...wait, who prepared this poster? The vibe it gives off is totally wrong... ah, well, it will do! ♥

I. Welcome! ♥

On Feoveuer 14th regulars of DiplomaTea will immediately notice that the place looks different. Fresh flowers, garlands and paper decorations are everywhere, all in lovely shades of pink and red. Heart-shaped confetti is falling from the ceiling, magicked to disappear shortly after touching the floor so it would not make a mess. Quiet music is filling the whole cafe, one of the many masterpieces of Amadeus Mozart and a particual favorite of Marie who picked this particular song to play. Even those who have missed Marie's flyers and announcements about the upcoming event would definitely notice that something joyous is going on inside, why not check it out and join everyone?

If you haven't heard before, the posters will explain everything. Today's event, The Festival of Love celebrates the holiday known as Valentine's Day some Mirrorbound might be familiar with. This is the day to celebrate love in all shapes and forms. Spend a wonderful, romantic evening with your partner... or your friends and family, because these kinds of love are important too! Or get some sweets and eat them all by yourself, because self love is also important! All money collected during today's event will go to aid the refugees and help those who have been affected during last month - celebration of love for your fellow woman, man and everyone else.

a. Preparations ♥

Of course an event this big cannot happen without the help of many. Making and putting up the decorations, enchanting the confetti and music, building the booths, preparing the tables, all of this and much more took almost the whole previous day. Everett will also defintely need part-timers to help tending to the increased number of custoers during the event. If you visited DiplomaTea during that time, you probably couldn't enjoy your drink in peace... or maybe you were roped into helping? Marie gives you a pleading look. Every pair of hands is useful, you know!

II. The Festival of Love ♥

Kissing Booths ♥

Two hastily made but lovingly decorated wooden booths have been placed on DiplomaTea porch. For supporting the cause with a small fee of 100 cunes the person inside will gladly give you a lovely kiss... though you are, of course, welcome to throw an even bigger amount into the donation box! The Mirrorbound staff the booths in shifts so nobody will be forced to sit out the whole event and more volunteers are always welcome... come on, don't you want to support the charitable cause? Marie is quite persuasive, she might find a way to convince you even if it's not something you would have usually agreed to ♥ Or maybe your crush is currently in the booth and this is your big chance? Either way, thank you for your support, good people!

Bake Sale ♥

Are you skilled with the cooking appliances? Would you like these skills to serve a good cause? The tables just next to the main entrance of DiplomaTea have been filled with cakes, pastries and other kinds of sweets donated by Mirrorbound - help yourself to some! You have to pay for it, of course, but all the money collected helps the charitable cause! For those who are not fond of sweet things, savory and spicy snacks are also found on the table.

Did you bring a dish? Would you like to buy something? Or maybe you are just staffing the tables and helping with the bake sale itself? All kinds of help are appreciated! Are you culinarily challenged but refuse to admit it? Thank you for your donation anyway, it is going on sale! Did anyone see the Fae who donated these cupcakes? These appear to be enchanted and eating one will cause you to say the opposite what you mean for fifteen minutes. What do you mean, Marie, we are putting these on sale as well? an ornate golden ring Fae-blessed to provide the wearer 12 hours of invisibility (which does not have to be used consecutively, it's 'turned on and off' by rubbing the stone set into it, and does not conceal the wearer from other Fae)
a suit set and a dress that will both transform magically to fit whatever Monster form the wearer has (and will also take on the wearer's color and design preferences)

Or maybe you are celebrating self love and just want a spell that will allow you to eat a lot of sweets without consequences tonight? Perfect! Another idea? Be sure to communicate it well, you would not want to end up with an enchanted painting that gives a different effect you originally wanted... though even if you do, the magic will only work for a few hours. You can wait that long, can you?

Magic Show ♥

Trucy Wright, one of the recent arrivals to Aefenglom is on stage and about to perform her splendid magic show! Huh, that's nothing special in Aefenglom, you might think. Magic is an everyday thing for every Witch after all. However, this young lady here is not a Witch, so how does she do it? With totally real magic, of course! Get your seats and pay close attention to everything she does, but you are not very likely to notice anything - this girl is a professional, after all. In using real magic, of course! Or maybe you have similar skills? You are welcome to join her on stage and perform your own well-practiced trick. If it's not as well-practiced as you thought... well, at least you made the audience laugh? In need of a charming assistant? Just pick someone more or less willing from the audience!

