Hm... I'm not so sure it was damaged, when it was done correctly. However... I'd imagine that not many true successes would ever be found. [She wouldn't know - not totally. She didn't survive long enough to find out; only to know what she saw in the interim, and none of that really looked successful.]

I trust my own ability... both as a dancer, and as someone used to avoiding damage. [Shields were ineffective against Beasts, so all the Hunters had to rely on were their own quick reflexes.]
