It's usually the province of the rich after all, isn't it? To be able to read. So I've been in plenty of places and situations where books are fairly hard to come by.
[Though he's also had the Vesuvian palace library at his disposal on more than one occasion-- both now, and three years prior. He's far better read than most in his world.]
Funnily enough, I have read a book on travel between realms.