III. Cleanup ♥

Tired after a busy day? Congratulate yourself on a job well done, we managed to collect a nice sum that will certainly help a lot! But before you can rest in your bed, there's more to be done. Taking off decorations, removing the confetti enchantments, washing the dishes, collecting the trash and cleaning the whole place. We cannot leave Everett alone with this mess after he was so nice to allow the usage of DiplomaTea for today's event, can we? You can stay and help, can you? Maybe there are some leftowers from the bake sale to sweeten the deal?

We didn't either. Have magic back home, I mean. [Hiccup laughs.] I've been here for months, though, and I'm still learning all the things you can do with enchantments.

Only the dagger has one. The blade heats up so it will slice through most anything, and can quickly cauterize. I've used one like it when a tree on my property got infected in some of the branches; cut off the branches and burn the ends, save the rest of the tree. [It had seemed important not to just chop the whole thing down, considering some birds had been nesting in it.]

The prices for these have already gone pretty high, but they aren't unique pieces. I own the forge, just outside town, if you ever need anything. I know just starting out here can be rough, so I'm always willing to take trades.

[Leslie nods.]

There was, but this one is from another planet with a Feoveuer, so normally they wouldn’t both happen except in a case like this. And I think people are looking for a reason to celebrate after...everything that happened.

[Her expression is a little awkward for a moment as she thinks back to the trial, but she returns to an unburdened smile as she puts that thought aside.]

I think I like this one better, though. They might both be about connecting with people you like, but for Valentine’s Day, it’s for giving sweets your friends and acquaintances instead of courting. I think some people might be using it for courting anyway, but that’s not the real point.

[Leslie might have gotten the wrong impression about the holiday, and avoiding the bonfires means that she never discovered about Faiolleach‘s own sweets traditions.]

[There is absolutely no explanation offered as to why there is a nearly seven foot tall, pale ghost of a woman sitting at the kissing booth. Maria has an impressively intense Resting Bitch Face, and she is making absolutely no attempt to look any more warm or inviting.

In fact, she sits with her hands atop the table, fingers interlaced, and her legs crossed beneath it like an unimpressed HR manager giving a job interview. The little placard with prices on it looks, in fact, more like it should be offering probabilities of her stabbing someone in the throat than kissing them, but no, there's no sign of that. It's just a simple price for a kiss.

Clearly, she looks out of place, though no more or less annoyed than usual. What brought her here, she does not say; she doesn't say anything to anyone until the walk up and put their money down, in fact. It's a test of mettle as much as anything, and the real question is...

Who's brave enough?]

[Elliot didn't have time to volunteer for this, but he made sure to stop by to show his support for Marie. He was wandering around, looking at the sights, when he hears Emil address him]

Er-

[He'd been avoiding the kissing booth, but now that someone's directly calling him out on it]

D-Do we...have to kiss if I donate?

[Emil's a cute looking guy, but he's never met this man before ok]

[Rose absolutely knows what kind of booth this is. She also knows that Hades doesn’t work for free, so as long as she doesn’t leave him money, there’s no risk. It’s the perfect plan.]

[She keeps smiling.]

Oh? And why is it you didn’t just turn them down? Surely they have a surplus of volunteers?

[There’s no way she would be deterred. Now that they’re friends, he gets to see the absolute best part of her personality—the merciless troll.]

[He remembers Alex as one of the patients in the infirmary that he'd assist with. It was nice to see her doing a lot better, so he decided to go say hi. As he approaches and sees her breadwork, he's honestly impressed]

Wow, these are beautiful....!

[He's definitely going to buy one, he can see his housemates loving this.]

Haha, that's some challenge though... [He might do it, it does seem fun]

[Elliot didn't have much interest in the kissing booths, since kissing strangers for money just felt...a little awkward. So he's only passing by it when he spots Wataru there. That's enough to Wataru]

Wataru? You're doing the kissing booth?

[He's a little surprised. The guy did not seem like the assertive flirty type. Then again, he was the type to try to help out anyone he can...]

