[Open] Come In From The Cold...

[If anyone knows the residents of the house, it might seem strange that such a group have selected a cozy abode for their home in the city. However, it is not to be said that they are unwelcoming (depending on who) and usually when someone comes to visit, there's always a warm cup of tea ready for them...and maybe some food to go along with it. Feels like a crime if someone doesn't get fed. And despite the hardships of the previous month, the house does welcome guests for any particular reasons whether a visit for the soul, a chat to catch up on events, or even maybe go a few rounds with the poor striking dummy in the backyard.

When you live with sword users and have stress, it gets used, ok?

It might be chilly outside but strange enough, the house itself is pretty warm. Just mind the gaelkitten and Flood running around from time to time.]

[Get used to hearing them, because Mettaton's full of terms of endearment! Mettaton gives Breezy a wave with the curl of his fingers. Cats who listen, instead of doing what they want? Unheard of.]

Of course! I would love that. [He closes the distance between himself and Mira, as though allowing Mira to lead the way. ...Oh, no, that's not what he's really doing. Mettaton has no trouble making himself at home wherever he goes. Instead, he's... scoping out the decoration with a critical eye, trying to determine what "touch" or "charm" their living space has. To see if its cozy exterior matches its interior. Has anybody bothered to decorate?]

Since it's been so "quiet..." I hope my company comes as an electrifying surprise. Personally, I'm pleased to see you! And to see that you've been doing better. Since you were so distressed, the last I saw you...

[He smiles at her, pleasant.]

All went well, I assume? With your daring rescue.

[The look Mira gives the boy is...well, a mix of tired and a flat stare so not very menacing.]

Are you one to speak on such things?

[Nonetheless, she does welcome the company.]

Apparently I am, seeing as I just did.

[ Mira, Vanitas isn't remotely intimidated or scared of you. ]

[The house itself is more homey and cozy rather than luxury like some places; rustic but not to be confused with poor. Mira herself isn't much for the sparkly and glam given her attire being a simple deep red sweater and black trousers...save for those stiletto thigh high boots. Seriously, kick anyone in those and the enemy will regret it.]

I'd offer tea but I'm not sure if it would harm you or not...

[Do robot puca drink? The woman might be 'less' stressed after the Rathmore's bullshit but she's tired. Will she admit it? Nope.]

Aye, he's been resting mostly. We got to him in time.

[She's been keeping an eye on him, even staying with him to try and rest. Didn't work for her but she kept watch when she couldn't sleep.]

[The glare makes Sora look a little crestfallen. But he quickly lets it go when he sees the magic start to affect the bush. It's really neat to watch the healing come to life. The branches budding and the fresh new-growth smell. Sora smiles. He's impressed!]

That's really amazing, Vanitas! Wow! Look at it grow!

[Vanitas' magic flowing through his own body isn't so heavy anymore after the time has passed but he can still feel the little flicker of it inside.]

You're doing really good. Keep it up.

[ Praise and complements... It makes Van's stomach do a weird little flip. Acknowledgement. Validation. These are things that he's wanted. No denial of that.

Just it's so weird hearing it from Sora.

He won't keep this up. Just enough to get it all started. If it gets cold again then he doesn't necessarily want this to get damaged. ]

[Her interior design gets a pass from Mettaton, though not because it aligns with his vision of proper decor. It gets it because he's making the assumption that Mira herself's responsible for the decorating, so he takes to it with a smile. He's charmed. ...If he had criticism, it's the lack of sparkle. Most things lack that, in Mettaton's MTT-Brand world. He files this complaint away for later. He doesn't even live here! But it's for the sake of concern, definitely nothing mischievous. Mira doesn't deserve that.

Mettaton gestures toward himself with a hand against his pink torso, leveling his confident golden gaze with hers.]

If you're offering... I wouldn't decline it! It won't harm me, unless you plan to tear me open and pour it on live wires. Oh my. Which I'm sure you're capable of... But you won't.

[Mettaton doesn't eat or drink. He wants tea just to have it.

At the mention of Emet-Selch's condition, Mettaton waves his hand and rolls his eye, a sneer making its way onto his expression.]

I know he's fine. Probably! [??!??!? Probably, because he might be dealing with some unrelated symptoms thanks to his latest Bond! Maybe. Mettaton sincerely doubts he's told Mira about any of this. Whatever. The Puca continues quickly to avoid discussions about him so soon, and he makes himself at home by taking a seat. He returns to that cheery smile.] But. I'm less concerned about him... and more concerned about you, beautiful. How are you doing, with his recovery? With all you had to see? With the stress of it all?

