd never go along with it. Rose seeing him in this booth in the first place was bad enough.

And with her expression, it takes no effort at all to maintain the most grumbly and generally disgruntled demeanor.]

If you're referring to Mira, you'd be wrong. Oh, she's the reason I'm in this place at all, but no- this is the result of some poorly timed wandering, nothing more. [A slow shrug.] And if few choose to approach, so much the better. Though I see you were not deterred.

[You do know what kind of booth this is, Rose.]

I figured as much. Can't say I really stuck around many gatherings to find out. In the future I might not do this again.

[ Of course that could depend upon who tells him to come along. ]

Just where do you think my money comes from old man?

[ Just like the Ascian, Vanitas doesn't have a job! Though every now and then he offers to enchant something for a sum. That usually works in his benefit. However, he isn't going to buy them all goodness.

Though he may agree to the grab them all and Mira and then promptly leave plan. That sounds so appealing right now. ]

Now as for the dragon-cat... I don't know. In order to see which I would get, I'd have to get inside his head. People like Rose are easy. That wasn't really much of a challenge at all. K'rihnn... I might have to watch him more.

[ As expected, it takes him a second or two to see that someone is literally waving him down because... he sort of has to look down a bit. Arms still crossed against his chest, he blinks because... who is this and why are they waving at him?? A lost child??

A lost child sassing him it seems. ]

Making... what faces?

[ What's wrong with his face?? ]

Well now that doesn't sound very in the spirit of love.

[ He is ABSOLUTELY being a shit on purpose. You know, in case it wasn't obvious. ]

Some of us don't prefer to be slobs.

[ It's... Actually true. Though there is a reason that Vanitas prefers clean and somewhat organized spaces. A lot of that stems from being stranded, alone in that wasteland like he was. No potions. No healing magic. To avoid infections from wounds he had received, he had to be clean. ]

I certainly do.

[She offered a slow blink and glanced from the cup to Vanitas.]

ButI believe I know a way to solve it.

[ OH, LOOK. IT'S SORA.

Having wandered his way on here and still being here, he spots SORA there and decides he was... a little weird the last time they ran into each other, so... maybe it's better they start off on a less weird not. ~~lol~~ Hence, his coming on over with a sucker in his mouth, arms folded against his chest.

Does he just start with HI?? ]

Looks like it.

[ Or that. ]

Guess that's why it's this festival of... whatever. Love or something.

[Kissing Booth]

[There is a list of places that Randy Orlando should never be, and behind a kissing booth is one of them. He’s never met Marie before this event, but she doesn’t need him to ask twice. She doesn’t even need to ask him once. He volunteers.]

[There is a very clumsily drawn sign in front of his booth. The 100 in front of cune has a slash in front of it, and 50 is written above. And manning the booth is the one, the only, macho man Randy Orlando.]

Looking for something to sweeten up your Valentine’s Day?

[Stand and Serve]

[Once Randy is ~~forcefully ejected~~ finished with his shift in the kissing booth area, he decides to help distribute sweets. It’s for a good cause, of course, and he’s happy to do what he can to help out.]

[Only, something seems to be wrong with the cupcakes, and he doesn’t notice until it’s too late. He does his best to do damage control, approaching anybody with a cupcake in hand.]

Hey, uh, I’m gonna need that back.

[Perhaps you’ve already eaten the cupcake, and want to tell him to shove off. Or perhaps you’ve eaten a cupcake, and want to tell Randy he’s the most beautiful man you’ve ever seen. Everyone needs to hear white lies now and then.]

[Clean Up]

[Randy may be a Mess, but he’s not a mess, and so he volunteers for cleanup duty, too. He seems genuinely cheerful as he’s sweeping up, and even smiles when he turns to the person next to him and offers them a broom.]

_{[Only this is no child at all. What child uses big words and actually cares about "the hustle"? No, no...this is a Lady Lalafell and an adult one at that. Which...probably will make everything about this encounter worse.

As soon as Tataru's got his attention she brings up her other hand only so she can point at her teeth, head still tipped up to look at him.]}

_{[She demonstrates, opening her mouth and furrowing her brow in a lazy sort of way. It looks...almost endearing really. Definitely not scary. The lack of fangs certainly doesn't help her in making her point.]}

It makes you look a bit peckish, and not for kisses. I'm certain you're a respectable man but some people here are skittish, especially if they're used to being seen as a snack.

_{[She'd know. She's been nearly eaten a few times throughout her life.]}

Smile a bit! You look as if you're having the life sucked out of you.

[Whether it was or not, Mira doesn't seem to mind the idea. She swears she heard a couple of whistles but doesn't believe they came because of their little show. Spoilers: it is. For a few moments, it's just the two of them as she chuckles quietly.]

You're simply worth it I feel.

[Surely this will not bite anyone in the arse, right?]

Oh? I had just assumed you’d leave the cleaning to someone else.

[If Vanitas’ response speaks to his childhood in a wasteland, Rose’s probably speaks to the fact that she grew up in a sheltered home, where tasks were magically done, and there was plenty of healing magic to speak of.]

[But, she also can’t stand the thought of losing the moral ground to Vanitas, so she grabs a broom in turn, and starts to sweep. If he can be helpful, so can she.]

I haven't bought makeup before. I thought it'd be a good time to try it.

[It was true...more or less. She thought maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to try it once.

But hey, her color is better, and it does look like she has taken a few naps. Still, her voice is dry.]

But maybe I'm hoping I can trick someone to take my place...?

They will, certainly. Especially with a hot drink, such as tea or coffee, depending on what you prefer.

[Elliot is just staring at the sign.]

Did you....really discount yourself?

[He can't believe he's seeing a self-burn out here in the wild..]

[And she shrugs in reply.]

Every little bit helps that I do not mind letting some go.

[But can he control the sweet tooth? Don't go grabbing like ten of those tarts!]

[ He's not entirely certain that he likes where this is going... ]

Oh yeah? How do you plan to do that?

[ Yeah, he's walking right into it. ]

[Randy can only grin. It’s only a self-burn if you have a sense of shame. He doesn’t.]

Well, yeah. Why not, right? Figured this would be better for business.

[ Vanitas, of course, is completely oblivious to the fact that Trevor has met Sora. He's also unaware of how confused Trevor must be over the whole thing.

Most importantly... He has no idea Trevor had been that giant bat that he'd given a hard time to. ]

Not everyone has such lofty ideas of love. Some prefer to be on their own.

[ So they shouldn't shove it down their throats. ]

That's.....one way to look at it, I suppose.

[The other ways is ... much much sadder. But maybe he won't point it out]

Has it helped with business?

[ She's surprised to find Vanitas here. She's figured him for more of a loner as she's gotten to know him better, but maybe this'll be good for him. Then again, this was a day of love.... And he doesn't exactly look happy. ]

Were you really going to try to finish that by yourself?

[ That's... a lot for one person. But, that's the point. ]

Tch. Goes to show what you know. Do you really think Irhya and Mira do the cleaning back at the House?

[ Snorts. ]

Because you know the resident Ascian isn't going to lift a finger.

[ For real, though. Vanitas does do the chores back at the House when things start looking like they are going to get out of hand. Mira is so busy with things all the time. He isn't going to not contribute.

...Mostly because he thinks he might be kicked out if he doesn't. Less so now, but why take chances. ]