[She'd been content to just offer Connor a small smile and a wave when she spotted him at the festival, but it's the doodles that draw her in and she positively gawks, treating him to an artist's favorite phrase:]

You drew that?

[Clearly, seeing that he's still holding the pencil. But she sounds truly impressed because, alas, Allura doesn't have an artistic bone in her body. She looks between his drawing, to a person in the crowd in front of them, clearly his subject.] That's incredible! It looks just like them.

[ nothing about this seems to particularly faze him. leisurely, and with an easy smile, he sets his money down. ]

This is kind of you all to do.

[ there's a cant of the head. ]

Just your hand will be fine. I don't want to make you uncomfortable.

[Some didn't but there's some murmurs in the crowd like 'Can I pay to see them do it again?' and 'Ok, I wanna know how good of a kisser that guy is now' because of their little show. Oh Halone, what is happening?]

And we may have gotten a bit of a following.

[If you think she is not going to fall for that tease...you'd be wrong because it's hard to resist. Besides, she's someone who finishes what she starts.]

[Ugh, he was boxed in (literally). He couldn't even complain that she was holding up actual paying customers because it's not like there were any of those lying around (and it wasn't as though he wanted any either).

And a smiling Rose was somehow far more concerning than a scowling one.]

I'm still not certain I actually agreed.

[He just ended up in a box. And so long as no one bothered him, it was a quiet enough place to sit.]

And you would be surprised at the dearth of acceptable candidates. Most are too shy, awkward, or otherwise inexperienced. My relatively minor flaw of abject apathy is but a minor hurdle.

[ Dragon!Eren bursting into buildings growling, “Oh yeah!” is a mental image no one deserves. ]

Not a big deal, huh? [ Observe as the gears shift in his head. ] Well, if it isn’t a big deal, you probably wouldn’t mind doing enchantments for a penniless, down-on-his-luck new Mirrorbound like me, right? Thanks for offering, man!

[ Hiccup. Hiccup, don’t stand for this. Put your foot, uh, prosthetic down. ]

[ Here is Person Who Could Not Refuse Marie #2.. Although Asahi's problems with coming here don't have much to do with any full moon. No, it's just that this whole festival is too much for her. She can't take this. She can't even say the l-word, it's too much.

So the idea of a kissing booth? It's the worst. No thanks. Where's the emergency secret. For a moment she looks super taken aback by what he's saying - her face colours until it's just about the same shade as her hair, before she quickly sputters out: ]

N-No way! [ Nothing personal, Lorenz. Asahi just dies internally at the thought of kissing anyone. ] If I really had to, I'd take the cat!

[Mira, no. Mira what have you done. That's a rather displeased sound he's making into that kiss (not so much that he's actually going to stop, though, of course). If he ends up having to actually do his job because of this, he's blaming you, Mira.]

Perhaps we should trade places, afterward.

[A low, almost threatening murmur against her mouth.]

[ At first Asahi is wondering she's she suddenly feeling so restless. Almost weirdly energized, except she doesn't feel like she has tons of energy either? It feels weirdly distant, like it's coming outside from her body, and after a few moments she seems to realise that oh god, that must be Momiji. And while it's natural to feel a lot of energy radiating from him, this feels like a little bit too much. It's almost unnatural.

So she immediately starts wandering around the festival in search of the boy. It should be made easier by her being able to sense him, but with how much he's moving all over the place, it's really hard to keep up with his exact position.

It feels like a huge relief when she finally manages to spot him sweeping up some confetti. Asahi just wraps her arms around his shoulders from behind, resting her head by putting her forehead down on his shoulder, and letting out such a deep breath. She almost seems out of breath, really. ]

Finally. What are you doing?

Ah, that isn't necessary.

[An unexpected offer, but he's kind enough with his refusal. His mind has been elsewhere, and she almost caught him out.]

But take the extra, regardless.

[Look, she was not expecting that much of a thing! She blushes a bit before pulling him upwards because as much as she enjoys the position, it can't be good for long periods.]

If that must be the price paid, then I will accept it.

Ah...!

[He's just taken a break from speeding across the tea-shop with his broom, so he can try to herd together some of the scraps he actually managed to catch, when Asahi catches him from behind. He jumps immediately--he's wound up and still not used to hugs that don't end in him exploding into a cloud of smoke.