Who's a kid? Aren't we pretty much the same age?

[Sora grins teasingly. He kneels down to inspect the bush, fingers brushing over some of the leaves and buds gently.]

But really, Vanitas. I mean it. You look a lot better now and your magic feels stable again. I'm glad.

[ The response makes him scoff. In reality, he doesn't know if he is younger or older or how all that is supposed to work. ]

Physically, maybe. Mentally I think you may be lacking.

[ It's just how he is, Sora. Don't take it personally. Instead he watches Sora inspect the bush. ]

How do you know all that anyway?

[He was pretty much guessing as well.]

Geeze, Vanitas. You never hold back, do you...

[Sora's always the butt of that joke. He huffs.]

And, I don't know. It doesn't feel like it's burning much anymore. And you don't look sick anymore.

[ Maybe Sora isn't the most mature, but so what? Who cares... He's strong enough and that's what counts. ]

No, I don't. I'm not sure why you'd think that this would magically change.

[ That's dangerous territory to tread into Sora. Best not touch that one and move on. ]

Ha. I'm not sick is why. However you're acting like you can actually feel my magic.

[Vanitas wouldn't change in that regard. So he just laughs a bit.

But then he shrugs??]

[She has enough strength to bop him with a pillow and that's what she's doing. Just a small bop. Mira's sick, she gets this right.]

I believe you were stuck in bed not too long ago either.

[She bites her lower lip and winces at those particular suggestions. Gods, that sounds extremely painful and didn't he just get out of one hellhole??]

No no! That's the furthest thing on my mind!

[But maybe she should make some because she actually offered as she leads them to the kitchen. There was a mess prior but only because the woman decided to test to see if she could try making chocolate. It was a thing. Don't ask as she gets things ready to make some familiar Ishgardian tea. Always helps a mood out and warms the bones and soul. Or bolts for robots? Where's Cid or Nero when you need them for this?]

Concerned for me? [Wait what?] Ah, I'm fine compared to most. While it was...indescribable down there, [Don't ask.] I have seen horrors as such before. It does not get easier, alas.

In the kitchen as they are and sitting as Mettaton is now, he obnoxiously occupies... two chairs. One is for him, and the other is for his habit of stretching out his legs for display like they're the sexiest things in the multiverse. His posing on kitchen chairs is phenomenal in how statuesque it is. He probably does this a lot.

He watches Mira while she preps the tea, casual and conversational despite his ridiculous posturing. He does take note of her attempts at chocolate, and it's incredibly easy for Mettaton to connect the dots: desperate attempts at being a chocolatier, Valentine's Day. Valentine's Day, Bonds. Bonds, and... Mira's "nonsense" about Emet-Selch.

Well, that's how Mettaton sees it. Oh, he could laugh. At least someone knows how to express her feelings! But he settles on a cheeky smile instead, refraining from commentary. For now. Moreover, he focuses on her surprise at his question and her description of her experience.]

Even if you're fine compared to most, this isn't a competition to be the worst off! You're bound to get worn down, too. And you were so determined when I partnered with you... I can't imagine that none of this is catching up to you.

That, too, but...

[ He can't lie. He's a really bad liar. Though he can smooth the truth over, or try to, and maybe fail. But he goes ahead and does it anyway. ]

[ THERE. It's out there and he's not sure how Vanitas will interpret it. ]

[What did hurting have to do with being intimate? If the most thirsty of elezen could not get a reaction, Mettaton would not either. And boy is Haurchefant wanting a drink.

He wouldn't be wrong about the chocolates either...but also more to it. Grumpy ascian isn't the only one getting chocolate after all.]

But I feel fine, just a little tired that's all. I am sure it will not get to the point of collapse.

[Spoilers: it does.]

[ Good mood? That sure catches his attention. Vanitas should tell him to mind his own business. Tell him to go away and maybe bite off his head. ]

[ But that comes out instead. After all that's more his Bondmate than him, right? ]

[ Vanitas just stares at him. First Sora seems down because of the comment and now he's just bouncing back? What kind of person has he attached himself to here? It's unbelievable... ]

I didn't know that was a thing.

[ Yeah, the bop isn't even enough to really hurt anyway. Vanitas just laugh it off and takes the pillow away.

Now you're down one pillow, ma'am. ]

Yeah because I was stupid. Therefore I am an authority on being stupid and stubborn.

[Reckless? Must be Tuesday. What's the point of some fun without it?]