But then he hears her voice and relaxes (as much as he can right now), wriggling back into her grip with a laugh.]

Oh, hey! I was just helping out with the festival. I'm cleaning up the decorations--

[The initial energy surge has passed its peak, but he's still not really able to keep still. He does, though, pause when her head drops onto his shoulder.]

Are you okay? Were you running around...?

Hello?

[ there's kaden, wondering what steak is looking at. he seems a little far away, what with those ears of his moving in thoughtful manner. he could easily recognize that kind of focus that stems from trying to hone in on something and with a somewhat active tail swaying behind him, kaden is also now intrigued. ]

Are you okay?

[Ah. He sees what's going on here. Hiccup is good-hearted, not completely stupid, and he gets a wry smile on his face as Stiles goes on. Luckily he can't really be taken advantage of. He's got more money than he needs thanks to Toothless shedding scales just constantly, and he does feel for the new arrivals, who really don't stand a chance of winning some of these auctions.]

Well, you know. I take labor in trade. How are you at construction? [He's half teasing, but half serious as well. The Phoenix Tear's damages from the fires last month aren't fully fixed yet and Hiccup could use another set of healthy hands for a few things.] And what were you needing?

a.) kissing booth!!!

[ with his favorite brush placed on the booth, kaden's prepared to do business. after seeing others take their turns, he's ready to earn some cunes for charity. it makes sense that he's basically doing some kind of favor in this regard, something he wants to continue to do; spread fortune through good deeds.

his head resting on his hands, propped up by both shoulders, he is more or less just waiting for someone to come by. however, it doesn't take long for his eyes to droop and his ears to follow suit, and soon he's mumbling wordlessly in his sleep. thank goodness the booth is sturdy enough to keep him propped up as he dozes! ]

[ there are two mugs in front of him: one with the cocoa and one with the tea. with a thoughtful hum, kaden grabs the cocoa at first and raises it up to his lips, taking one careful sip. licking his lips, the next hum that leaves him is one of concern, and he places it back down with a sigh. ]

Don't know if I can drink that one...

[ but then he brings the second drink for a cursory sniff, and both eyes widen in surprise. ]

... or this one.

[ he's conflicted. he took both drinks thinking he might be able to have at least one, but drinking either completely would probably mess him up pretty bad.

he needs help. please. ]

c.) cleanup

[ it's not that kaden meant to do any cleanup, but it's practically inevitable that bits and pieces of confetti and some of the decorations have somehow found themselves in the fur of his tail. it had been a pretty busy day and kaden hasn't had the time to do his afternoon brushing... so why not kill two birds with one stone?

carefully, he finds a corner and pulls up a chair, then takes the brush tucked away somewhere in the folds of his top. once his tail is in his lap, he can start the arduous process of brushing.

the confetti starts to fall out, disappearing once it hits the floor. he won't mind entertaining anyone right now, especially because he's only on stroke number fifteen! ]

d. wildcard

[ pm me if you wish to plot something else out, or just throw something down and i'll follow your lead! ]

[Ah, it's been a while since he last saw Momiji and he never did catch the young man's name, but he recognises him immediately as he all but buzzes from one thing to the next while never actually finishing anything. Not to know the tea is to blame but somewhat suspecting it, he leans on his brush and watches Momiji pass by in a flurry of movement... not for the first time.]

You should drink some water. [He advises mildly, tapping his fingers against the handle of the broom.]

Or... sit down for a few minutes. If you can.

You're hungry? Well, why didn't you say so? Surely you can have a cookie or two to nibble on.

_{[She can't imagine it'll be that much of a problem. It's not like there aren't a ton of them to choose from. The thought of him being a vampire completely flies over her head, if only because a man having fangs doesn't necessarily register as such. Fangs aren't that strange for a person to have where she's from, after all.]}

You're not going to get any business looking like that.

[Red Wine, of course, is the first to mock Steak... but it's with an edge of gentleness that isn't usually seen in their interactions. He leans on the table and smirks slightly, tossing a few coins out in front of his forearm.]

You'll be far more attractive if you smile.

[Hector nods, and he can't help but watch when Judar leaves the booth. He's not quite far enough gone down the faun path to track him down just yet, but Judar's name, and Judar's kiss, will stay on his mind as he gets there.]
